The best place to be in RomeThe staff was incredibly helpful as they both upgraded us and let us have an early check in. The view from our corner room was great and the morning breakfast on the roof terrace was magnificent. Also, the whole area around the hotel and behind the Colosseo is full of very good restaurants, ice cream shops and even a supermarket, so the location is the best you can ask for. The rooms, in line with the classic style of the whole hotel, are a bit old - especially if you're there for business and you need lots of sockets for recharging your gadgets and hi-speed wifi - but this is the only thing I would change. Definitely going back!

An excellent property in the heart of Rome! This was one of my best experiences in Rome. They gave me an early check-in despite check-in time was around 2:00 pm. The people at the front desk were very courteous and happy to help. I did not dine at the hotel so cannot comment about the food, but the hotel has a very nice romantic roof top restaurant, which I should have explored but I didn't find enough time. Nice boutique restaurants nearby and the Colosseum is 5 minutes away by walk. I think if I visit the historic city of Rome again then I will be tempted to stay at Hotel Forum.

Special rate possible for solo travelers. Visit coloseo and Venice square is so convenience within couple of steps. Taxi is not so expensive. To the fountain, roughly 11 euro; to the museum, less than 20 euro. Good place to stay and nice to visits sites morning and evening. Highly recommend.

    Hotel Forum”

We chose a deluxe double with forum view, Good size room, good view and added bonus of street music from all sorts of musicians! Staff at reception were great, female breakfast staff were great however the males weren't happy young souls, miserable faces and everything was too much trouble! The American rooftop bar service was terrible, only one member of staff serving the restaurant as well as the bar, he was obviously stressed but took it out on the customers (quite blunt), we waited 15 mins for a drink and had to stand up and start to walk out to get the bill after more than 15 mins of waiting after asking for it. Didn't eat in the restaurant but prices were expensive, breakfast was adequate but the same everyday. Perhaps a rota for the cooking of eggs (sloppy scrambled daily) and maybe sausages instead of bacon (had to wait for more bacon to be served, which disappeared in 2 minutes). On the whole the hotel was clean, beds comfortable, hot water (after running for a while), and intermittent wifi. Best thing was location, near to sights and street restaurants.

WONDERFUL POSITION IN THE HEART OF ANCIENT ROME”

Great location, wonderful views from the room (provided you upgrade), restaurant and bar and extremely helpful and diligent staff.

We had a wonderful stay at the Forum Hotel. It is a great location in the heart of the Ancient Forum and although in the middle of things is fairly quiet. Restaurant seemed expensive to us but there are a multitude of good value restaurants and bars within easy walking distance nearby so this is not a problem. Would certainly not hesitate in recommending the Hotel.

    Fabulous location in Rome”

Location, location and old world charm

We thought this was a great hotel for a short stay in Rome. Not only is it located overlooking the Forum and near the Coliseum, but it is also in the heart of Monti with great bars and restaurants. The room we stayed in was small (adequate size) and quaint. The bathroom was very small and a little outdated. We loved the wood panelling and museum elements of the hotel. The rooftop bar is fantastic.

Best Location next to the Roma Forum”

    Location

A old Hotel with some flair, but pretty uncomfortable if you are travelling with young children. There is now water boiler in the room and you have to ask for hot water from the kitchen on the top floor all the time. The service from the kitchen was excellent and very friendly. The service from the receipten was very basic and pretty cold. I would not recommend this Hotel for Families with young children.

Location, good service (staff very attentive to one's needs)

We stayed there twice, before and after X-Mas 2012 and the hotel, being close to the Collosseum, the Imperial Forum and the Vittorio Manuele monument, presents several advantages. Taxis called by the reception desk arrive in no more than 3-4 minutes.

Location, location, location- very large family room- views from the fabulous rooftop bar

Stayed two nights in July- fabulous location, a short walk from the major attractions. Stayed in a very large family room- two inter-connnecting rooms with two bathrooms. We have 3 children and there was plenty of room. Rooms very nice with lovely proper wood furniture. Bathrooms by comparison a bit disappointing. The breakfast was in the restaurant with beautiful views over the city although the breakfast itself was reasonable rather than good. The roof top bar was fab- drinks are a bit pricey but definitely worth it and the barman is very nice.

Nice hotel but need triple checking”

    Location

We booked the hotel for the holiday in Rome, I liked the location and pictures on the website also looked ok. I would not mind surprises for business trip but for holiday everything must be in order. I booked through agoda, they did not provide any information about the location of the room so I emailed hotel to request room with the view on Forum. That was a good move as hotel people explained this comes with the additional cost. Fair enough, I asked for upgrade. As my girlfriend had her birthday during our stay I also asked for a bottle of wine in the room as well as help with booking of a table in the nice restaurant in the area. I also asked if they could help me with the bday cake, answer I got no problem, we will take care of both. I confirmed restaurant booking time, all perfect, I asked for the airport transfer to be arranged. Again, confirmed, no problem. As it was booking in advance, I gave them a call week before our travel. Surprisingly, they were not aware of the restraurant booking, airport transfer was also not arranged, I didnt even want to ask abt the cake. We arrived a bit worried but taxi driver was waiting, all should be ok. Room was nice, as expected and had a view, as promised. Bottle of prosecco was also waiting together with small bowl of fruits. Great. If they took care of one thing I thought, they probably also took care of restaurant. Wrong. Luckily I had a chance to go to restaurant one hour before the booking only to hear that they are fully booked but my name is not on the list. To summarise: Hotel location is great. Bfast is served in the rooftop restaurant which offers amazing views. If you want just good stay in the hotel, this should be your choice. If you however require concierge to help you with anything, make sure that you check not once, not twice, but three times.

    Great location

the hotel is at a great location, right next to the forum archiological site and within walking distance to the venetian plaza and colosseum. however, it's about 5 to 10 minutes walk from the nearest metro station, cavour. the hotel rooms are kinda old, and eventhough i didn't need it during my stay (early may), i've noticed there's no air conditioner, so probably not the best choice for travelers during the summer. the hotel does not have free internet or wifi access, eventhough it says free wifi in public area. the wifi charge is $10 for 24 hours and $7 for 12 hours.

Fantastic location near the Forum, Quiet at night. Friendly staff and the most lovely rooftop terrace for breakfasts and other meals.

Had a great 4 noght stay at the Hotel Forum. Right in the heart of the ruins but with state of the art wi-fi! Breakfast on the rooftop terrace a highlight along with a complimentary welcome glass of sparkling wine watching the sun set. Friendly and helpful staff and a very comfortable bed in a spotless, if small, room wuth a view. Would stay there again if lucky enough to be in Rome.
