Very close to the old medina”

The location was really nice for us to walk around the whole city and the staff was kind. * We had to carry our luggage on the bumpy pavement though. And we were not satisfied with one thing as below. The faucet of the shower booth was hardly turned off fully so we had to let the water continue to drop. * We wish the faucet would be turned off more smoothly.

Without maintenance but staff helpful”

Room facilities without maintenance. Toilet not fix it well, faucet not fix (afriad it will broken when use), toilet door cant close it well. Staff are helpful, help us move the luggage to 3rd floor. Specially thanks for the receiption girl and the boy. But they introduce an impolite taxi driver for us, guess the staff dont know the driver impolite.

very good location but not very comfortable. Had many problems assocxitaed with its bathrooms. Had to change room due water pipes burst , and it was on and off. Down below construction and renovation was going on , uncontrolled and very disturbing. Unable to understand why AGODA gives five stars status to such locations.

Located just next to the main square and only a few staircase steps away so you don’t have to lug your luggage up and down the myriad of alleys. Cute cozy room.

Great small hotel on an even better small town”

Quite good stay, Dar Mounir is steps from the main plaza so couldn't be better located, breakfast is good, staff very friendly, but the best part was that the rooms are beautifully decorated

Beautiful hostel , but far away from the bus stop”

Wifi speed is great ! Nice people and staff,Hostel Design is fancy , But the only one things is not good is the shower head was unstable, the water come up not stable, some water is cold some water is very hot.and It had a sound when the water come up from the shower head

Some staff rude/ room too dark and cold. No heat. ”

The man who greeted us was very arrogant. He rushed through checking us in and had very interest in helping us. However another young man who worked on the desk was amazing. Even though he didn't speak English he was wager to help. He walked us to the bus ticked office which and translated for us and made sure we got what we needed. The breakfast was covered in flies. They said we could have omelettes but would just bring bread. Not a huge deal. Lots of restaurants close by. The room was incredibly dark. I couldn't even read a book before bed. Very cold room. No windows and heat not working. Not a comfortable stay.

friendly and helpful staff”

After visiting Marakech and Fez, certainly it was a pleasant stay at Dar Mounir, all staffs were very helpful and nice. Although there was a slight issue about room booking, we got smaller room at first day checked in where we initially booked a larger room, hence they changed the room on next day morning. All staffs was very helpful in giving informations and recommendation places to go, restaurants, transportation suggestion and activities, which all their recommendations was fit with what we want. We would certainly recommend Dar Mounir for stay at Chefchaouen and love to go back there someday.

Great position and friendly staff”

The hotel was easy to locate in the heart of the Medina. The staff spoke great English and were very helpful and the Internet was fast. The views from the terrace were stunning and the peace was amazing! The decor was quaint and very Moroccan, but the beds were not as comfortable as they could be. I loved the copper bathroom fittings and tiled shower, however the bathroom had to be negotiated so as not to flood the floor and if you are a little on the large side, I don't rate your chances of getting in the shower at all! Transport to and from the location is at a premium, so book early for bus tickets!

Beautiful place + super friendly receptionist”

We were in Chefchaouen for only one night and picked this hotel based on other reviews on agoda. First, the hotel is not hard to find. Once you get to the medina's main square (Plaza Uta el-Hammam), which you cannot miss, the hotel has a restaurant by the same name at the square. Stand facing the restaurant and head down the path to the left of it to get to the hotel. That said, getting to the hotel from the nearest taxi drop-off is quite a walk, not so much due to distance but it's slopes and steps all the way. There was guy at reception while we were there and he is super friendly. Helped us turn on the heater, explained to us about the city and where to get/see what, and even suggested that the Louisa tea will help soothe my cough. He upgraded us to a big room free-of-charge as the hotel was not full that day.

Well situated and comfortable single ”

Arriving to hotel is easy, hail a petit taxi from bus terminal to kasbah medina and walk to Dar Mounir Cafe and hang a left at the kasbah taking the blue archway on the right after the Banque Populaire ATM. The single room was adequate for solo traveller. Especially welcome is the double or queen sized bed, extra duvets in nearby cabinet and air conditioning as well as good air through windows systems. Descending through the blue markets you can easily arrive at the ascending loops of the roads and places like Chez Aziz where you can have excellent burger and fries for under two USD. I was especially happy with Yusuf the reception clerk. He brought me on request to a very reasonable artisanal cooperative where I was happy to pay a reasonable price for a well fitting hand made half Jaleba with bands of lamb, black goat and camel wool of a soft and non-itchy or scratchy quality, possibly useful for November in parts of Spain. Even buying a real cactus silk carpet was a good experience not only when compared to Marrakesh prices and sales techniques but due to proper Berber trading culture and decent price negotiation.

Great hotel with fantastic view and friendly staff”

Great location, right on the periphery of the main square. Very easy to find. The terrace offers breathtaking views of the surroundings, esp of the mountains and the unused old spanish mosque. Rooms are spacious than all the other riads we've been throughout our trip, staff were really friendly and helpful. Overall, good quality for money.
