Excellent Hotel in a great location”
Great location if you are trying to stay away from the typical tourist areas in Tokyo. Was about a 10 minute walk to Shimbashi station, which allows for easy access all across Tokyo. Cool little food district by the JR station with lots of options. Hotel had good breakfast, rooms were large (for Japan) and sparkling clean. Perfect for couples, and would recommend to anyone travelling to Japan.

A delightful, calming retreat”
This hotel was an unexpected treasure. Friendly staff ushered me in off the noisy streets and into a serene lobby where masterfully brewed matcha was freely available. Everything about the chic, cozy room was comfortable and stylish, down to the light fixtures designed to look like bamboo whisks. The staff gave very reliable recommendations for food and shops that fit my needs perfectly. Honestly, I wish I could have stayed longer!

Great atmosphere and very modern yet still authentic Japanese”
We stayed here on new years eve. Great hotel, very kind and helpfull staff, even compared to high Japanese standards. We room is equiped with all modern gadgets that makes your stay very comfi (e.g. Check out in your room via button, so no need to pass the lobby). Only thing we needed to get used to was the sink in the bedroom instead of the bathroom. But that was no biggie.

My boyfriend and I stayed at Hotel 1899. We got to the hotel early, and they checked me into my room. They have complimentary tea at the front desk. The staff was super friendly. The hotel was super clean, and it’s close to everything.

We have been serving some roasted Japanese tea as a seasonal one and will change to Japanese black tea next month, which we think all the guests will never get tired of their experiences. We would be so happy if you enjoyed yourselves here. Our hotel is inspired by Japanese green tea culture and therefore, our hotel furniture and amenities are related to Japanese green tea by the way. The shape of the side light by the bed is like a Chasen; a tea whisk for example. In addition, our shampoo, body soap and hair conditioner are including with some catechin, vitamin C and collagen, which are popular especially for women. Understated top quality zenfully oozes in everything this hotel is. Don't be fooled by its unsuspecting outward appearance. It's set in a quiet neighborhood with a side entrance that requires a lift-ride to its reception. Behind this muted appearance, the hotel is a polished gem. Staff is friendly, helpful and attentive. Rooms, true to Tokyo standard, are tight, but despite this, we never felt cramped while staying with the excessive needs to attend a destination wedding and all the fun purchases and gifts that returned to our room each day. I wouldn't have minded its being a tad closer to Shimbashi station since we walked a lot, but coming back to this hotel was worth it every time.

Nice hotel and fantastic staff”
Enjoyed the stay, the facilities are pretty new, the room is nice and clean. Staffs are really friendly and helpful, they are pretty good at English. My wife loves the complementary matcha cookies and tea. The only thing to complain is it is a little bit far away from the station ~10 min walk - walkable but tired with luggages.

Brand new with a touch of famed Japanese Omotenashi ”
Standard Corner is ideal if you're a solo traveller while Deluxe Corner is definitely much more comfortable for 2 persons. Brand new and it takes a good 10-minute walk from Shimbashi Station without a luggage, Sushi Zanmai is within walking distance too. I actually prefer living in this neighborhood, it's pretty quiet at night time you can get better rested. Breakfast is wonderful and dining venue is brightly decorated, staff at the front reception are also very courteous and helpful. I would likely return the next time I'm in Tokyo. We had a fabulous stay at 1899. The room, although typically small for Japan, was extremely efficiently laid out and functional with several welcome features. The bathroom actually had space for two of us to be in there at the same time and the bathtub, complete with shower curtain and good water pressure, was almost full size by North American standards. A portion of the ample bathroom mirror was heat so as not to steam-up during a shower. The main room was outfitted with smart — and ample — lighting. There was actually enough room on either side of the queen bed to allow ingress or egress. The room came with a tablet and wifi-enabled smart phone, and big screen tv. We even had a view of the top of the Tokyo Tower. The included breakfast items were sufficiently varied, although options did not change during our four day stay. The reception staff was outstanding. Of particular note were two young ladies, Miss Naiko and Miss Y***shida, were very charming and helpful both in helping

Very nice and quiet corner room ”
Standard double room is small but very nice for a solo traveller while Corner Deluxe Twin is absolutely wonderful, spacious bathroom with great shower facilities. I also love having breakfast here, the staff are very courteous and pleasant. The hotel offers wonderful premium tea from Uji from 3pm which is a nice treat. Although it's a bit further away from nearby station but it's situated in a nice and quiet neighborhood so you're able to rest comfortably.

i was in Tokyo for 3 days and i stayed at 1899 Hotel for 2 nights the hotel room was relatively big and cleanliness of it is exceptional. I especially loved the theme of the hotel. it is modern Japanese style with Green Tea inspiration. I loved the breakfast too that it provided. (Japanese home style breakfast) the only downside is the location it is 9? 10min walk to the Shimbashi station. However, it didnt matter for me too much so i would definately go back if i visit Tokyo

Really nice hotel. Very friendly staff. Unique lobby. Rooms a little small but not too bad. They are well appointed, well lit and comfortable. OK location a bit of a walk to the Metro. Which is only a problem when it rains. Lobby is on the 2nd floor which is a little different. Room access is only via elevator, only stairs are the fire escape. This makes the lobby access slightly troublesome. BUT, over all a really good hotel in a quiet neighborhood. Would recommend especially for younger adults.

It was a nice urban respite after a long day being out in Tokyo. Beautiful, squeaky clean, and very cute themed with tea and its culture. Breakfast was delicious too and the staff is very friendly and helpful. The room was small as you'd expect in Japan considering the price and it is a little bit of a walk from Shinbashi Station, but a great value for money overall.

Amazing service, very impressive”
Our stay was memorable. Staff was very friendly, the service was excellent, there is always nice little surprises, lots of free bottle of water, serve free traditional tea everyday, etc. The room size was small but very comfortable and functional. The design of the hotel is very nice too, it shows that it’s well tough. Location is a bit further away but it’s nice quite surrounding. Very recommended.

Great boutique hotel”
Nice clean boutique tea themed hotel. Really appreciate the little touches with the delicious daily matcha waffle treats. Breakfast was also great with a good variety. They really carried the tea theme of the hotel to various components of the stay. We had a great stay overall but did wish we were just a few blocks closer to Shimbashi Station.

Great urban respite with tea theme!”
It is a great spot to relax after a full day in Tokyo. It is squeaky clean, functional, and cute themed with tea and its culture. The room was small as you'd expect from Japan for the price, and a little bit of a walk from Shinbashi Station, but it is a great value for money.
