L'emplacement est vraiment génial, dans la gare même de Kyoto, qui est à la fois un monument d'architecture contemporaine méritant la visite, et une petite agglomération à elle seule, avec entre autres tous les services, un très grand choix de restaurants, des boutiques de luxe et même un grand magasin (l'Isetan). Nous avons beaucoup apprécié d'être tout de suite à l'hôtel en débarquant du Shinkansen de Tokyo, et avons d'autant plus goûté le calme de notre chambre que nous pensions qu'elle serait peut-être bruyante étant donné qu'elle donnait en partie sur les quais. En fait la situation de l'hôtel est vraiment idéale et facilite beaucoup la vie du touriste : aucune perte de temps à l'arrivée ou au départ, et pendant le séjour l'organisation des visites en ville est rendue très aisée par le fait des nombreuses lignes de bus qui passent par la gare. Il en va de même pour les excursions à Nara ou Osaka en train à partir de la gare même. C'est un hôtel que nous recommandons sans réserve et où nous aurons plaisir à retourner si nous revenons à Kyoto!!!

First trip to Kyoto, and with only 2 nights here we decided to choose a hotel that is near to Kyoto Station. Best decision ever! This hotel is situated right above the station, location is the best and unbeatable. The international breakfast buffet is fantastic! There are also lots of places to dine and shop around the area. Thanks to the hotel we got a free room upgrade which was a pleasant surprise for our anniversary stay! The staff were all professional and ready to help, we dropped off our luggages in the morning upon arrival and they helped us to store until check-in time. Rooms are very clean and spacious, we liked that the shower, WC and vanity are separated. Overall we had a memorable stay and we love Kyoto very much! Thank you :)

We booked two rooms for our family holiday at Hotel Granvia Kyoto and had a very pleasant stay. The staff were friendly and helpful, the breakfast was excellent, and the amenities were complete. The rooms were typical in size for a Japanese hotel, but felt slightly more spacious than expected. One of the hotel’s biggest advantages is its exceptional location. Situated in the heart of Kyoto’s transportation hub, it offers extremely convenient access, especially for travelers arriving by Shinkansen. The location is perfect. It is right at Kyoto station, which has every train system in Japan. I could literally get anywhere. Also, so many shops and restaurants in the train station itself and right outside the station. ATMs are plentiful. I was worried that I forgot to get a ICOCA card at the airport. It didn't matter because there were so many machines to get one and refill when I needed. The hotel's staff are so sweet and accommodating. I had to switch rooms and I thought they were just holding my luggage for me for when I got back. No, it was waiting for me in my new room. I only changed rooms because I booked the last night separately since I extended my stay but the room I had was sold out. So, I booked a nicer room. The first room was clean but the carpet was pretty dirty. They provided slippers but I didnt want anything to fall. The second room, the carpet was lighter in color but very clean. Room service was great. Nice selection even at 10pm.

The hotel is ideal if you need to stay as close as possible to the Kyoto Station, which will depend on your itinerary and travels. There is easy access to Shinkansen, limited express trains and local trains, food and shopping options plenty, both within the station building or around it (front and back of station building). However, if you don't need to be near the Kyoto Station especially if you are spending your time mostly within Kyoto, there are many other cheaper options in other locations.

Everything about this hotel is great, from staff to location to cleanliness. The only issue that came up was that despite asking for a non-smoking room far in advance, we were assigned a smoking room and when we brought that up at the check-in time, they said the only available non-smoking room requires an upgrade and I ended up pay extra since I can't stand the smell.

This hotel is clean, staff are great, easy check in and check out. This hotel is located right above the Kyoto station. There’s an entrance without going outside the station. Very convenient. Ground floor is the bus depot, bullet train station and other trains to go around. Lots of places to eat and shop within the same block. Once you get in the hotel it’s a different place from the hustle and bustle outside. Japan hotels are usually very tight in space. The hotel room I got is the usual western size where there’s ample of space. A little work/dining table and a chaise. Very spacious. It is surrounded by lots of places to eat, shops, there’s 7-11 at the ground floor for essentials, fresh food, water, snacks etc. One thing I would suggest is they add more lighting in the hallways. It’s a preference for safety. I recommend this hotel and will stay here next time.

Above average room size with typical Japanese amenities and quality of service. Certain elements of the room are becoming dates such as carpet but nothing that impacted the quality of stay. There were no noise issue from pedestrian or train traffic and our rooms looked out directly on the platform. Good service and helpful staff. Access to surrounding attractions and rail makes life very easy. Hotel stored luggage before and after departure so we could easily make the best of our time in Kyoto. If you can get a room at an affordable price I highly recommend.

My friend and i stayed 4D3N at the Grandvia Kyoto. The location is very good. It is located at the Kyoto train Staion and is very convenient to take the train to anywhere you wish to visit. It is also near good shopping malls. The hotel is very clean and service is excellent.

It was a great location as we needed to go to Nagoya to Ghibli park so being in the station itself is very convenient. We spent a day at Kyoto National museum and the 1001 Kannon temple which is within walking distance. Also the food above the station/ISETAN were great so didn’t have to travel far. Also easy to navigate around as there are ample shopping and Kombini for snacks in the station. Saved a lot of time if you are only staying a short time in Kyoto. Rooms are quite sizeable and clean.

We stayed twice during our Kyoto visit . Outstanding location , right on the Kyoto station , making it super convenient to catch trains . We stayed for 7 days and it was amazing as a. 5 minute walk from the. room yo the track made the side trips so convenient . The concierge staff was too helpful . Mayumi and the entire team were just outstanding and super responsive . They assisted in booking our bus trips and even in collection of the tickets . Memorable , enjoyable stay topped by the positive and helpful attitude of the staff. Will love to stay again ! The only aspect which needs a change is the fitness centre timings . Can’t restrict to 7 am to 9 pm in a 5 star property ! Cheers

I found it difficult to locate the hotel as we arrived from Kyoto station which was already very overwhelming. Room looked nothing like the pictures on Trivago and was badly lit and small. The bed was not very comfortable. The staff and location are excellent but there was no mention about an over 18 pool policy until we got to the hotel. No mention of it on Trivago, the hotel's own website and even the information on the tv, we only found out when my daughter who was already in her bathingbsuit arrived at the pool. I was disappointed in general, we came from a Double Tree hotel stay in Osaka which exceeded our expectations and we imagined the same if not better from the Granvia, a more expensive hotel.

It’s also right in front of Nidec Kyoto Tower and surrounded by plenty of shopping and dining options. The breakfast was excellent, with a wide variety of delicious options to start the day. While access to the room from this huge hotel can take considerable time from the lifts, the location is excellent for easy access of the Kyoto station. The room was clean and spacious with good amenities.

After visiting friends in Shiga, spent a day in Kyoto before flying out of Kansai International Airport. Booked this hotel because of its prime location atop Kyoto Station. It was so hot (35 degrees C) and humid outside, I didn’t want to walk around the city with luggage. I arrived at the hotel at 2 pm and they let me check in early for free. Was so nice to put my stuff in the room and then explore the city a lot lighter. Kyoto Station has so many shops and restaurants that are connected. Isetan Department Store is also located at one end of the station. If you are interested in exploring parts of the city, the subway is connected and so easy to access with a transit card like Suica or Pasmo (Apple Wallet compatible). The room itself was clean, but a little dated. The bathtub gurgled at times after I used the sink. But, the bed was comfy and the room extremely quiet. Got a good night’s sleep. With the breakfast buffet, I was able to fuel up without breaking a sweat. Selection was good with both Western and Japanese offerings. I checked out and just headed down the escalator to board the Haruka Express train to KIX airport on platform 30, which was super convenient. Took a lot of stress out of the equation. I would definitely stay here again for the convenient location, quality service, and comfort. Thank you, Hotel Granvia Kyoto!

Kyoto Granvia is the best of the three Granvia in the Kansai regions. My husband and I loved it for its (a) accessibility; (b) comfort; (c) design and decor; (d) staff excellence. For the 6 nights of stay, we were given English newspapers - Japan Times for 3 of the nights. We have been reading news articles online and it’s so refreshing to be reading news in hardcopy. We actually brought them home as a keepsakes! Will we stay at Kyoto Granvia again? It’s a resounding yes! 🙌

We booked the hotel because we felt we were getting 4* facilities for 3* pricing. It is only after we arrived that we realized that the location of the hotel was so good. Whether you fly to Osaka or arrive by Shenkansen, you need only take an escalator to another world and your hotel. Also, almost all tours leave from the vacinity of the Central station, so you only need stroll from bed to a an early morning day tour. Finally, the station design and amenities are a destination in its own right to enjoy. I would say the hotel can do better with tourists. I may have seen only a few non tourists at the property over my 6 days, yet English was not widely spoken and the concierge was only open 10-5pm!!! What if I need help (which we did) booking a restaurant outside of these hours? the front desk was perplexed by my request and could not help... But the staff all tried and all smiled all the time- that goes a long way

The hotel is a part of Kyoto station. It can be accessed after you clear the JR ticket gates at the central exit but before you exit the station. On the right you will find an escalator going upto the hotel. The rooms are luxurious and had superb amenities. We loved it but if you are super fussy you may find the AC control slightly old. It had closets and a safe. The staff was superb. The hotel had bell boys to take luggage to your rooms. The Breakfast spread was outstanding with delicious fruits, an Omelette station and just about everything. It was slightly expensive but worth it. While it did not have washing machines in the hotel it offered laundry services and there was a laundry around 8 minutes walking distance. The location was great with plenty of eating options nearby.

Was a key highlight, making a convenient to get around the city. The facilities were fantastic, offering everything we needed. It’s in a huge complex with a variety of businesses…from restaurants and shopping to entertainment. Cleanliness was good, ensuring a comfortable environment. Choose Gravina Hotel for our convenience and comfort due to its location inside Kyoto Station, this decision of our s came out as the most amazing experience during our 2 days stay in Kyoto. Every thing we wanted to do and experience were a stone throw away, the station itself and the Hotel in. general was like a dream land. For me everything about this hotel is perfect. Located in the same building with Kyoto station, it's easy to get around from the hotel. The staffs were very kind and helpful, the room were clean and spotless, love the amenities 👌🏼 and surprisingly there's a qibla direction sign in the room, didn't expect to find it here in Japan Hotel room. Would definitely come back again to this hotel.. ♥️

Located inside the kyoto station. The room is so spacious and big windows wherein you can see bullet and local trains. Beds are very comfortable. We loved our stay.

This is my first time staying at this hotel. I chose it because it is located above the main subway station, which is very convenient. When I walked in, a very young girl came to greet me and asked me if I could help in fluent English. The room is really big, the largest room I have ever stayed in Japan. It is cleaned every day and is super clean. The staff here are very friendly. If you want to shop here, it is also very convenient, and if you want to go anywhere, the transportation is also very thoughtful. If I go to Japan next time, I will still choose this hotel.

Nous avons passé une nuit dans cet hôtel qui est tout à fait correct, c’est extrêmement bien placé dans la gare. Si vous vous utilisez la piscine qui finalement est une piscine de 20 m de long qui ne casse pas trois pattes à un canard, faites attention de ne pas être tatoué sans quoi on vous donnera une petite laine pour aller dans l’eau.. Le petit déjeuner était très bon et les restaurants aux alentours sont également très agréable. Je pense que cette hôtel est parfait pour une à deux nuits, mais plus longtemps, je privilégier un hôtel de meilleur catégorie.
