The toilet had a nasty stain

Time to refurbish!
Outdated, tired looking rooms and hallways. Also, very noise due to open internal courtyard and narrow hallways with isolating doors. Dark carpets and woodwork makes the rooms look even smaller and uninviting. Room windows has no curtions for daytime, so once you open the dark, blackout curtion everyone see into your bed from the office cross the street. Bathroom tiels are broken and the grout has turned dark and dingy in between. Left over room service tray was left on the hallway floor for over 24 hours. It's a shame as this place could easily be turned into a great hotel, if the management would decide to put some money back into the place. Ps. We have hired a bike from the hotel that was 15 Euro per day. No lights on the bike or bell. You can image your journey in the dark after 5pm when nobady can see you and you can't even warn anyone with the sound :(

Like A Sauna
No AC in the middle of summer turned the room into a sauna, despite keeping the windows open & using a desk fan. Breakfast was fairly basic & nothing to rave about. For the cost per night, this hotel is not great value.

nice hotel but too noisy
The entrance gate of each floor level are expected to improve. The walking in n out but it was just too noisy while open close. Keep waking me up every hour in the middle of the night. And I was so lucky that there was false ablum at 6am

Never again in this hotel
frication, frindly reception staff
Hot and sticky rooms, no Aircondition, Windows can not be opened properly because of courtyard, everybody cann look into the rooms. No Service for breakfast at all, youth hostel style, nothing to do with a four star Hotel at all. Dirty and moldy bathrooms.

Character hotel in the heart of Copenhagen
Great location, nice lobby and free wifi&coffee&in room fridge contents
The lifts and the corridors at First Hotel Kong Frederik worried me at first as my father uses a mobility scooter and the lift being small, only just fit him in. He had some problems moving in and out due to the corridor behind being very limited but managed. The room size was great though and the location was fantastic for easily getting to all the central sights of Copenhagen on foot or mobility scooter which were my reasons for picking the hotel. The lobby was really nice and bright and sunny . Plus points were that the room fridge contents were free/included in the rates and downstairs had a coffee machine. Not entirely sure that the heater system in the room would have worked if it had been colder - there seemed to be no difference when i turned up or down the heaters in the room or the bathroom. This wasn't an issue during our stay in June as it was toasty enough under the covers (colder June than expected in CPH)

Excellent hotel. Oldest, but very comfortable
Historic. Elegant. Comfortable.
Had a very good stay. Oldest hotel in Copenhagen but very comfy thanks to a renovation in 2010. Good service, charming room, very central location. The list of past guests looked like a Who's Who.

Great location
Location, free internet , friendly staff
The hotel is located in the heart of Copenhagen making it ideal in you want to explore the city. However, for a 4 star hotel it felt that from basic amenities where missing which I expect to be included (such as slippers, hot water pot etc), room was big and spacious but overall the hotel is a bit worn down and the temperature in the room was impossible to adjust smoothly. We visited during feb and it we were either sweating or freezing. Breakfast wad ok. The stay was ok but I believe there are better hotels for the same price range out there in Copenhagen.
