Clean and good location - top value-for-money”
The Four Rivers Hostel is an excellent "home-base" to explore the bustling city of Yangon. The center of Yangon is just a short walk away, at the same time the hostel offers all the anemities needed to recharge the batteries (nice interior set-up, clean bath rooms, large beds etc.). Would definitely stay here again! We visited in late Dec 2015 and stayed for 2 nights in one of the smaller rooms with 3 beds.

Dorm but private space”
my stay at this hostel was very nice. the bed, the room, the facilities are all clean and nice. i stayed in a bed on the 2nd level which was pretty good for me, and what impressed was that they have a curtain so when i close it i almost had my own space (cool). wifi was a bit slow in the room but i found it was no trouble to go to the "living room" on the 2nd floor for stronger signal. the staff were all very friendly and trying to help. the only drawback maybe that although it is located not far from the Chinatown, it's still not very close to anywhere like Sule pagoda (the center point of Yangon), Boyogke market, or Shwe Dagon pagoda. one more thing is that when i asked the receptionist if there's any kinda renting bicycles service nearby, she said i can't since i need a license for that which is quite funny (and ridiculous i think), i asked for more details but she seemed cannot explain clearly.

Best sleep ever”
Had a great 2-day stay in Four Rivers. They furnish guests with a map and are very helpful with giving suggestions and making bus and tour arrangements. The hostel is pretty new and well maintained. The location is on a nice quiet street close to Chinatown and lots of shops.

Great Hostel, perfect location!”
We stayed as a group of 4 in the 4-bed room. The room wasn't ready when we got there but when it was it was perfectly good- clean, comfy beds, not too cramped. It was a great location- downtown Yangon is really great and within walking distance of the major landmarks. Breakfast was also fine. Overall really good value for money.

Great Location, Excellent Staff, Value for Money”
My friends and I were pleased with the services provided by this hostel. The staff were helpful and assisted in arranging for transportation to the places that we wanted to visit. The bed was superb and very comfortable. Excellent for backpackers like us. We truly needed a good rest. Hope that they could improve in the internet connection though. Overall, a great place to rest after exploring Yangon in the day! Thank you for the hospitality!!

Finally, a GOOD budget hostel option in Yangon!”
In Feb 2014, I had to spend around $50 for a guest house room that would not go for $20 elsewhere in SE Asia. This place opened last Nov by a Burmese SMU grad who returned from Singapore & is a much better value option: - Location. From the airport, a cab to the downtown should be $8 if you want a nosebleed negotiating. I paid $12 as it was late & I was tired. To the train station or any where near the downtown, it should be $2 or $3. - Food. Lotteria nearby + a City Mart supermarket are nearby. Breakfast is the usual toast, tea, coffee etc with the latter + drinking water available 24/7. - Wifi. Intermittent BUT that's a problem all over Myanmar & it varied day to day / different times of the day. Sometimes it just stopped working for hours. - Lockers. An annoyance as they are all by the desk area (in order to cram as many beds in the rooms). There are only a couple that can fit a laptop into them. Hence, I had to leave my laptop with the front desk. - Ants. They seem to be everywhere on the walls & even small ones on the bed but its SE Asia & not a highrise - ants come with the territory. No ants means they are spraying some real toxic stuff to control them! - Travel Bookings. There is a daily sign up sheet on the front desk for bus tickets. Put your name and where you are going before 9 am and they will take care of it. Assume its not going to to be the cheapest ticket as these are the nicer busses + they are probably not doing it for free but there won't be a hassle. - Staff. Are ok & keep the place reasonably clean. The owner speaks the best English - wait for him to be around if your English is bad or if you have a complex requirement. - Bathrooms. The water/showers stopped working for the ones on my floor on one of the days when I was there - had to trudge downstairs. Again, this may partly be a city and not hostel issue. - Beds. Curtains on them, lights and adaptors as you would expect with the newer hostels springing up everywhere.

Good option in Yangon”
Good location in downtown where you can walk to the busiest streets easily and to main attractions. Several showers/toilets and hot water working well. Comfortable beds and A/C worked well (very needed as it was 40ºC outside). Common room spacious although it could be more comfortable. Price not amazing but probably that's an issue in Yangon.

Great place”
It was a great place to stay for backpackers. It is very close to China Town. There is a City Money Changer(the rate is pretty ok) and a supermarket in the next street. The hostel is very clean and the bed is large. There is a light for each bed. The breakfast is just toast and jam. But it is usually available all the time as long as the bread is not eaten up. The staff are very friendly. You can get all kinds of help from them. This is the first time I stayed in a hostel. And this one left me a supreme impression of a hostel. Highly recommended.

Can say the best in Yangon ”
I tried 3 hostels in Yangon and this is the best one so far. It's acceptable clean and the staffs are helpful though they spoke kinda broken English. You can buy ticket to other cities in the hostel here as well. However, the wifi doesnt work so well.

Wooden chairs need to be modified ”
hotel review- 4 rivers needs more comfortable chairs or just a pad over the wooden chairs, breakfast is ok, slow internet or non working internet. free water, computer to use. Small lockers to use. Nice but a little inexperienced staff. One of the cheapest hostels in the city.

Comfy dorm beds in good location”
Good hostel. Wifi was not working but the youth hotel (agga) down the road let me use theirs whenever I wanted. Beds are comfy and have a private curtain. Instant coffee and boiling water is available at all times and toast is offered in the morning.

All good at 4Rivers”
A great place to get started and pick up some travel tips from fellow travellers in Myanmar. Everyone who I talked to really enjoyed staying at this hostel. It's new so everything (bathrooms, beds etc.) are all in new condition. Really friendly staff with the typical Myanmar smile. I'm very happy to recommend this place.

new, clean, backpacker friendly. great value for money. staff were helpful in booking buses and taxis for out of town trips. beds were covered in crisp, white linen, and the showers were clean (compared to myanmar hostel standards). one of the better hostels i've stayed in.

Reasonable price and convenient”
The hostel is generally nice, cheap, convenient, clean and friendly staff. What i like the most is, every bed has curtain to close when u sleep. There is hot water and "hair dryer", but the door is a bit squeaking and making loud sounds.

Great hostel”
Very clean, great location, nice facility. New hostel, still learning to be a hostel. Double booked my bed on the last night. They did my laundry and stretched my underwear and lost a sock. Staff had to be persuaded to find a day bus to Bagan; they didn't know of any but I took one a year ago. They found one.

Friendly, clean, laidback”
Loved my stay! Brand new place, excellent customer service, lovely staff. Internet very slow but steadily working for the basic phone apps. Bathrooms might be undernumberered when the hostel is reaching full capacity. Otherwise it's perfect!
