Rustic or rundown?”
It seemed there was only one staff member there who was doing most of the work, who had two young children. After a few days, there was a volunteer who was helping in exchange for staying there (maybe also food, but I didn't ask the details) and then it was easier to get service. I think it was probably a very nice place a few years ago, but when I was there, there were piles of garbage around, it was usually difficult to get someone to take orders for food, dirty plates would be left overnight, you could see daylight through the thatched roofs (heaven help you if it rained!). Lucky there were few mosquitos, because my net was full of holes. And this was during high season. The place definitely has potential, and it was peaceful, barring the occasional duck or people playing music up the road. But they really need more staff, whether it's by getting the family members to do more work, or hiring people, or doing work exchange. I wouldn't mind at all to work there four hours a day or so for room and board--but paying to stay there , I didn't feel like I was getting my money's worth.

Ant colony that was formed in my bungalow crawling all over my things (at least 10000 ants) and then i was told that i lived on the farm so its normal. Great, thanks for the discovery channel news. I wouldve preferred that you actually come into my cottage and see for yourself and offer me a room switch instead of educating me on nature. The cottages are nice. Mine didnt have wifi or even electrical outlets. Annoying.. No fans. Mosquito still managed to get through nets.must be ninjas.

The room was pretty unclean, drains clogged up and cobwebs everywhere. The rooms were nice but could do with a proper clean. Pool area was a bonus & huge salads at restaurant.
