Excellent service. But that's it.”
Excellent service. Quiet.
One of those places you either love or hate. It seems to be stuck in time. In a good way. It has a certain early 90s charm which modern hotels are lacking. Service is friendly. When I check in, the hotel staff gives me a choice of three rooms to pick. I choose a suite without paying a cent more. That’s because the hotel is practically empty. I only recall seeing a family staying there. It can be rather creepy for the faint hearted. My room isn't spotless clean, either it is too shabby. In the night, I find myself with a couple of mosquito bites. Lucky for me, the mosquitoes would be quickly eradicated the next day with a bottle of insecticide. Hot water is not readily available. I have to inform the reception desk to turn it on. Sounds like a big inconvenience, but it’s not that bad. The Wi-Fi signal is strongest at the lobby area. Breakfast is a big letdown though: slices of Arabic bread with a boiled egg, sour cream, butter and jam. Coffee and tea are included. The hotel is just an easy five-minute walk down a slope to downtown. But from downtown, it’s a rather challenging climb up the same slope. I would give high marks for its excellent service and for its character. But sadly, that’s only as far as I'll go.
