Great Place to stayMy friend and I love this hotel so much. The hotel room is so clean. We like the hotel location because it situated in quiet area. It is not hard to find the hotel location, as long as you have the detailed map on hand. Even though we reached the hotel so late, nearly 12am midnight, but the hotel staff was still there assisting us. Thanks to Agoda to pass our message to the hotel and their arrangement.

Good value for money. Perfect locationTaxis may find it hard to find the hotel but it is in the middle of the hill near westlake which is perfect for hiking and sightseeing. The view is wonderful though not from our own window but just 180 m away is the Marshall Zhuangyuanfang which is very beautiful. Friendly staff and plain but nice breakfast. Staff may have a bit of difficulty understanding passports and visa stuff. This took us a while befoe check in as he didnt know what a visa looks like. However with the value for money you are paying, the nice view and patient staff, the place was the perfect getaway for our weekend. Before 6 pm everyday there are local buses to and from town plus around the scenic area. Most of them taking less than 20 mins to get around. With all this I am willing to ignore the fact that it was very cold at night even with ac on and that the window handle was broken.

Affordable Rooms if you speak MandarinNice simple affordable rooms appear to have been recently renovated; friendly helpful staff but all communication was in Chinese as one of our group was was fluent; there was construction still going on just across the access road to our unit but was not disturbing as we did nto spend much time in room; a little off the main beaten path so we took (affordable) taxis once or twice per day. The park and gardens directly across Santai Shan Lu was wonderful and so much less crowded than the more downtown areas around West Lake! Security staff was very helpful with our luggage and even helping us flag cab. Another branch of the hotel in in a more "mainstream" area for foreign tourists. Can not really rate food and dining as we did not eat here.

It is like relaxing in the country home”

country home environment, quiet, stay with some local residents, the mini-market owners are friendly, enjoy home-cook food,in the nearby home-restaurant. We enjoy the food at the restaurant near the San-tai-lu roadside, they provide "Kua-zhi", where we also enjoy the World-cup TV show, this was the best dinner we enjoyed during the whole duration of our stay in Hangzhou & Shanghai.
The hotel bathroom-bathtub glass door cannot close tightly, water spread out when taking shower, wetting the whole floor. It is a bit out of the main road and West Lake,of course we definitely cannot take the best of all things-its selling point is country-home.

This hotel is in the country-home setting, the staff are friendly, the lobby is provided with a reading table for reading, they also provide books and magazines, beside there are two computers, we can check our e-mail FOC.The hotel room is clean, simple setting with the basic need provided. Also the security system is also taken care of,as the main door of the house is closed and only can open with the guest door cards

may be also location but it is not to far even for walking to the center. (taxi also cheap in China) stuff not very good in English but it was not a problem

Hotel located near the most beautiful part of the lake - it is not just shore, it is beautiful gardens, you just need to cross the road. Hotel located little far form the center but it is not to far even for walking to the center (taxi is also cheap in China) And for this location you get cheaper price for the room. We enjoyed our stay and ready to stay next time.

    Flower Inn hotel”

Nice place, quiet area and by walking distance to West Lake. Hotel room is clean, acceptable level.
Hotel room too small. Difficult to call cab. for the standard room rate,I feel is expensive. For that kind of small room, should not more then Night.

Hotel location is quiet, peace of mind staying there. Cleanliness of the hotel is acceptable. Hotel staffs are polite. Basic facilities of the hotel are given. Good of experience to stay there. By walking distance can find their "kampong style" restaurant, have one convenience store open till 11pm. The hotel is special, it look like the Chinese kampong style". But the standard room too small regret to say.

    Flower Inn Hotel”

Quiet and near to West Lake.
Too far from the city centre and slightly too remote.

Flower Inn is a unique budget hotel. It is situated near the far end of the West Lake and away from the city centre and in the middle of the residential area. The hotel makes an excellent place for people who need to rejuvenate themselves- quiet and slow-paced. However, it may be deemed as a not-too-exciting place as it is relatively far from the city centre.

The hotel is located around the ordinary rural house and can see the way people live. It just a walking distance to westlake. Clean room and comfort bed.
The rooftop rooms have low ceiling, so have to bend down most of the time in the room.

Clean but small room at a Rustic Locaction ”

Clean and neat room with all basic facilities

The room is small, being on the 3rd Floor (attic convert) I have to bend my head each time at some corner to avoid hitting the ceiling beams. Those whole love to be in a remote rustic location will enjoy staying in this hotel. Transport is a problem, public buses stop in the evening and taxi are very few. A few metres down, crosssing the road is a nice lakeside forest garden which you can walk thru' to the main West Lake attractions. If you are on shopping trip this is not the best location

    Average but cheap”

Quiet area and close to some of the sights of West Lake

this hotel was close to west lake, leifeng pagoda and the boat across the lake, but the only restaurant in close proximity was the one above the lobby, which served reasonable food at standard restaurant prices. there was only one staff member in the lobby who spoke a little english, all the others were not very willing to try and help us. the rooms were very simple, but clean. there is a desktop computer in the room with free internet access, however plugging the cable into your laptop doesn't work. there is free wifi in the lobby and restaurant upstairs. it is motel-style accommodation with multiple smaller buildings, and there are a couple of convenience stores around that are open late. transport is a little difficult in the area, so it is best to walk to the lake or ask reception to call you a taxi. not many taxi drivers knew the location when we arrived at the main train station, so be prepared to wait for one that is willing to help. we walked around the lake to a much more tourist friendly area with shops, restaurants and transport and would recommend staying in that area (the north-east side of the lake). there is another flower inn near this area on nanshan rd.

    location

the location was great- a walking distance from the western part of the west lake. the room was clean and tidy, but was loacated next to the roof and so had a low ceiling. the area was very quiet but the room was at times a little noisy, we could hear the other guests.the staff was nice but did not have a very good english- they weren't very helpful when it came to arranging our trips around the area. a few taxi drivers had a problem finding the location- make sure you have the hotel phone number for directions. there is no wifi connection in the rooms- only at the reception area, which could be far from the room- since the rooms are located in different buildings.

Great Location but small rooms, some english”

    Location

It was very difficult to get there from the train on our arrival. The taxis in Hangzhou were difficult as many didn't understand the location given it was written in English. We were recommended to go on the Y2 bus but it didn't run after 6pm (I write this so others wont experience the same problems.) Be careful with the un-official taxi, those guys rip you off, as we found out when we managed to get an official taxi back the following day. Very little English was spoken at the hotel itself and we ended up with a twin roon rather than the double we had arranged. The room, although sufficient was not particularly clean and the hot water l=took a long while to warm up. It was alos in a residential area - the room was in the back of beyond, noisy morning and night, with unconfortable beds and very little option for food if you arrive later on in the evening (which we did). The location however was great on the West Lake, but unfortunately this was the only plus point of this hotel. Would definately however return to the area.

    Hotel nestled amongst the "village"”

    Individual, some English spoken

Far from Bus station, driver had difficulty finding hotel. The driver had to ask the local people for actual location of hotel. The room we stayed in the first was just next to a building site and the builders stored their material just under our window. Foul smell in the shower drainage. We told the reception in the morning about the smell and our room was changed. The second room had a bathroom that "flooded" when we showered.

    Not recommended for Non-Chinese Speaker”

within walking distance to XiHu & TaiZi Wan Park

it was very difficult to get there from the airport by shuttle. i hope nobody else experience my horrible experience stranding on the street near grand metro hotel trying to get a taxi. shuttle from airport only took you to grand metro, and then you need to take a taxi to the hotel. taxi in hangzhou, between 4-6pm will be very difficult to get because they change shift (we tried for 2 hours infront of a big crossroad to stop taxi, hungry & cold, we wrote this so others wont experience it) be careful with the un-official taxi. those guys will rip you off. the reason for their existence is because that city has a "4-6pm not taking any passenger" rule. the inn is terribly cold to the bed & blanket, although we went to hangzhou in march (it's no longer winter) my partner was freezing to death even under blanket. heater was working on & off, you can barely feel it's existence. the only working heater is your body. goodluck if you plan to stay there during winter :p oh, the staff there barely speak english. if you choose to stay there, chances are you are traveling on your own without travel agent. and if you dont speak chinese, i'm betting big time that you'll experience what we had. on the other hand, its neighbouring shanghai is a much more english-speaker friendly.
