A very comfort and quiet accommodation.”
Well priced, and in a nice quiet location. We stayed in a 2bedroom apartment. It was very handy to have a small kitchen, so we could have a simple breakfast. Laundry with a washing machine, drier and complementary washing powder was extremely handy while you are travelling. Wifi was fine, however the bed was a bit lumpy and the decor was a bit dated. Overall, we enjoyed our stay and would recommend to everyone.
great facility and friendly staff.
1. Upon arrival, while I was waiting for check-in, the receptionist ignored me and was teaching a new staff on how to confirm bookings or other revenue management matters... It was a small flaw. 2. Our room is on the ground floor. We killed some big ants on carpet inside the room. 3. Facilities are old with timber/construction materials piled outside the room.. 4. Overall, I still recommend.
Good for area”
Abit old on the outside but everything inside the room was functional . Good comfy bed. Running heater/aircon can be abit loud though if you're a light sleeper but thats my only complaint. Location wise area is really good. Walking distance to Manuka.
Nice place friendly staff”
A bit far away from tourist venues
Friendly and professional services staff”
Will be returned next time when we come back to Canberra. Thank you
Visit with O/S family”
Neat and tidy. Friendly staff. Close to all local attractions and easy to get onto circle roads. Manuka shops and Coles only 3 blocks away. Would stay again, thanks. And thanks Caroline.
Motel type accommodation in nice neighbourhood”
We stayed 10 days. Chose the hotel mainly for the fact it offered free tennis facilities. The hotel is adjacent to a tennis club. There are 6 courts and friendly club members who made us welcome. The room we had was clean and although a little dated had all the kitchen facilities we required. The hotel is 10 minute walk from a lovely neighbourhood shopping centre with nice restaurants and bars (caked Manuka) but to get around the city attractions a car is needed. Parking at the hotel is free and plentiful. A bus service runs past the hotel on weekdays only. On weekends the area is deserted and no buses!!! Yes this is the capital city of Aussie. Staff at the hotel are very professional and most helpful. We would certainly stay here again if only for the tennis!!
If you travel by car great place also for families”
Easy access and good point to start your trips into the environment. Very calm and a lot of Kakadou birds. Nearby a great place for children to play. Shopping centre and bars in 500 mtr vicinity. But don't exexpect too much it's an "adminstration" city. Big mall in the City. The Docks are a great place to relax in the evening. The ZOO is too expensiv and the exibition is small even with australian species
Decent Hotel for Short Stay”
My wife & I stayed a night here & we had a comfortable stay; parking was free but unfortunately the wifi had a 500 MB limit for free usage & more than that would be charged. While it's more motel or motor lodge than hotel or apartment, the place was located in a quiet & safe area, while still being in close driving distance to a factory outlet, Australian National University & restaurants.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here. The apartment was generally clean and comfortable, although we think the carpet has dust mites as we were itching from it. Anyways, it was complete with oven, induction stove, fridge, microwave and clothes washer/dryer. Customer service was excellent too. Parking was easy and close to shops, restaurant and attractions.
Nice clean room”
Room was very nice, not too big just enough for what we needed. Bathroom was clean and towels are big fluffy and fresh. The only thing we were dissapointed was the in house restaurant service is terrible, food came very slow, waitress forgot my partner's wine. Didnt come after entree, that only after he asked. Apart from that overall the room is good. Just need a little fix on the sharpy bit between the carpet and floor. Worried that someone would hurt themself.
Great place for a short stay in Canberra”
Free parking. Very good location - walking distance from the parliament. Friendly staff. I would definitely come here again if visiting Canberra in the future. The downsides are poor Wi-fi options (like with most Australian hotels) and the rooms don't appear to be very soundproof (but this didn't affect us that much).
When we decided to spend a two-day trip wandering around the capital city of Australia, we found it to be a little bit difficult to find an accommodation with good price and location at the meantime - couldn't find a better option than the Forrest Hotel and Apartments. The hotel, which is more like a motel actually from what it looks and equips, locates in the tourist area where it is convenient to walk to most of the tourist spots, and there are restaurants, cafes, bars and supermarkets around. Just wish the cost could be lower!
Good for the money”
Small, but clean rooms with good facilities. Relatively cheap, so quite good value for money, but driving distance from the city centre rather than walking distance. Service very good, friendly staff.
Clean and nice hotel ”
This hotel is worth for pricing hotel, good for short business trip stay. It is located near to various restaurants and shopping areas. The room is clean, nice, tidy, and comfort. Lots of free car park slots.
Pay more and go somewhere else.”
Bedding stained, cover blanket covered in human hair, food and dirt under the lounge, dirty carpet , tiny bathroom , noisy airconditioner. Had to rearrange the room to watch TV from bed. Upon check out staff were to busy amongst themselves to ask the stay was.
Practical, functional, comfortable.”
Room was discounted from $250 to $81, which raised expectations that weren't met. For $81, it was ok. Good points: a very good bed, good location, reasonably clean, and quiet area. Bad points: Outside staircases smelled like urinals, and the room smelled damp. Air con was buzzing and the fluro tube in the bathroom blinks for 20 seconds before turning on. We asked to stay an extra night for the same price but were charged $98, after paying I saw that the room was still available on agooda for $81, which was disappointing. Always check the agooda price first!
Cosy Apartment ”
Garden area is well maintained. Quiet location, friendly staff at check in. Apartment is cosy with comfortable beds. Decor colour is a bit old fashion but very comfortable couches. Overall value for money is great especially for families.
