Just had the most wonderful stay at Chateau Yering. It met all the highest standards.

Tired”

Beautiful building but in need of some refurbishment. For a luxury hotel it seemed strange to be greeted by stuffed toys in reception and on the bed. The bed was comfortable but the mould in the shower was off putting TV was so small it couldn’t be operated by the remote from the bed. Was disappointed overall. Can’t really recommend.

Beautiful building ”

This is a beautiful building and our room was beautifully appointed. The Melba suite was a great size and we had a roll away bed for our daughter. The staff were excellent and made us feel really welcome. My only criticism would be the grounds. They could really do with a full time gardener to add some tlc and bring them back to life. Beautiful old homesteads always have beautifully manicured gardens and unfortunately Chateau Yering does not.

We absolutely loved our stay. The location, staff and facilities were amazing. Special mention to the cafe breakfast staff that were very efficient and attentive. We are already planning our next stay!

Great historic hotel. Found the room very spacious cosy, clean and comfortable. The reception staff was friendly and very helpful . I only gave three star for Staff and Facilities because of our unpleasant experience at the Sweet water cafe. There were about four waitresses on duty when we walked into the cafe for breakfast and two chefs in the kitchen . The place was not packed at that time. We were given a menu, we sat and waited for the waitress to take our order. No one came and then we see more guests coming in. To which my husband walked to the counter and was told by the waitress she will come to take our order. Another few more minutes of waiting ( that is fine ) before she came to take the order and she also took the order from another table who arrived after us. I was appalled when the other table was served their breakfast and then followed by other tables who came much later than us. There were no apologies and the hot breakfast was bland! A manager is needed in the cafe

In need of some TLC”

Hotel is looking very tired. It is in need of some TLC. Rooms are comfortable and clean. However, hotel itself needs to be updated whilst still keeping its 19th century charm. Meal very pricey for what it was.

Best 3 Hotels in my life”

Classic and beautiful hotel located in Yering station winery. Very good for wine tasting in Yarra Valley. Clean room, beautiful garden and pool, and delicious dinner. I stayed more than 100 hotels in the world, I think this hotel is the best 3 hotels in my life.

BEAUTIFUL OLD WORLD HOTEL, EXCEPTIONALLY CLEAN. BREAKFAST WAS EXTREME;LY DISAPPOINTING FOR THE MONEY THAT YOU PAY FOR THIS PLACE.

The place is tired.Decor is 1980's version of colonial and is heavy handed. Tv was very small. Breakfast was barely edible. Dry and unappetising.Worst of all though the staff at breakfast were perfunctory at best,Could not care less at best.

The hotel was nice and clean and the staff were brilliant. But... Upon arrival we noticed that the property was looking rather tired and run down, granted it's a very old building, we still felt that for the price we paid we thought it would be pure luxurious considering that this property is advertised as such. As we arrived at the front door there wasn't anyone to greet us and take our bags and we also found it very impersonal that I had to leave the reception desk and my wife standing there to move the car to the carpark - remembering how much we paid for 1 night. To give you a comparison, we paid half this rate to stay at the QT in Melbourne, for a top suite and we were met at the door of our car on the street upon arrival and our car taken by a valet service. We also felt that the dining experience was way too expensive and decided to eat out in Yarra Glen for half the price. As stated before, the staff were friendly, informative and the breakfast service was lovely. Its a shame that we probably wouldn't recommend this hotel to our age group (30-40) This property has the potential wow factor, if only someone would bring the amenities and maintenance into the 21st century.

Overnight at Chateau Yerring”

The staff were extremely helpful and courteous and welcoming. I found out after we checked in that they have a special that includes 3 course dinner at the restaurant for an additional $60 per couple. The staff were happy to change the booking to the Wallace package. No ums, no ahs. just did it! We loved it!

Terrible food!”

Food of below average standard and very overpriced. Some front desk staff dismissive to the point of rudeness however, our waiter at dinner was very good. Got the distinct impression they are really only interested in wedding business and everything else is a pain!

Accommodation and Breakfast was great. Dinner was far too little for far too much money. ”

Dinner was highly pretentious and left us feeling hungry. We will not be returning.

We only went for one night, would have liked it to be longer. We ate at Eleonore's Restaurant. It was beautiful.
