Good for budget homeymoon as well for those with family”
Location may cause a bit problem for those had no transport. For privacy its well quiet and peacefully environment. Nice beach. With a few choices of room provided as well with budget traveler. For those like to BBQ it another great seafood supplier just outside the resort and everyday there is pasar 'market' with fresh seafood with very reasonable price. If driving there will be no issue about food, either take lunch and dinner at their restaurant or drive out toward Mersing and along the way a lot of multi restaurants along the road side. Recommended for those interested to has vacation here its better to drive. My family really enjoyed here but for those still to communicate with outside world please provide yourself will data plan cause there will be no wi-fi provided. So prepare for this amazing journey.
Super nice! ”
I have 1 deluxe room and 2 Standard room. Deluxe room. In front of the beach. Really nice view. Good amenities. Big toilet with king size bed and xtra sofabed. Standard room. Spacious room. Standard equipment. A bit far from beach but near to restaurant. Good location. Near to Mersing town, 7-10 min driving. Nice pool. Nice beach but need to share with public. Nice breakfast. Very helpful staff!
entry-level resort in a secluded area”
it's more or less a resort as commonly described. it has a good position and a great view (i think it's the best sleeping alternative in the neighborhood, compared to the mersing in-town hotels). there are several bungalows (some of them being newer) and a main building with 1 floor. unfortunately we went in a rainy period and the feeling was desolating. everything was wet and the bungalows were humid and smelly. we wanted to change our reservation for the newer ones (which were more expensive) and they asked us to pay the difference which i found very normal. but when we finally opted for a regular room on the upper floor of the main building (which was at least dry, but more cheaper) they were not happy with returning the money. at the end they offered us 2 meals instead of the price difference, which i also found to be ok as the food was good. the rooms are not in the best condition and the furniture is quite old. they are relatively clean. the staff were very friendly and helpful. from the balcony you have a great view but unfortunately you can't take a swim in the sea as the water is muddy, due to the river that is flowing nearby. i think the better option is to take the ferry from mersing to the closest islands. we didn't as it was raining all over the clock and there was no available schedule. for an alternative you have a small pool in the garden. as i think it's common for malaysia, you can drive and park the car in front of your bungalow. although the conditions were far from being the best the overall experience was very interesting as we could see a lot of wild monkeys in the trees, exotic birds flying by and a lot of lizzards from the smaller ones to a big 1.5 m one. it was a safari-like experience.
Great location in a private bay”
This hotel was such a nice surprise with lovely size rooms and furniture. great care had been taken with the furnishings and little touches around the place. very classy with a personal touch which made it seem more like home. I loved the day bed. A pity there was no English channels on TV but I didn't have much time to watch anyway. It's in a great position just north of Mersing away from the noise and hustle and bustel but has everything you need there. Breakfast was simple but lovely. I didn't get to try the restaurant unfortunately. The staff were most helpful and were able to let me stay another night on short notice. The grounds are lovely and the swimming pool and activities well placed in the middle, not hidden away like in some hotels. I would definitely go back there.
Great Scenery Great Location”
This is the first time our family stopping to stay overnight at Mersing. We arrive at 3 pm and the check in was fast. The room conditions was old but still functional. The hotel was surrounded by secondary forest which make the atmosphere so cooling. The hotel is fronting the sea which make our stay so exiting. The swimming pool was located by the sea site which make more exiting.
Seaside Hotel with a private beach”
There are many beaches at Mersing Air Papan. This resort is situated at a private bay along Air Papan beaches, among coconut trees. The Superior room is just next to the beach. The rooms are large and basic. The bed is King size and can sleep 3.You can easily put in another bed for another adult. There is a swimming pool and a pool for children. In the late afternoon, the bay is shaded for those who wants to avoid the sun. Clean and safe beach for children and adults. Nice breakfast. You can park right in front of your room.
Quiet and relaxing surrounding”
We stayed 2 nights/3 days at Fishing Bay Resort and what we expected was a quiet surrounding, a beach and a pool. Thats exactly what we got. We stayed on weekdays and that means that there was no weekend business where the resort can get really busy. Beside us there were hardly any other costumers. We had the beach and the pool for ourselve for the entire stay. The room was spacious and clean and provided a nice beach and pool view. The restaurant, well thats another topic. The restaurant offered many different dishes in their menu but as it was not a busy weekend, just local dishes have really been available. The local food we ordered in the end was fantastic and we have been positively surprised. The restaurant itselfe could be very nice and friendly if they would just put some nice tableclothes around the old plastic tables. All in all, we had a pleasant stay as we didn't expect any entertainment and cause we got the silence we wanted.
Resort has lots of potential to be No.1!”
Perfect location for rest and relax. Serenity of the location is awesome. Facilities need a little paint job and some minor works to bring back it's glory days. All rooms need cable TV just in case of stormy weather as current channel in room is full of statics. DVD player will be a bonus. Friendly staff also went all out to make your stay comfortable. One staff rescued us from a black frog attack!! Overall I'm happy with my stay and will definitely visit again. Wishing Fishing Bay Resort good luck with the maintenance and upgrading plan. Make it happen.
Nice, by beach, far from Mersing”
Very nice chalets, on a grass field, by the ocean. Beach and a nice swimming pool. Very friendly staff, gave us very nice local snacks to try. It is 20 min by taxi from Mersing, so a bit far away. Nice resort though.
Relaxing place with nice atmosphere”
-for people who want to spend a calm, relaxing time -taxi from mersing to resort 15min ride -the room is cosy and kampung-style.. but the facilities are quite old..they really should renew -tv on the room has just 2 malay programs, no english tv -no wifi on the room, just at the reception -food was good -the pool is clean and spacious all in all: invest a bit in the room and it will be a perfect place!
Fishing bay resort”
Nice place to visit, very privacy, we loved it. They serve delicious breakfast. My baby enjoy swimming at pool. We will visit fishing bay resort again.
Convenient and friendly hotel close to the beach”
Large garden and nice swimming pool are great for a stay with kids. Bungalows are simple but well equipped with air con. The place is very quiet with a nice beach. The place is conveniently located between Mersing and Endau Rompin. It's better to drive your own car because it's far from the town.
Got free upgrade room from standart to superior. Thanks to the hotel owner. Floor not really clean. I can felt the sands all over the floor but its ok..Its normal when your stay near the beach. Breakfast just ok. I love stay here because of the bay, scenery and the hospitality. Maybe will come back again..this time with a big family..
Got a free room upgrade to junior suite.Room location is infront of the beach, very nice view.Room is clean and tidy.Astro and big tv is provided in this room.staff is friendly.Beach is clean but lack of activities, maybe resort can provide activities for customers in future like island hopping or banana boat..overall im satisfied with my stay at this resort.
Beautiful view surrounded by green and right in front of beach”
First time stay in Mersing and this location is considered the best because its right in front of beach. Love the surrounding with coconut trees and green with spacious place for parking and run around.
Extremely quiet place when out of seson”
Fishing Bay Resort is located 25 MR from Mersing out in nowhere. When out of season (during monsoon season) there is nothing to do except take a swim in the pool or walk around the point at low tide. The only restaurant is the one on the premise, which only serves local food and very limiited - have to order fish the day before - The breakfast was below standard. If it is only a stopover going to Tioman, I would recommend a small new hotel in Mersing :Sikaza or something just close to the jetty.
The location is quite far from Pekan Mersing. You have to buy all the "jajan" first for your kids because there is no kedai runcit nearby. Once I reach there, I was so impressed with the view and the scenery of this resort. You can reach the beach by walk. The coconut trees and beautiful lanscape makes your pictures look beautiful and perfect. I must say that the place that we stayed was not worth for money. With that rate, I should get a big room equipped with TV (astro channel), iron, and whatnot. I got the old room with broken aircond and my kids are complaining this and that. To make thing worse, there was a small frog inside our room when we were away having dinner. I hope, the owner of the resort should consider the major renovation of the resort, the pool must regularly clean and re-consider the room rate.TQ
nice view, but 14 km from mersring”
If you want a quiet stay, this is a good place to be. If you just want a night before going to the islands, than it's not a good spot to be. Better to stay in Mersing. The rooms are good and there is a small but nice swimming pool. you can have a good meal in the restaurant.
Beautiful place with great atmosphere”
We drove down a village road and reached the resort on a beach front. It was a very authentic and peaceful location. The staff were very friendly and went to effort to make us feel welcome. Our room was great and faced the beach and sitting outside we watched fireflies and Malaysians having BBQ parties and playing games. Great crowd of people who were quite curious about us as foreigners. The water pressure was almost zero so we couldn't have a shower. Watch out for mosquitoes! Overall it is a simple place so don't expect 4 stars but for an authentic Malaysian experience with excellent people I really loved this resort.
The scenery is to die for, compliments every single flaw it has”
Pros- view is amazing. Took the double bed room upstairs room 15 (greaaat view). It's like you live in your own world by the private beach. Pool is nice and new, sitting area near the beach is awesome, simple and resort-ish feel. Breakfast was delish, tho it isn't buffet. They provided fried singapore meehoon with eggs, a plate of fruit, red bean bun, karipap and choice of tea or coffee. Cons- rooms abit worn down. Aircond not too cold, toilets bit old style. But all in all, the place people and view view view. Go with your loved ones, even family. There is a volleyball court, boardgame, lifejackets for swimming at sea. Highly recommended for those who are a sucker for beach lazing like in perhentian long beach etc2
