About this property

Description

The Flamingo Cancun Resort is an impressive beachfront hotel that is as colorful and as beautiful as its feathered namesake. Traveling to and from the hotel is easy because it is located midway between the airport and downtown Cancun, and sightseeing is easy due to being located across the street from a shopping and dining center. The hotel has 220 rooms fully equipped with modern amenities. Guests can enjoy the Caribbean sun, sand, and waves on the nearby beaches, or stay in-house and relax at the large outdoor pool. Room service is available around the clock, and the on-site restaurant serves tasty local dishes.

Nice location, terrible Wifi, spotty room-service
Locarion, location, location
Our stay was fine. The staff were nice. However, the wifi might as well not exist at all, as service is spotty, slow, and frequently unavailable. I understand that I am not going to Cancun to browse the web, but most working people expect at least access to their email when they book a vacation hotel. Even cheap motels offer better internet service! I was also irked that no one responded to my early morning room service calls for a cup of coffee. When I finally went down to the restaurant to get one, I was charged 24 pesos - not an exorbitant amount - but ridiculous for a small foam cup of black coffee. Would it kill hotels to at last offer a cup of complimentary coffee or tea or their non-inclusive guests? Small quibbles, I know. The room had a great view and was clean. The ocean was perfect, but that's Mexico and the Gulf, not the hotel. I'd probably not return, unless I got a good deal for a room. Oh - the taco stand they set up at night is great - 15 pesos for a decent taco beats pretty much any hotel food you can find in Cancun.

Nice hotel for the price.
Location and attentive staff.
The Flamingo is a older hotel without a lot of amenities found in newer resorts. The staff was friendly and attentive and they kept the resort clean. The beds were uncomfortable and the air conditioning was very loud and ineffective.

Clean rooms but not much fun around
Ocean view rooms
the hotel was not bad but compared to other hotels around it looked like one of the cheapest having in mind that we are paying almost the same price. the animation wasn't really good leaving people on their own most of the time. there was entertainment only by the pool and not much on the beach. only one free drinks bar open at a time - one by the pool during the day and one in the lobby in the evening where there was no music and there were so many people on it so you can hardly get a drink. staff wasn't bad - they were friendly but still to get attention in the restaurant (all inclusive) you needed to call for people instead of them coming to you, of course hoping for tips later. the hotel base is old but the rooms were always clean and tidy. the thing i didn't like is that on the upper floors there were doors between the rooms (2 sided) and it is not really hard for someone to enter your room with basic picklock skills .. the safe was not working in the rooms we had too. food was delicious but there was 3-4 meals choice for salads and same for main dishes. breakfast was always the same - they have 2 restaurants for it - one on the beach (which is very good) and one near the lobby offering more dishes. i didn't understand why the one at the beach was open only for breakfast but that was the unhappy situation. deserts were always the same with few cakes and some fruits. total: very poor choice of food and unhappy staff placing you sit where they say, not where you want.

Nice hotel with decent location on the beach
location and price
not as beautiful as the hotels which surrounded it but still decent service and cleanliness for its price. THe food was quite good from the buffet but the room service was not great. Small shopping complex across was a nice touch.

Great Location - Will Not come back to this Hotel
ocean front, good location
horrible condition, parking was far, we were double charged by the hotel after we had paid our room online, the towels were gray and musty, the room smelled like mold, the shutters were up and blocked the gorgeous ocean front view, there was mold in the bathroom ceiling, the AC was hot and hardly flowed, the hotel was old, the noises from outside are all easily heard in your room, horrible condition, unfriendly staff, will never stay again

Great staff but no entertainment as advertised
Great Food, Great Staff, nice location
Great if you don't need entertainment, the kids club was great when it was available, but very intermitten. Only one day a week with entertainment which was very disappointing. Everything else was great. The rooms were good, service was great, lots of sun, food was fabulous. Internet, not so good.
