"Three friends and I stayed here when our other hotel decided..."

This hotel was renovated from a French colonial villa and offers spacious rooms overlooking the Mekong River. FCC Phnom Penh Boutique Hotel is centrally located along the riverfront with the Mekong River to the east and the National Museum to the west. The 3-star hotel is surrounded by the countless exciting shopping plazas and the vibrant riverfront nightlife scene. Guests are within a short walking distance to tourist attractions like the Royal Palace, Silver Pagoda, and National Museum. The top floor has a highly-skilled chef that serves fusion Cambodian and Western cuisine alongside upscale comfort food like beer-battered fish and chips, wood-oven pizzas, and deli-styled sandwiches.

We had the two-bedroom suite, which has a funky separate entrance from the rest of the hotel. The space was great. Recently renovated, a living room, a front balcony (although the street was too noisy for it to be of much use), two bedrooms, bathroom, and lots of storage space. We didn’t have much hot water in the shower, which was one of those wretched things that always made the whole bathroom floor wet every time you use it. The staff was very helpful in every way. The breakfast on the third floor was fine (western style) and convenient.
It is certainly noisy if you stay with the balcony room due to the noises from nearby restaurants and bars. Not recommended for light sleeper
Nice hotel in nice place”
I stayed 2 nights in this hotel and all is perfect for me.Staff, location, view on the Mekong, nice and comfortable room...what else??Nothing....may be the story of this hotel with give it a spirit....I will come back there......Sure!
Iconic FCC. A great little boutique hotel in the heart of PP. Nice alternative to the countless other anonymous hotels. The FCC bar up stairs is a great place to hang out and watch the Mekong pass by. One of the great bars of south east Asia
Nice place but....”
I like the FCC, the comfortable rooms with balcony, the upstairs restaurant overlooking the street and the staff are nice. But breakfast is too slow in the mornings and there just seems to be a lack of organisation in the restaurant meaning service at dinner is slow.
I like the history”
I like the history of the building and the views and beautiful old charm. So I put up with the bad wifi, phone that does not work. The very noisy street and the 6:30 wake up call each morning when the restaurant dropped tables on my ceiling (their floor). Go to the rooftop bar even if you don't stay here.
Historical Hotel in Good Location”
The FCC Hotel (Foreign Correspondents Club) is in the downtown area of Pnom Penh overlooking the river, and in a row of restaurants and bars along the waterfront. Other tourist attractions are just a short tuk tuk ride away. The FCC is most famous nowadays for cocktails on the balcony, and gets busy every evening. In the 70s it was home of many foreign correspondents covering the terrible Khmer Rouge years. There are around 10 rooms which are basic but acceptable. The breakfast was a la carte with a good choice. Hotel staff were friendly and eager to please. An excellent sunset cruise, duration 1 hour, departs at 17.15 from a quay close to the hotel. The nearby genocide museum is sobering, but educational and worth a visit.
First experience and very happy”
I really enjoyed my stay to the FCC, the location was great for any visits, walks, restaurant... There is always transportation accessible downstairs and the staff is very friendly and professional. It really make me want to come back again !
I enjoyed Hotel very much . Having been a previous visitor several times in the past the food portions were generous. They now seem to be small. As I stayed on different nights some rooms just look tired and only need a lick of paint. Otherwise always would stay in the hotel !
The strategic location enabled us to travel by foot, with ease. As it was only for a few nights, we didn't plan to travel far, and thus the hotel was suitable. Breakfast offered is a delight, especially on restaurant floor overlooking the busy street and river. The two-bedroom suite was great, with a clean bathroom (though the shower/bath could have been better maintained), and spacious rooms. Quite calming.
A Phnom Penh institution”
If you want to stay riverside in Phnom Penh, this is the best location. The deluxe (balcony) room gives the best people watching location, right opposite the river on the corner of 178th Street. Our room was spacious and attractive with really lovely decor. The bathroom was well equipped with a full size bathtub and rain flow shower above. Although the only full length mirror was opposite the bath and not where I wanted to use it! It was not so easy to get in and out of the shower. This is not a hotel for anyone with mobility issues as everything is upstairs and there is no lift. The included breakfast is served in the bar/restaurant and the food was well prepared although all hot dishes had to be modified for vegetarians. It really is time that they reviewed the breakfast menu. I loved staying at the FCC and at about US$74 per night it was a good deal.
Historical hotel, awesome loccation”
Not your usual modern cookie cutter hotel but a historical place with a lot of character. The rooms a comfortable, nicely furnished. The restaurant upstairs is a Phnom Penh Landmark. This will be my hotel of choice any time I return to Phnom Penh.
Full of character and charm”
There was some initial confusion about the rooms we had booked when we checked-in but this was resolved by the management and we ended up having a very enjoyable stay. The rooms are certainly somewhat dated and in need of being brought up to date but that is possibly part of the charm of the hotel. The main reason for staying here is its central location beside the river and a multitude of restaurants and bars. The hotel's own bar and restaurant is excellent with fantastic open air views over the river. Another added bonus is that all of the local taxi drivers know how to get here given its reputation. The staff organised a boat trip on the river for us with a bottle of wine and some beers and were very warm and friendly. Would certainly stay again.
Stayed in deluxe balcony room. Great location, however you can hear the street noise, this was not a problem for us. Rooms are large and very clean. Restaurant is great however a bit more expensive than some others along the river however you are paying a bit more for the history and the views. Good staff and service. Breakfast can be served in your room which is a great option. I enjoyed staying at the hotel and would stay again.
When we checked in, we were upgraded to the directors apartment. WOW, a HUGE 2 bedroom apartment overlooking the river, it was amazing. Great position on the river short walk to royal palace and loads of restaurants and bars nearby.
Great food good view.”
This hotel has a view of the rooftop bar is nice, but it was also very delicious meal. This hotel has a person who knows the PIN number of emergency safety deposit box in the staff. Restaurant, bar is recommended such reasons, But I advise so as not to stay absolutely.
Great place to stay”
we were lucky enough to get an upgrade on arrival to a room called kbal spean which was huge and we were very grateful for the extra space. the room was very nice and clean and comfortable. the staff at the front desk were overly friendly and very accommodating. they also helped us to organise a car transfer as we were heading off sihanoukville. overall we would definitely recommend staying here, also there is a nice restaurant/bar above the hotel.
Location on Sisowath Quay couldn't be better”
If you ant to be at the heart of the riverside action and fancy a bit of a splurge over your normal budget then this is a good choice. Just remember is a bar and restaurant with rooms rather than a hotel. The breakfast is fantastic with loads of choice
Nice rooms, perfect location”
the deluxe room was very spacious and clean with a view that over looks the river. the staff were very courteous and helpful. the breakfast was excellent and the there is a nice restaurant and bar upstairs with balconies that over look the river. the location is exactly where you want to be and transportation was readily available.
FCC Experience @ Phnom Penh”
I arrived at the hotel quite early on my check-in date, like around 9:30 am. I was quite surprised that they are able to arrange me a room @ 10:30 and i was able to take a good rest after a tiring flight. There was a party or something going on at the roof-top bar of the hotel @ my first night of staying. The Cuban music wasnt stop till almost 1am and i was very pissed off by that. But to be fair, the hotel did inform me abt it through a small note that afternoon. I just didnt expect the party ended so late. Nevertheless, I will give 3.5 pt out of 5 to the hotel.
