Clean and convenient - near to airport”

It's not central near the business district, but then it is closer to Tanjung Aru beach. Also, this isn't a problem as you can get a Grab taxi to the town centre for 8RM - that's about £1,50 in old English money or 2 US dollars. It's one of the nicer hostels I've stayed in.

Very clean and swish, but............”

That's not why I would recommend this accommodation to family and friends. This is one of few hostels I could recommend the food. Whilst I haven't tried all the items on the menu, I cannot recommend the 'Fried squid and avocado'. Yum, yum, delish'.

Loistava”

Very nice bunk beds and facilities. Only draw back is it can be relatively noisy as it is very near the airport so you can hear a plane flying by every 10 minutes. Just remember to bring a good quality ear plug.

Cost effective for airport”

We booked the private ensuite for 2 nights even though we only intended to stay for one night and then check out late on the second day. It was very conveniently located near the airport, a 10 minute taxi. The staff were friendly and the rest of the shared bunk rooms looked of high standard. Our room did the job, we had a good night sleep and the shower was good. Great value option for those looking for close airport proximity

Pleasant and helpful staffs”

Been here multiple times and it was an unfortunate experience this time to encounter a group of uncourteous and inconsiderate guests who stayed opposite to our private bunk, having NO SENSE and made loud noises, sang in the bathroom (a duet, maybe a trio) and even smoked in the room when we were already asleep (it was 12 midnight when these happened altogether)! We were awakened by these noises and cigarette smoke and complaint was lodged instantaneously. Problem was solved within 15 minutes and no similar event recurred the next night. Credit to all the staffs on their efficiency in managing problems and a special mention to Lea! Thanks! Perhaps in the future, hostel management should consider getting this type of monkeys heavily fined for disobeying the rules set and also, for the comfort of other guests.

Good location, yet more of a cafe with a flash packer hostel”

Pros: - close to restaurants, groceries, 7-11 with an ATM. - 15 mins walk to Tanjung Aru First Beach - close to airport ( RM8 via Grab) - RM3 voucher for drink in cafe - USB ports in dorm. - blackout curtains for each bunk Can be improved: - No proper pantry with microwave, just a chiller - no breakfast ( coffee would have been good in the morning ) - water dispenser pls ( not the one in Cafe)

Poor front desk service”

The front desk messed up my luggage which was kept it in their luggage store. My luggage handed over to someone else with confirming with me. Luckily, one of my friend who got my luggage, traced it back to me the next day. So careless.

Loistava”

Greeted by the aroma of coffee as soon as the door of lobby was opened. Friendly staff. Spacious, well-maintained, neat and tidy and pleasant surroundings. Comfortable mattress, soft and moderate pillow and thick quilt. Electrical appliances functioning well. Sound insulation is good as it located just beside the road.

Value for money for the hostel like this”

Good hostel and I always stay here overnight when I need to catch up next morning flight in kkia. Near to airport and they have some shops nearby if you need something to eat. Facilities inside are enough for the basic things you need in a hostel and quite ok for privacy. Recommended.

Erinomainen”

Second time staying here. Requested for lower bunk bed but because another 4 guest had checked in earlier, didn't manage to get it though :( The other 3 guests who stayed in the same room were so noisy. They chit chat until late at night and made the room so untidy. Their bags and clothes were everywhere on the floor eventhough they only stay for ~6hours. The next morning, they woke up and packing at damn early 2.30am!!! How to sleep with all the chit chat sound and plastic bag wrapping sound? Management should strictly ask the guest to keep the big luggage outside so that they won't do packing at this wee hours of the morning and disturb the other guests. Again, the remote control of air-con, which i don't understand why is it not provided for each room? The room were so hot in the midnight and the guest need to walk down to lobby to get the temperature fixed? Otherwise, cleanliness and facilities are execellent.

Clean and New!”

Pleasant stay. Near to airport and Tanjung Aru First Beach. Superbly clean room. I got clean towel daily and the bed is comfortable. I enjoyed their coffee the most. Hard to find single origin light-roast beans around but they are selling it at a very affordable price. Support local grown! Will come again.

Overall excellent, but a couple of minor issues.”

Pros: Great coffee, cleanliness, environment and condition of the hostel reminds you of a 5 star hotel. Cons: 1) They pit kids in the same room unsupervised; completely unacceptable! 2) Allowed some guests to check in at 2am waking everyone up in the room.

Clean and cheap”

Super clean and cheap! I stayed two nights at a hotel near Jesselton Point and moved to Dock In for my last night. I should've just stayed at Dock In for the whole trip. So clean. I would love to go back to Dock In.

Feels like a 5-star hostel”

I booked this hostel as it is near the airport, and one of the hostels in KK that accommodate midnight check-ins. Everything is clean and well maintained. I think they deserve a 5-star rating because of its facilities and very affordable rates. The only minor twist here is it is a bit far away from the city center, so you need to book a car to get there. Otherwise, it is a thumbs up for me.

Beautiful & comfy”

Great value for the price paid as i got last minute booking promotion price. The hotel looks exactly as described in the photo, beautiful interior design, comfortable and clean. The pillow is fluffy, the capsule/bed is spacious enough. Toilet & bathroom are seperated from each other, clean & big. There is a nice & cozy cafe opened from 10am-10pm, they are famous for their brownies & cookies. You can get RM3 off for 1 beverage in the cafe if you stayed here. Just 1 issue encountered during the stay: When I called the receptionist and request to adjust the air-conditioner temperature, the staff asked me to get the remote control at the reception, and return asap after use. Would be better if the hostel can provide 1 remote control at each room so that guest don't need to go up and down. Overall, great stay!

Overall ok”

Overall are ok! My friend and I stay for one night in 4 beds in a room and there are another guest staying in the same room with us. The guest took our hangers to hang her clothes & underwear and hang around the stairs, when my friend climbing up to upper bed accidentally make her clothes drop and she was being so fierce to us.

Double Room with attached bathroom”

New, clean & comfortable. Only shower gel, toilet roll and towel provided. Nice coffee in the lobby. Very simple breakfast with bread, fried rice, coffee & tea. Near to the airport, about 10-15 mins ride to town. No lift inside the building so people with large suitcase may need to store it in the locker on ground floor. I would recommend you not to choose the room next to staircase because it can be quite loud sometime when people close the door. Overall a pleasant stay. :)

Never again”

This hostel is one of the most expensive ones, yet the Wifi was not working at all (not even in the reception area), there was no tea/coffee or anything before 10 am and worst of all, the showers were extremely dirty (there was even a used sanitary napkin in one of the showers!). The whole place felt impersonal and overall it’s really bad value. I even decided to change hostel — went to Skypod Hostel which was much cheaper but much better (clean, working wifi, free water/coffee/tea and better vibes). Stay away from this place.

Best Hostel in Kota Kinabalu!”

My cousin and I super loved our stay in dock in! It is just a few minutes away from the airport and from the city proper. The hostel is really nice, with beautiful interior! The room, toilet, and bathrooms are all clean and well-maintained. What we loved the most is the cafe at the lobby where we get to hang out in the morning while waiting for our tour, and then in the afternoon after the tour until the evening. The cafe is very cosy and serves really good food and coffee!! The staff are also very friendly! Definitely the best accomodation in Kota for a very low price! Worth it! Highly recommended!

Great but”

Don't get me wrong, everything is good. But the lack of privacy is there as there is no locker to store your own stuff if you bringing expensive belongings over. Anyhow, the staffs were very nice and is a very cozy environment over the hotel.
