A recommander
great place to stay”
Just along the river, this hotel is on a very good location. The staff is very kind and the owner is charming and very attentive to the costumers. Rooms are disposed in a lovely garden, the swimming pool is cute. I recommand
Nice river side resort but quick far from the city”
I think this place is good for a get away from city life but if you only have one or two days to cover the city of Ayutthaya, it is better to stay close to the city. Can't get Grab here and taxi to town will cost 300-500B. With the help of the staff, we booked a full day Tuk-Tuk for 1000B to travel around. There is a very nice and large lotus pond in the compound. We have a room very close to the river and the night boat can produced loud noise. The floating restaurant run by the hotel is really nice but we do not have time to sample the food. The breakfast in the well maintained tropical garden is really superb experience. The bonus of staying here is we visited the Bang Pa In Palace which is on the way to Ayutthaya city temples. One special tips to those landed in Suvarnabhumi Airport, you can come direct to Ayutthaya instead of going to Bangkok as will take the same one hour to come here. The highway link is superv.
THINGS DON'T STAND ALONE!”
This place is been one of the most upsetting experience in my life. You will check in into a dirty, running down, careless place. Although the great potential and spot where it seats, this place is most likely a place heritage by a high-society's lady, were she thinks all it maintain and runs by nature! Staff 80% no thai, hence very difficult to communicate (even though I speak Thai) Restaurant ridiculously pricy - considering the bummer service, poor food quality (I got frozen prawns even though the property is seating on the river) and "cooking". Ah... don't forget that, you will be probably served after the whole family (owner relatives) will be served first! Room, very noisy from 15 years old air condition and most of all, be ready to sleep in pure dirth ! (animal, insect, dust. dirty linens etc etc..) Swimming pool - acceptable but again, I will not suggest to deep in ... It is a very shame to see a beautiful property left alone in the hand of greedy ownership that rolling the ball till the walls will collapse! It has so much potential and could be a very, very nice hotel - but at today I would not near raccomend, except; if you don't mind to pay as Hotel and stay in a guest house!... Plenty of choice near Ayutthaya (30km away) - bare you in mind ...
Didn't stay in end despite paying. ”
The hotel is 20km from Ayuttaya and not near anything else. Staff do not speak English. Arranged 2 hour boat trip round Ayuttaya in evening but was taken for 45 minute 2km ride up Chaupraya river. A complete waste of time so we cut our losses and went to a hotel in centre of vibrant city for the two night stay.
A bit run down hotel. Location on the river bank is very good.”
The hotel is run down so things there are not clean. Food at the hotel restaurant is OK , breakfast is rather pedestrian. Overall is OK if you need to be in that area because it looks like there is no other standard accommodation in that area. Not good enough to spend holiday there.
Good for 1-2 days”
This was a great resort. Now it's dependent on the owners controlling every aspect of guests' stay; 2 very nice elderly ladies that handle a bunch of useless staff. The hotel is very clean and the rooms and nice - with beautiful Thai style decor. Garden is poorly maintained and the "organic" stands for 3 plots of withering basil plants. This is a resort that was set to be grandiose but since it's a small family run one it can't be maintained like some big fancy cooperate run resorts in Pranburi. It's a family business and the younger generation are probably more intrigued with checking their FB pages and spending family money than making profit by running this very nice resort. One of the things that was the most bothersome is the swimming pool; it is green - seems like they are not using chlorine which is great, but at the same time nobody bothers to clean the algae. To conclude it is still a nice resort on the river; close to Bangkok, but it's lacking proper management (not blaming the very nice ladies). It could be a hidden gem if there was run by a manager with a vision. Would stay there again, despite being served cold fired eggs for breakfast.
Nature retreat from bangkok”
After two months without moving from bangkok due to an injury, my girlfriend and I wanted to stay in a green area and a comfy resort because i still have reduced mobility. This was perfect to relax and enjoy the river view, nice room, friendly staff and excellent thai food on the river platform. It's a bit pricy but these kind of hotel always are.
A True Gem ”
What a find!! This place is great in every aspect. It is a way from Ayuttahya, but tours can be arranged. The pool, tropical gardens and being along the with herbs from the garden including Lotus flowers. We went to a small local market not far and it was a real treat for myself and my Thai wife. We plan on returning in the next few months and partake in the spa. Can't say enough about how great the Ayuttahya Garden River Home was. Pricing is reasonable for Hotel and the food quite inexpensive.
relaxed and had a great time”
very pleasant stay. breakfast should have been better....the lunch and dinner options if you are there are much better. the place reflects owners taste for thai for long rides culture it is beautifully designed (southern europe and thai mix..(portuguese and an important presence in the area a long time ago).It is tucked between a lovely rice field and the river i.f you want to spend a long time at bang pa in and have other means to get there don't take the boat. its not a good deal. This is a great spot if you have you own car or a rental. If you want easy access to sites and attractions and local river restaurants, this is not the place unless you have the transportation. It is a nice place to hangout if you are enjoying your present company. Do take a boat around Ayutthaya..private arrangement at the dock is better than group and not so expensive..16th to 18th century in Ayutthaya..Thai KIngs, Portuguese adventurers, Muslim traders, Burmese invaders.quite an adventure
Nice hotel but out of the way”
I had a nice stay visiting friends close by. Its about half an hour to Ayutthaya by car but you can rent one there with driver for the day. If you just want to see Ayutthaya this is not for you and there are plenty of closer locations. The internet is a bit up and down but for a short stay its OK. The restaurant is Thai but nice and there is nothing else close. The Arts and Crafts centre is about 5 minutes away by car and worth a look.
A very beautiful and relaxing place to stay!”
I have a great time staying at Ayutthaya Garden River Home. The hotel is situated next to the Chao Phraya River and is decorated with a magnificent garden and a lotus pond. The staffs are extremely friendly and helpful. The negative thing about this hotel is that it is located quite far away from Ayutthaya City. It would be a nightmare if you have no car or other form of transportation as I see no public transport present in the area at all. Also, the internet connection is very slow and unstable.
good service and but remote place, rooms not good”
hotel was very empty although high season. 25 minutes drive to ayuttaya, so clearly not a city hotel, very remote. i did check the map when booking. hotels was very empty. owner took care of us personally. food was delicious. all hotel grown vegetables. quick and very fresh. rooms werent used for a while. smelled humid. overall, a bit too pricy for the quality of the rooms. however, service was very good and personal
The Ayutthaya Garden River Home is in a beautifully landscaped and quiet, peaceful environment. The food in the restaurant is excellent and the swimming pool was clean and relaxing. The staff was friendly and helpful. It is a perfect place to relax. However, for sightseeing it is a distance from the city. The staff arranged a private boat tour to the Summer Palace which is closer by than the other attractions.
The room was clean, bright and had amazing views over the river and garden. The staff were attentive, great with the children and nothing was too much trouble. Great place, even better staff a great experience.
what a lovely hotel. the staff were fantastic and nothing was too much trouble for them. the restaurant food was lovely and what a huge breakfast we got. will definitely go there again in summer because the heavy rain spoilt it a little bit
