Tranquility and beauty in a lush garden setting”
I loved my stay at the Faye Orchid. I am contemplating coming back here again as I just enjoy Koh Chang so much. FO is located in Bailan..it is a little bit away from the convenience of the eateries of Lonely Beach but it has its own delights...one of which is the beach nearby at the Mercure and the beautiful big butterflies in the orchid garden. I also enjoyed the pool day and night. What made this stay really special though was the thoughtful, organized and kind staff, helmed by Ms Amy who was happy to listen and provide assistance and recommendations throughout my stay. I would definitely recommend staying here if you enjoy nature and peace away from the busier more touristy areas in Koh Chang.

Very nice hotel with beautiful pool area”
this resort has almost everything, but bailan bay has no beach. it is a bay with stone and mud. it looks beautiful, but you can not take swim or a dip. the hotel has a free shuttle that will take you to a nice beach near bang bao approx. 10 min away. the staff at the hotel is very helpful and will do everything to make your stay perfect. bailan is one of the smallest villages on koh chang. it has a handfull bars and restaurants. if you are looking for party and lots of people then bailan is not the place.

Very nice overall”
have read quite a few negative reviews about this place, but my experience was very good. the place was lovely, very clean and my room beautiful and cleaned everyday. the service was fantastic. i didn't really eat there, so can't comment on prices or food quality, but there are other places in the locality to choose from. i spent quite a bit of time at the happy turtle just up the road which was fantastic for food, drink and service. i was mainly on koh chang for scuba diving, so the hotel location was ideal as very close to where you head out for diving from bao bang. it was lovely to come back from a day out and relax in the pool. the place was very quiet which i also liked.

Great location and wonderfull service”
We stayed longer than planned in this small, but great, resort. Everyday day the owner brings you to a nice and quiet beach in the south of Koh Chang. This resort isn’t a place for party animals. Because of an accident of our son we had to extend our stay for almost a week. That wasn’t a punishment at all. The staff and the owner are helpful and we where glad that our son could recover in his nice room and the quietness of the surroundings. We had dinner in the restaurant every evening. It tasted so well that we sometimes thought Jamie Oliver was cooking. Excellent!!!!!!! We never ate so well during our trip through Thailand. We would like to recommend this resort to everybody who wants to get away from a busy existence.

Best value for money”
We were staying in the family room, having our own balcony and bathroom almost the same size as the room (shower and bathtub). The room was awesome, very big with modern furniture but at the same time giving you a feeling of Thai materials. For the price we paid, it was the best option you could have in Koh Chang for 3 people. The environment of the resort was nice, in the nature, giving us the opportunity to enjoy evenings in the pool under tropical trees. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Definitely recommend it!!

What a lovely secluded little spot”
the orchid was a fabulous first stop on koh chang. on arrival we got upgraded to a wonderful bungalow - we extended our stay. it was not right on the beach but overlooked a wonderful view. the area around the pool was awesome for relaxing with a beer. moped rental just down the road. the hotel was not really within walking distance of nightlife so it was excellent for a relaxing quiet get away.

well designed resort ”
The Resort consists of several Bungalows ranging from Superior to Deluxe or Sea View Villa. We had the smallest type (superior) which still was comfortable enough with everything u may need for a short stay (AC, TV Mini bar Warm Water, free WiFi etc.) The Staff at the Resort is very friendly, speaks/understands English at a moderate level and always willing to help/assist you with everything you need. WiFi is free and you have a very good signal all over the area and in the bungalows itself. The Pool is very clean. and there is a Jacuzzi even with warm water very comfortable in the rain season - well integrated in the beautiful garden area. Relaxing there during sun goes down can be awesome ( Restaurant Tip : Try the Orchid Restaurant itself. It might look a little more expensive than most of the Thai-Restaurants on the streets, but they have very big portions and it's very delicious!

Quiet, Personalised Service and beautiful scenery”
If peace and quiet is exactly what you are looking for then Kwaimapar is the place. The resort itself is not too big and it is nestled in amongst the slopes just above Bai Lan Beach. The resort has very good menu options and generous serving sizes. Wifi is complimentary and their is even a Desktop computer for your use in reception. I got to even meet the owner and enjoy a few beers with him. Over all, I found my stay was pleasant and relaxing. The staff were exceptional in handling any request (even bookings for bus or ferry).

well trained staff, friendly, quite, nice clean room the staff at the resort is very friendly, speaks/understands english at a moderate level and always willing to help/assist you with everything you need. wifi is free and you have a very good signal all over the area and in the bungalows itself. the pool is very clean with daily quality check. right besides the pool there is a jacuzzi - well integrated in the beautiful garden area. relaxing there during sun goes down can be awesome :) restaurant tip : orchid restaurant excellent food very big portions and it's very delicious!

A Comfortable resort in a wonderful garden”
Me and my girlfriend stayed at the Orchid Resort from July the 16th to July the 18th.We really enjoyed our stay,the bungalow was comfortable with aircon,cable tv,daily cleaning and hot water.The staff is friendly,kind and helpful.Every morning at 11 am the owner of the resort took us for free to a wonderful beach and come pick us up at 5pm.The restaurant food is very good as well.We will surely come back again.

orchid resort and spa is a lovely garden filled with nice and clean bungalows. the location is remote if you are seeking a bar, but perfect if you want a romantic getaway. motorbikes can be rented very cheap next door, so it is no problem to get around the island. the staff is always smiling and being helpfull.

Had a very good stay at the Orchid resort, the staff were very helpful and friendly. Food was very good! Only downside was the smell in the bathroom, after a night there was a horrible smell coming from the bathroom.

Nice hotel with helpful staff”
Arrived early 10am although the room was not ready they made us welcome. We were upgraded to a seaview room which was very nice with a balcony looking out towards the sea. The staff were always helpful. Provide transport to and from the beach every day if you do not want to go to the beach in the morning you can always get a taxi which is cheap then get a lift back at 5pm. The garden is beautiful with lots of orchids. Enjoyed our stay so we stayed for 3 more days.

Really a resort. A gem in the djungle!”
me and my girlfriend visited this hotel for 4 night in late july 2011. we had heard some really creepy rumors about the owner (google and/or look at trip advisor) but he seemed to have cleaned up and we had several very interesting conversations with him. a really likeable dude. his stepson is the bellboy at the hotel and he is absolutely fantastic! very serviceminded, speaks good english, and knows everything worth to know about activities, trips, tours etc. our general view of the hotel itself: very nice bungalows albeit cramped -barely fits a bed, fridge and the tv (this proved to be just fine though). the garden is awesome, and we really got a feeling of being "home", especially when enjoying the (non-complimentary i'm afriad) cup of joe' on our terass every morning. the pool, jacuzzi and sunbeds were great too. resturant is good -a nice option if you don't can muster to go into a more habitated area of this island... the location of the resort is pretty off; the resturants are about 5-10 minute motobike ride away (we strongly suggest u rent one and explore!). overall, awesome stay!

Best Resort ”
The location is excellent, its away from the noisey night life so you can get a good rest but not to far that you miss out. They have an excellent restaurant with amazing food and service. The staff can help you with everything from an elephant ride to fresh towels nothing is to much trouble. It is really well maintained & the orchids everywhere are beautiful.The bungalows are a great size and functional with modern features.

Nice Hotel with Good service and Enviroment”
i had a great time staying in this hotel. it's not too expensive and i have a great time relaxing with my boyfriends and friends. the swimming pool is nice, we mostly spent our time hanging around the pool. the garden is also nice, decorates by orchids. massage service is available here too, baht for an hour. the room we were staying was fine, air-con, big bathroom and good bed. it worth money we pay. oh..and the service was nice!

Nice hotel friendly and helpful”
Nice hotel beautiful seaviews but we went to bailan beach resort and the feeling actually on the beach was heaps better. Sound of the waves and hammocks on the waters edge was better than the hilltop seaviews at the orchid hotel. Nice hotel but recomend staying on the beach.

Relaxing and friendly”
We booked for 2 nights and ended up staying 5 nights. A friendly welcome and it was really great to have a pool and gardens right outside the bungalows. As with many places on the island there isn´t a sandy beach really close but the owner drove guests every day down to what seems to us is one of the best beaches on the island and would pick us up at the end of the day. Walk 15 minutes in the other direction and the Lonely Beach village provided loads of eating opportunities and places just to hang around in. We also used the swimming pool and jacuzzi a lot. Overall, a very welcoming place that is quiet and relaxing and close enough to the beach and party resorts to mean that´s an option if you want night or beach life too.
