Mon copain et moi avons dormi seulement deux nuits à cette auberge. Cela dit, notre séjour a été très agréable. D'abord, la chambre et les pièces communes étaient très propres, voire même très « design ». L'accueil était également excessivement agréable. La localisation s'est avérée aussi parfaite pour nous, puisqu'elle nous permettait de nous rendre à l'aéroport (Narita) via un seul train, situé à quelques mètres de l'auberge. Le seul bémol : il y a très peu de douches. Par exemple, sur le 4e étage, il n'y en avait qu'une seule à partager. De plus, tout comme dans plusieurs auberges au Japon, le coût des serviettes et des cafés était notamment assez dispendieux. Somme toute, je recommande cette auberge sans hésiter!

Pro and cons”
The double room I rented is small but cozy and the access to shower room and toilet is just beside the entry door. The staff can speak and understand english language. t Toilets and shower room clean and well maintained. I think you need to set a rule for not using washing machine at 00:00 and you need to provide more main dish beside curry.

Very nice staff and very clean place”
Thanks to the staff who was very nice. The place is very new and clean. The beds in dormitories are confortable. I definitely recommend this place! And one very convenient point, you have the Asakusa subway line which goes directly from Kuramae to Haneda Airport (If you have a Subway pass, you'll have to pay +300Yen when arriving at Haneda) and it takes about 45min

Casual Cool ”
Relaxing quiet place with a cool chill music cafe below. Staff is friendly, helpful, and can speak English. Located near the metro with easy access to the airport, it’sa short bicycle or walk away is a bustling tourist area. Arrive at the hostel and chill. Very few drawbacks. It’s very clean (thorough daily cleaning) in the main sections despite dust in corners (?weekly/monthly special cleaning). Although a couple people might not realize they need to not only keep the conversation down in the sleeping space but also need to be careful with door slamming or crinkling paper in the dorm space, most of the guests are aware that they are in shared space so a restful sleep is usually possible. Have a simple breakfast in the morning with a uniquely delicious potato salad. Enjoy various flavorful coffees and chai while refreshing from the days journey or tour, do teleworking, read a book, watch the video film, or chat with friends. It’s a modest hostel but comfortable cozy and well located.

Everything is great except for the non-existence of bidet on the 1st floor and 5th floor”
The stay would've been perfect if there were bidets on toilets. I was expecting it! Since the place looked cozy, I didn't bother to look into the presence of bidets. I think the hostel should add them as most hostels in Japan had it installed already. On the other hand, I think the hostel's pretty great overall! Great location! It is surrounded by so many stations and train lines. There's even a station nearby on a walking distance with a direct airport access. The staff was super nice. The vibe was really cool. The beds were comfortable.

Cute and cosy hostel. Staff were so friendly, lovely place to come back to in the evening. Single room smaller than expected but fine for sleeping in. All new facilities. Super close to metro Karumae Station. Walking distance to Asakusa and Senjo-ji temple. Loved my stay here.

Nice stay, exceptional staff”
I enjoyed staying with Focus for a few reasons. It was my landing pad for moving to japan before I found my apartment. So, my Japanese is still very limited. The private rooms are small but it is to be expected at a hostel for such an affordable price. The common showers and toilets are very clean and plentiful. The first floor cafe/lounge is cozy and relaxing. The ability to rent a camera for free is very cool too! What made my particular stay exceptional was that, while staying here, I tripped and broke my foot. I had only been in japan for four days and had no idea what to do. There was a lot of pain and confusion further complicated by my own tight schedule and jet lag. But the staff helped me immediately with ice and later finding a hospital for me, calling me a cab, and walking me to the cab. Once I was in my cast, they assisted me with my bags, navigating the building, and opening doors. They are excellent people who do very good work and I strongly recommend staying here.

HIPSTER HOSTEL CLOSE TO KURAMAE STATION”
Unfortunately we only had the pleasure to stay there for 5 hours so we can not rate the sleep quality. In general they were very kind to store our luggage from 10:30 until check in at 14:00 which is usually first granted from 15:00. A few people were hanging out in the lobby which is also the breakfast room and reception and kitchen. Everything looked very nice and well designed. The rooms (walled with pressed wood plates) are small but clean - windows can be opened. As in every hostel you have a couple of regulations: Slippers, mask, handwash, gurgle, etc.. There was only one shower cabin on the 3rd floor with shampoo provided. The washroom had three sinks so enough space for the people based on that floor. Fortunately they had an elevator as we arrived with 4 bags. Thanks for the stay and hopefully you stay open for the few travellers left during these times.

Local area near tourist spot, with a small downstairs cafe. Walk to the tourist spots or bicycle. Small shared kitchenette allows light cooking. Friendly staff. Cool cafe has delicious coffee and tea. Sometimes the pleasant smell of hojicha fills the air. Seats at downstairs cafe are not free but worth the price of the coffee. Nonsmoking so the flavor of the coffee can be tasted. Relaxing music.

Cozy Place with Cafe”
Superb location, a short walk from tourist district but not right in the noise of it. It’s very comfortable for a simple hostel and except for some dust spots, very clean., There’s a small shared kitchenette but it’s adequate. You will need to pay to use the cafe side or get some curry but it’s worth it.

Very nice with small kitchen and table space. People are normally careful about loud voices at night (signs request keeping voices down, thankful,y) BUT sometimes someone is NOT careful in the middle of the night or early morning with door slamming or shutting loudly. It makes a huge difference in a good sleep. Sadly there are no signs for this or cushioning on the door. This aspect of the facilities is a problem. People need signs to remind them and some cushioning is needed on the doors and maybe a sound buffer on the bottom of the door (a rolled up towels or clothes can help buffer the door banging. Apparently people late at night or early morning don’t realize what they are doing. On days when this doesn’t happen, the hostel allows good comfortable sleep. It’s a lovely space and near the historic district.

The hostel is near to the subway station and the places around are quiet. The bar& restaurant downstairs always smells good when I pass through to go upstairs but unfortunately, I haven't had the chance to order food or drink. Hope next time when I come, I will try. The hostel is great, you should book and stay here. If they provide any breakfast, that will be better.

Focus Kuramae, its a a great place to stay! Clean and relaxing, the staff are lovely! Although its not situated close to the main areas to stay like Shibuya ect its still very easy to get there via the metro. Focus Kuramae felt like home and I would definitely stay there again:)

Cool Modern Hostel”
The hostel was really modern and had a cool feel to it. The staff were friendly and it felt secure. The only downside was the mattress in the double room we had, it was tired and sunk in the middle so not the most comfortable.

Excellent all around”
I had a pleasant stay there and would go back there again. It was easy journey from Haneda Airport (45 mins, 510 yen) with only one change (at Shinagawa). It also locates within easy walking distance from trendy food venues and buzzing Asakusa. I also managed to enjoy a stroll along Sumida-gawa (river). The only issue that I had was their 'no cash' policy. My oversea credit card didn't go through somehow to pay 200 yen, a charge to leave my large and heavy luggages at the front desk as I arrived s few hours earlier than check in time. It was resolved in the end but it would have been nicer if no charge as that's the usual case in many other hostels / hotels that I had stayed in my time. Although I was too tired to stay up to take an advantage of its lounge turning into an atmospheric lounge bar nighttime, it looked very chilled and groovy.
