Very good location and amazing breakfast”
Walking distance to all major attractions, good room, bathroom could have shower cabinet but instead is just a curtain, It is pricy as Bangkok is. The breakfast is amazing! Overall we had a very pleasant stay.
Stayed here for the first time in Sept 2016 and will definately stay here again. Converted from a middle school, this place is close to the Swing and Wat Suthat. There is a morning market that fills the alleys behind the hotel... a good market! Lots of small noodle shops, etc. to explore in the immediate neighborhood. Walkable to the Phrang Nara neighborhood, with its array of good places to eat, as well as the area between Tanao Street and the Bangkok Metropolitan Authority on Dinso Street. The richest lode of small lunch places in the Bangkok area. Staff at the Feung Nakorn are very resourceful and accommodating.
Why you should choose Feung Nakorn”
This is a villa-like hotel with dorm room. Very spacious and allow you to sit and dine like in a 4-start hotel. The only sad thing is it's too far away from Khosan road, so if you are not going to there then this is definitely a place. When you need taxi, the staff would give you a crazy price, simply go outside across the street then do it from there.
Good location in old downtown”
Highly recommend for everyone who want to spend time in old downtown area. You can walk to many temples and grand palace from here . Only problem on parking that is so small and can park car about 6 cars there .
Great Location and Nice Staff”
The hotel location for me. It is just 10mins walking to the starting point for Bangkok Marathon, infront of the Grand Palace. The hotel is also within walking distance to other major temples and tourist attractions along the Chao Praya river, close to Chinatown and Kaosan road. The staff is very friendly and very helpful in offering information of the areas around the hotel and Bangkok. The room is spacious and toilet is very clean. I love the setting of the hotel with a garden in the middle of the "U" shaped hotel.
Love this place”
The location was good to visit the temples, you can walk there. It is far to walk to the restaurants but only 5 minutes by tuk tuk. Nice place, I would stay there again.khao san road. About 15 minutes walking.
Love this place, will come back”
Although we are from Bangkok, we never have a chance to really explore the city. What a lovely hotel!! It's good that the hotel has the parking lot. The staffs were so kind and friendly. We will come back, my daughter loves the little playgroud there ^^
The place is very cozy and for a cheap price I had a bed in a female dorm room for 4. The room was nicely maintained and looked like home. I was lucky to get the room to myself since it was low season. When I first arrived, they gave me a welcome drink which was really good as I was thirsty from all the walking. Internet connection was good too, I was able to do a video call without a problem. The staff also helped me arrange my train to Kanchanaburi which was good and they even packed my breakfast in a brown bag so I can bring it with me the next day.
Clean, great value, amazing breakfast ”
My stay at Feung Nakorn Balcony was excellent. I stayed in a dorm room with air-conditioning and there are large lockers available for free inside the room. Very convenient. Most of the hotel is standard rooms so they have a really good breakfast buffet that you can get even staying in the dorms. I ended up staying several nights because of the value.
Amazing rooms, good location.”
Love this place and the beautiful rooms that go beyond budget hotels. Taxi drivers had trouble with the location and street but the hotel has a map set out in Thai. Staff are quick to help you to hail trustworthy tuk tuks and taxis and explain your destination. However is in walking distance to main areas and water taxi. Breakfast is great and the extra dinner menu very tasty. The unfortunate and important downfall was the painful wifi in my particular room, and I spent most nights sitting on a balcony of another floor to pick up a better signal. Yet I'd stay again.
better than expected”
When you first arrive at the hotel the site from the road is deceiving, when you actually get to the recpetion is the hotel itself is quite attractive, there is a nice garden and fish pool to relax by and the receptionist was one of the nicest receptionists that I have been greeted by for a long time. I had a drink on arrival which was a lovely surprise and a map before I had even asked! The room I had was a shared dorm for 4. It was fine, there was noone staying there as it was low season, so was lonely for a solo traveller like me!:( but there was aircon. Unfortunately I personally thought the aircon was very loud and didn't cool the room very well, in hindsight being on the top bunk would have been a better choice in terms of this as you only just felt a breeze there. You got 2x towels and free water. The lockers were also a pleasant surprise with a key and they were quite large ^^ The best bit is the location. Down the road is Khaosan Road where you can get cheap tours if you need something else to do, and its round the corner from the palace, tourist info centres and the reclining buddah. 400m away is the night flower market and I went at a Buddist festival so there was a ceremony happening at the temple opposite the hotel:) the Golden mountain is worth a visit for a view and temple seeing:) It is quiet, but if you want the night life you can get a tuk tuk for 50b to khaosan:) maybe cheaper by metered taxi!
Amazing hostel in Old Bangkok”
The only downside I can say about this place is the shared bathroom - it was not kept in great shape and had a bit of an odor. That is really the only bad point. This place feels like a luxury hostel (if there is such a thing). Great modern facilities, plush beds (even in the dorm), clean, and a nice breakfast in the morning. Amazing find in the middle of Old Bangkok. Easy to miss if going down Feungnakorn Rd.
Great place for your trip to Bangkok !”
We love our staying in Feung Nakorn Balcony. This place is very nice, quiet and clean ! The room is lovely with beautiful wall color. And air conditioner is very good, we need that in hot Bangkok ! Every day we got mineral water and snacks (please note that the snacks are free of charge !). The other thing we love is its location, near tourist attractions such like Grand Palace, Sleeping Buddha and Wat Arun. You can go there by walking (if you want to have sigh seeing), or by tuk tuk. There is morning market very close to hotel, every morning we love to go there to find interesting local food which are very delicious. There is also a very interesting small shop which sells ice cream on the alley to this hotel. Every day after hot tiring trip we stopped there to have some yummy ice cream. If you want to go to Siam Paragon or Pratunam, just go there by taxi meter which will only cost you around 70 Baht. So again, this hotel is in a very good location. We love it !
Just one overnight stay on our way out of Thailand to Cambodia - the complex is nice, the restaurant area / bar is really nice! Rooms are clinical, clean and white with good sized beds, quiet at night so sleep not a problem. Food is good and the staff are very helpful with advice and getting taxis etc booked. The only (small) negatives? Pillows are rock hard (which, to be fair, I would have asked about if we were staying there 2 nights), the TV signal is bad to the point where it flicks every 5 seconds a bit like a strobe so that didn't stay on long, and double check your bill when you leave as we had one meal and drink added on mistakenly (which was taken off before we left). The strangest mistake though (and other hotels / inns are guilty of this too, to be fair) is they provide a small safe in the room but it's not bolted down anywhere so (if a prospective thief were so inclined) they could just get in the room and run off with the safe!
Nice hotel with friendly staff & a great location”
Feung Nakorn balcony is an excellent option for the budget traveler. The rooms are basic, but all the necessary components for traveler comfort are there: A/C, a flatscreen tv, a room safe, showers with hot water, an armoire, a mini-fridge, etc. There is free wi-fi and the beds are incredibly comfortable (in a firm way). The hotel building itself is not beautiful, per se, but the courtyard full of lush greenery and the fountain is a nice oasis during the day and night. The bar area near the koi pond also feels very luxurious and the second floor Café in the building facing the street is a wonderful, air-conditioned oasis with Lavazza coffee drinks! My friend and I were also very happy with the food coming out of the kitchen; the prices were super-reasonable for hotel food and everything we ordered was really delicious (especially the soups!). The staff really went out of their way to provide great service, but in an unobtrusive way. For example, when we went to sit by the koi pond at night, the manager sent someone over to plug in a fan to cool us off right away! When we sat down for dinner, another staffer placed a citronella candle near our table to fend off bugs. The staff was also super-accommodating any requests that we had. One additional little quirk is that the shower does not have a “lip” to catch the water, although the shower curtain helps. This means that the water goes right onto the bathroom floor. However, there was not water drainage problem, but having a some way to contain the water from the shower would have been nice. Overall, though, I would highly recommend the Feung Nakorn balcony not only to budget travelers, but for those seeking a welcoming and lovely little oasis close to the major tourist attractions in Bangkok.
Charming Boutique hotel in Perfect Location.”
This hotel is brand new. Its a former primary school that has been turned into a hotel. The reception is on a beautifully landscaped courtyard. The rooms are spotless and also very well decorated. There are lovely quirky little art works on walls through out the common areas of the hotel. Fantastic view fromt the roof. The hotel is walking distance from the Grand Place, Wat Pho,China town and Khao Sanh Road. As someone who has spent years backpacking and staying on Khao Sanh it is nice to be close to it but not in the thick of the craziness!! The staff are very sweet and helpful.
Beautiful and quiet place”
My experience here was very good. I love the location, which was easy to walk around. The helpful staff will show you the main attractions, which mostly take around 10-15mins walk. Location was a little hard to find for some drivers. There is a cafe in front of the hotel, which I love. The buildings are lovely, all blocks surrounds a garden. The shared bathroom was not very inconvenient unless you need to go there at night time. However, on the last day, my room full of female was next to a male room (we are the only 2 rooms on that floor). Sharing the open balcony and walking to and fro the bathroom was awkward.
Exceeded my expectations. I loved it here. Highly recommended”
I really enjoyed staying here. The staff were friendly and accommodating. Great location, the facility was so interesting and pretty. They have laundry service and laundry on site if you wish to do your own (they also provide powder detergent). The rooms and beds were basic and comfortable. Con: The bathroom did not have a countertop to put clothes or products on. The shower set up is just a shower head in the corner of the room and a curtain so water will get everywhere (typical of an Asian country). The shower curtain needs to be replaced because there were stains on the bottom of it. The shower space was small once the curtain was drawn; a few times the curtain would stick onto my legs when I'm showering. -The airconditioning was good but in the room I was in, it was directed at one bed (making the person on that bed very cold) and the other person on the other bed was very hot -Hard to find, needs a better sign because it's tucked in a small alley
