Serenity”
The Fort Ilocandia Resort Hotel is quite a serene place to stay a holiday in Ilocos. Its expansive quiet surroundings, solid buildings and interiors, quaint brick spanish architecture, clean grounds and beautiful gardens highlighted by bright bougenvillas provide a relaxing stay. The hotel itself provide a visitor with many photo opportunities because of its beautiful interior and exterior structures and garden areas. The room is clean though needed bathroom refurbishment which is quite outdated and old. The food at their Cafe Ilocandia is simple but filling and good. The staff we met at the restaurant are polite and served us well. Their swimming pool is good for a swim and a dip in the afternoon or early morning. it is clean though needs refurbishment or scrubbing because its quite old.
An old paradise up north”
this is our first family vacation in northern Luzon covering Vigan, Laoag and Pagudpud spending a night in each of the aforementioned places. However our night in Laoag is the best simply because we chose Fort Ilocandia as our hotel. I booked a standard room for me and my husband but on the last minute my daughter of 18 joined us. Thus we were three instead of two when we checked-in but we did not encounter any problem. The front desk clerk was very accommodating to give us a bigger room with additional charge of only P1,100 for one person that included an extra bed which is so new and comfortable, buffet breakfast and all other amenities for the extra person. The room is outdated as compared with other hotels that we've been to but it's beauty and space still stand out! Additional plus is its landscape which is so beautiful...and you'll never get bored because you could do your own thing. I opted to go sun bathing with a natural sand spa therapy (the beach is on the red flag so swimming there is not recommended), my husband went jogging barefooted on the beach shore and my daughter tried her archery skills. Thereafter we went swimming in their very clean and huge swimming pool. There's a mini zoo too. Breakfast is also good. the hotel staff are very courteous and friendly. Our stay was so short we promised ourselves to come back again perhaps next summer. I will definitely recommend this place, it's superb!!
Great location, perfect for nature lovers ”
it's our second stay @ Fort Ilocandia; chose to stay here because PROS 1) location is strategic - nearest luxury hotel to the laoag airport 2) agoda deal is great-breakfast+room+welcome drinks 3) rooms are tranquil- we didn't hear noises from other guests or from outside 4) air conditioning working fine 5) bathroom amenities okay + hair dryer provided - good for me 6) room was spacious - we got one matrimonial + single (good for 3 persons) with lots of space to walk around 7) bathroom heating working fine 8) breakfast choices good - especially longganiza & coffee 9) artwork was interesting too 10) we like the plants, flowers, landscaping 11) my parents could take long walks around the hotel + beach CONS when i asked the front desk if i could check in over the counter i was told by the staff that they'd have to check because there were many arrivals that day. Good thing my husband was able to book us online via agoda that same morning. remote control of the TV had not batteries not many cable channel choices
Fort Ilocandia Comfort Stay”
In Ilocos Norte, Fort Ilocandia is a very good choice for a hotel to stay. Hotel rooms are practically priced and very clean. The hotel staff are very well trained in handling both locals and tourists. Breakfast was served buffet with wide variety of international buffet including the best of Ilocos food.
A PARADISE IN THE MIDDLE OF NOWHERE”
I had to travel to Laoag overnight for legal matters. Checking the web, I noted that only Fort Ilocandia had the facilities I needed for business, so I booked. I was not disappointed. The hotel is five star all the way. The Sunset Suite was huge and had a great view from two balconies. It was clean and smelled good although they gave me a smoking room. Amenities are topnotch. The views are fantastic, and it was majestic in the sense that the compound where the hotel is located was sprawling. The decor is a step up from other hotels: it exuded Old World ambiance, a far cry from the cookie cutter interiors of hotel chains. It had quality rugs on the floor and hardwood furniture. The food was good and servings generous, although for authentic Ilocano fare you'sd have to go to the town porper. It was also very close to the airport, and the shuttle was a new Toyota van. Their service rental was a Ford E150 van. The tariff and incidentals were surprisingly reasonable for the quality of the service and the facilities. Of course, not much to see outside the hotel, but it's not the hotel's fault. The only sour note is the profusion of Chinese guests, who were boisterous and uncouth. In all, a wonderful experience. Going back with the family next month. YEAH BA!
Ilocos Jewel in the Palace”
It is a five star hotel situated near the airport. Accessible to almost all kinds of hobbies or sports. They have golf course, swimming pool, driving range, shooting range, horse back riding, water sports, such as jet ski, archery and many more. They also have casino. They have this historical and panoramic view. The total land area of the hotel is quite big with beach resort. It is all in one hotel. When you decide to visit Ilocos or laoag in particular, do not forget to visit Fort Ilocandia Resort Hotel. Better yet just stay in this five star luxurious hotel and enjoy this stay of a life time. It is really Ilocos jewel in the Palace.
Luxurious Hotel to stay in the Province of Laoag Ilocos Norte”
The room we stayed in had a bath tub with heater. The room had a phone, an electric hot water heater for coffee or tea, a refrigerator, a safety deposit box and cable television. A terrace overlooking the swimming pool, the driving range and the beach. The package we got included buffet breakfast. There was a bread station, juice station, coffee / tea / water station. An egg station and the buffet spread which consisted of noodles, rice, fried fish, sausages, ham, cake, fruits etc... The property offered free shuttle on mondays, wednesdays and fridays from the hotel to robinsons mall in san nicolas, then to puregold in laoag city, then back to the hotel. This was four times a day from 12 noon onwards. Schedule available at the front desk. On other days, you can hire a van that can take you around. The only negative thing in staying in this property is that if you don't have a car, it is hard to get around. There are no tricycles nearby. The only option is to hire a private van on the days when there is no shuttle provided by the hotel. Or you can rent a van from the hotel. Of course its a but expensive. Also, you can ask the concierge for cheaper options ini hiring a van or smaller vehicle. The place itself with all its amenities is worth the money you're paying for. A beautiful historic hotel to lay back and relax. Excellent location for a vacation with the whole family. There is an olympic sized pool, a tiled floor pool and a children's pool. There are a lot of activities available. My son went fishing and he had the time of his life. We also went swimming. The beach is not conducive to swim at the time we went there because of the high tide. There was also a mini zoo. The casino is closed, hopefully they will consider opening it in the near future. It would have made our stay perfect. I am looking forward in returning to Fort Ilocandia soon. I had a very memorable and relaxing stay.
All you need is here!”
We booked this hotel as a pit stop for our northern Luzon escapade. but instead, we enjoyed our stay that we even find time to use their swimming pool facility and their access to the beach. If ever we will be up north again, it will be because we want to stay to fort ilocandia again. imagine, SUBA sand dunes adventures are just 5 mins drive from the hotel and you wont even go out the highway to access it. So after you enjoyed the unlimited sandboarding, you go back to the hotel for a quick shower and you can continue your tour of Ilocos. I WILL DEFINITELY BE BACK!!!
Grand hotel of the North”
Upon entering, you would be greeted by the "grand" entrance and lobby reminiscent of the grandeur of its older days. :P Rooms need updating but the comfort wasn't lost. I especially like our own little balcony with the nice views of the pool and gardens. The resort is huge and grounds are well maintained. Lots of picture-worthy spots around the resort. We didn't get to try much of their amenities but we enjoyed the morning walks on the beach. Buffet breakfast was good but could be better for a 5 star hotel. All in all, good value for money. Will stay here again if ever I do visit Ilocos norte in the future.
Old hotel with character.”
Rooms are spacious and well maintained. Lots of amenities to enjoy. No need to getout to enjoy the vacay. You can enjoy the beach, the pool, zoo, or simply explore the hotel. Food though is nothing to look forward to. But will still highly recommend Fort Ilocandia to friends. Read some bad reviews about the hotel. We went there this holy week only which is peak season. Did not see anything that would turn me off except food is not great. Hope they maintain the place so it can still be a destination for many more visitors in the years to come. We will definitely go back.
Nice hotel and great service”
My family stayed here during our stay in Ilocos Norte. The staffs were great and very friendly. The rooms are a little bit old but clean. The breakfast buffet is okay. There are lots of activities with reasonable prices while in the resort - golfing, ATV, archery, mini Zoo, swimming in the pool or at the beach, my family enjoyed a lot. Check in is great but it took me a while to check out because credit card wire/wireless communication. They need to improve this. Overall, this is a great place to stay while in Ilocos.
Nice place but just ok rooms”
We checked in late, just in time to catch the sunset by the beach. Booked two rooms, we were 5 adults. Loved their breakfast, a right mix of international and local food. We also had a la carte dinner at Cafe Ilocandia, we ordered mostly Ilocano dishes. Dinner was delicious! And price can be cheap, especially considering that we're in a hotel. We loved walking around at night, and also in the morning after breakfast. Lovely hotel surroundings, and lots of great areas for photoop. Beach was not really fit for swimming due to strong waves, but still it was lovely to just take a stroll and hear the waves crashing. Perhaps what we found underwhelming were the rooms. We only booked the standard rooms (can comfortably fit 3pax, as the room had two beds). Rooms were basic and kinda shows it's age. But i love that our room's balcony opens up to a lovely courtyard. The bathroom was of right size, though i thought the shower area could use a bit more lighting. The hotel staff were also great. Check in was smooth and they gave us connecting rooms, which made it really convenient for us. Checkout was also quick. Restaurant staff were attentive and courteous. There's free wifi, but they only allow one user at a time to use the login profile (only one per room). Signal in the rooms is kinda weak, but in the restaurant it's really fast. There's a small casino at the 2nd floor, we spent a couple of hours after dinner playing table card games and spinning at the slot machines. Do note that hotel location is out of the way for public transportation. So i can only recommend this to people who brought own car (like us), or those with pre-arranged transportation, especially if you plan to do some sightseeing around Ilocos. All in all, will consider staying here again, especially if i get another good rate via Agoda.
Irresistible Hotel ”
Our stay in Fort Ilocandia is an unforgettable and awesome experience. We got warm reception and cordial service from the hotel staff. The room is lovely and comfortable. Each room has the veranda viewing the garden and the 100-meter pool. The wardrobe area is spacious enough to accomodate all the luggage that we have. The way to the resto, lounge, bar, reception or to any amenities is a view freshly cut green grass and flowers. It's worth staying in this hotel aside from the tour activities that go with the trip. The breakfast buffet was excellent. It has a variety of food to choose from. I love the salad corner and chinese congee they serve. The chinese resto (Red 8) serves authentic chinese food. No wonder that we had all our dinner there during the whole period of our stay.
Nice stay!”
My family enjoyed our stay at Fort Ilocandia. The place is really spacious and we consider it a one stop shop hotel, as they also offer various activities (i.e. Kayaking, beach volleyball, sand boarding, etc). Food is also good! We tried cafe ilocandia for the bagnet, poque poque, blue marlin sinigang. We also dined at Red 8 Asian, food did not fail but the crowd is quite noisy. But nonetheless, we really enjoyed the vacation! ⛄️Merry Christmas!🎄
peaceful relaxing place to go”
fort ilocandia resort hotel offers you tranquility. the place so relaxing, calm, very peaceful and beautiful. the food is good. the staffs are well mannered, helpful, polite, and accommodating. the place offer you whole package of fun for families. thats why i planned to bring my family there in our next vacation.
Exceptional”
I loved my stay this time compared to 6 yrs ago when it was too crowded and busy. this time it was too quiet and as if I have the whole resort especially the beach all to myself and really just found myself roaming around the vast expanse of this stunningproperty . fort Ilocandia was well maintained, the garden was well manicured. Clean and the staff was helpful and friendly. facilities/ fixtures though are dated which I do not mind because it still functional.
Exceptional”
We truly enjoyed our stay for 2 nights. Loved their pool, it's clean and safe. if you got bored with the pool, then you can stay at the shore. They have kubo where you can sit back, relax and listen to the sounding waves. We also tried their ATV (Php 1,200 for 20 minutes). It was an awesome experience. We also strolled at their mini zoo. They got peacock, deer, monkeys, goat, birds, etc. Their staffs are also friendly. Since they only got 2 floors, expect no elevator. So their staff will help you carry your luggages if you're staying at the 2nd floor. We initially requested in Agoda for a room with bath tub and luckily we got it. There is only 1 advise I can give though, it will be cheaper if you book directly to Fort Ilocandia. We were surprise when we arrived and approached the receptionist. Their 3D2N promo is only less than 7000 where as we booked in Agoda costs us 9600.
A place getting old but still with class”
This was our 4th stay at Fort Ilocandia, Although the hotel is showing some signs of age I still find it a place with some class. Fort Ilocandia is a bit ff the beaten track but I like the peace and quiet. The facilities are good but require some tlc. I am sure I will return Brian Windle South Australia
Beautiful grounds, good staff”
this hotel looks like it has passed its prime. and yet, it has maintained a level of charm and nostalgia. the beautifully landscaped and expansive grounds are hard to beat. manicured lawns, huge swimming pool, archery field, beach area - all these make fort ilocandia memorable. dining is a notch below, both in terms of food and ambience but service is very good. it can be quite a walk to your room from the lobby, depending on which wing you get assigned to. one downer: there was this smell of insect spray in some areas but i suppose better that than be tattooed with mosquito bites!
Experience old-world Ilocos at its best”
Fort Ilocandia was everything one could imagine from the photos - classically beautiful, well-kept and huge! The grounds were well-maintained, as were the many buildings, and the variety of services and amenities available were impressive. Most of the service staff were polite, pleasant and accommodating. One can stay at the Fort and not feel like he'd need to step out for anything. The room was also beautiful and perfect for couples out to spend a quiet weekend alone. The only caveat is the fact that they charge an obscene amount for shuttle service (P600 for 4 kms!), even if you're checked in at the hotel. Other than that, our experience was great.
