Its absolutely below standards of Hilton in other countries:1: service was very poor---I’ve informed the receptionist to fix the water before we go out for a meeting at morning, surprisingly nothing has done when we were back at 6 pm, when I was rechecking with the desk again, they had no clue what I was talking about, apparently the two shifts are not having a proper communication about the what they do and the shift leader was even acting rude , he literally told me: we don’t have a room to change for you. 2. The room facility was very old and poor, they don’t even have a roof light and the steel handle and the mirror in the bathroom were falling off!!!, 3. I stayed in Gold Tulip, Sheraton, Marriott in Addis and nothing poor have happened like this, it is so disappointing and I will never stay in Hilton Addis again.
Oldest and worst Hilton I have stayed in”
This hotel is not nearly up to the normal Hilton standard. Although some of the public areas are being renovated, the rooms are very old and scruffy. The location is also not good as it is away from the main town so not easy to eat elsewhere. The airport pickup van is also old and scruffy. This was my first visit to Addis so wasnt sure about standard of other hotels, so felt that Hilton standard was consistent......it is not. There are many new hotels in Addis, available at near half the price......dont waste your money.
Rooms need renovation! Staff excellent
big hotel in Addis Ababa”
very big hotel complex
N.ice but needs to improve”
The AA Hilton gets by on it's old reputation and it's not enough. Yes there is a sauna and pool and the breakfast is nice but needs variety. After two days its boring. Although it's in the city center, the Hilton isn't near much and the staff doesn't help with taxis. Staff in the outdoor restaurant: older staff members are rude and lazy-the younger/newer ones are helpful though. Rooms are small and old and in great need of upgrade. It's a nice place for your first Ethiopian experience, but you overpay for an average stay.
Need of some real maintentance”
I like staying here as the staff are wonderful and the breakfast is good. What really lets it down is the std of the rooms - starting to fall apart with bathroom and carpet pretty grotty
A bit pricey but comfortable”
Hilton in Addis is fine, but could be SO much better with a few tweaks. One, don't charge extra for internet. Bed size and room size need to fit larger groups of people. Things need to be updated. Good location, staff are nice and food is good. Most things cost more than they should though.
A hotel in decline”
Okay. Not a 5 star hotel
Hilton all the way”
Definitely not 5 star”
Definitely not a 5 star experience. Staff are okay, but service was slow. Rooms are outdated and need renovation. Pool area is great, early morning swims were the best part of our stay.
Oldest Hilton I have ever stayed in. ”
Good base from which to explore Addis, if you are not on a budget. We found it very expensive for what it was. Outdoor pool area is quite nice, but rooms are outdated.
Old hotel, needs a renovation.”
Hilton in Addis is not good value for money. Radisson looks much nicer and less expensive. However, the Hilton has some charm and character, it still feels like you are in Africa - not totally Westernized.
Only stay here for the pool. ”
We stayed here as a grown family of 4 over the holidays in 2014. This is a good base from which to explore Addis, but we found it totally overpriced. That said, we returned because we loved the pool and outdoor areas. If you don't enjoy those things, or wouldn't use them, you'd be better off staying elsewhere.
A nice respite in Addis”
Overall, my stay was nice, with what you would expect from the Hilton. I especially enjoyed the outdoor Pool, a highlight of the facility, and would go back, if only for that!
room condition and specially bathroom quality is ”
Ok, need to improve on customer service
Great Time at the Hilton over Christmas”
Spent two days here over Christmas, and it couldn't have been better. A nice treat in all of the ways you would expect from the Hilton, and a real treat over the holiday!
Never hire the travel agency at this hilton”
Shower didn't work, temperamental phone - worked only some times worked, bad air conditioning, and taxi service worse of all.
Relax between flights”
Good place to spend day when my internal flight arrived in the morning and long haul flight did not leave until the middle of the night. Shame that the shuttle only meets international flights - had to make our own way to hotel as arrived on domestic flight. Good list of cocktails on menu which was to be a real treat after spending two weeks working and travelling through rural Tigray - bar staff however did not know how to make them or even know ingredients! After waiting nearly an hour after ordering and with chasing a number of times received our order with no resemblance to the drinks on menu. Don't put things on menu you clearly have no concept of - should have ordered a beer!
Not worth the money”
Hotel is very old, noisy the rooms are obsolete, Gym was ok but not clean Price: very expensive
