An oasis of calm and old fashioned service”
We so enjoyed our two nights at the Fort Heritage, the staff were excellent, friendly and happy to assist with all our requests. Our room was huge , with a seperate seating area, huge bedroom, comfy bed and our own dinning area on the veranda looking out over the courtyard (where we ate dinner both nights). Breakfast in the courtyard in the morning is a great start to the day. There is an wonderful old world colonial charm about the hotel. They are a non licenced hotel, but there is a great bar a few minutes walk away. Would recommend this hotel to anyone staying in Cochin.

Nice historic hotel in the heart of Fort Kochi”
This was a great spot to explore Fort Kochi. The building is a very historic former Dutch Hospital. The AC in the room made it very comfortable in the India heat. The walls are very thick making WiFi reception difficult on the room. The lower floor rooms have ceilings that are beautiful old wood but they amplify any footsteps from the room above. We had a persistent walker at all hours of the night requiring ear-plugs to get any rest. Breakfast was a wonderful fruit plate and eggs cooked to order. It would have been nice to have a Kerala breakfast option though.

Decent Stay at Fort Heritage”
Hotel architecture, amenities, fort kochi location are are very good. But the stuffs and hospitality is clearly missing. They do not have proper catering service at the premises. Ordering a simple Tea is a big deal at the hotel.

Great location, could use some upgrading”
I booked a standard room, and was upgraded to their best suite. That being said, I couldn't use the sitting room because the size of the two rooms was quite large, and the AC barely kept the bedroom cool. Had to keep the door between the two rooms closed. There was no wifi at all, not even chargeable. Had to resort to going to cafes with wifi for my meals. Breakfast was included, but there were no choices. Only eggs and toast with butter and jam. Same thing daily. Menu was very limited and food at best average. Lighting was very poor. Since Fort Kochi attracts a lot of older persons, with difficulty reading, better lighting is a must.

Good location”
With the location of this hotel, and with the popularity of Fort Kochi growing, one would think that the owners would work to upgrade this great old bldg. Food was mediocre at best, no wifi available at all, staff helpful, but basically untrained. Spa listed, but really run down. Cannot recommend.

Nice hotel full of Dutch heritage.”
we stayed at this hotel for one night as part of our kerala trip. this is not really like other hotels that we have stayed in kerala. the hotel still gives the feelings of the colonial past. the decoration and the furniture’s are kind of unique and not found in other hotels. if you are fond of historical past then you will like this place. if you are looking for a modern hotel then this is not the hotel for you. the front desk is nothing but a desk and couple chairs but the people are friendly. they allocated a large room for us. the bathroom was nice as well. the breakfast was served in the lawn. i wish the quantity of the breakfast was slightly better. we like big breakfast which keeps us going for the day. please be aware there are mosquitoes in the lawn. which is the only thing disturb our peace. the hotel is ideally located near sightseeing places. if you like fish then there is a fish market near the seaside where you can buy your choice of fish and the local restaurants will cook the fishes for you.

Charming boutique hotel”
There's a special atmosphere in this hotel built in 1664 and filled with antique furniture (the matresses and air conditioning are modern!). Staff are delightful, and brekfast in the garden is a wonderful way to start the day.

Historic, grand building”
The hotel is small and beauitful and in a charming part of town with great restaurants near-by. The one problem was the mosquitos in the garden.

Extremely bad service”
I had made 2 separate bookings at Fort Heritage. BOTH were initially confirmed. A few days later the HOTEL cancelled the booking made for ONE Room. I called the hotel and was told that the hotel was overbooked. They had already deducted the amount from my Credit Card. Finally I got an email from the Hotel Manager saying that 'we will keep the second room for you and you can pay on arrival' Some Relief ( as I was travelling with my elderly Mother aged 80 and two daughters who live in Sweden) On 23rd Jan 2013 we arrived at the hotel around 1250 hrs and met the Manager who declined to give me the second room inspite of the email I showed him!! He even said 'I did not write the mail' My daughters had to stay in another hotel!! Disgraceful behaviour I must say. The Manager said' We had a large Australian group and had to give them the room!!!!' What a joke!! So he gave priority to a bunch of australian tourist and left me stranded with my daughters. ( He said I can place two additional beds in your room but you will have to pay for the same). The Room that my Mother and I stayed at: 1. Faulty/dangerous electrical sockets 2. Telephone not working 3. No internal telephone internal directory. When I asked the front desk what the room-reception umber was he did not know it and suggested I call the external number.

A Good , Old-fashioned , non-Boutique Hotel .”
I was particularly impressed that I was made welcome at 6 am , able to go straight to my room , and not charged extra for the excellent breakfast I enjoyed two hours later .

We had an adequate stay but were disappointed ”
It was OK. As I said before we were disappointed by the lack of services(for the price). The breakfast was very inadequate, tepid tea, very weak coffee, poor and slow service.

Unclean and less helpful staff”
There were ants all over the towels and WC/bathtub and when raised an alarm, they had the towel changed and sprayed pesticides all over the washroom. No room change, and left with the strong smell of HIT in the loo and the bedroom. Tv with no remotes and Ac that took forever to chill. Rooms are nice with beautiful beds but bad service. We were also denied breakfast on arrival cos there was a lunch part planned for some Australians in the restaurant so refused f&b to all other guests.

Lovely heritage hotel but very poor service”
We were very disappointed with the service. The breakfast was poor and badly served ( tea was luke warm, coffee like dishwater) the room cleaning was strange, towels changed but no toilet paper or soap replaced. The boy at reception was very pleasant but the other staff were not very competent. We felt it was well below value for money.
