Une auberge du Japon typique et plein de charme”

Un séjour très agréable, nous y sommes déjà retournés et y retournerons encore. Pour ceux qui aiment l'indépendance, la chambre 208 est à recommander (twin) c'est un petit studio avec 2 pièces, l'espace est une chose rare au Japon.

2 jours a Tokyo ”

Endroit calme, et personnel disponible en cas de besoin. L'hotel est bien situe quoique pas evident a trouver ( petite ruelle ). Check out rapide et simple. Les lits sont confortables, par contre la salle de bain sera un peu petite.

Petite chambre mais bon emplacement”

le principal attrait de ce petit hôtel est son emplacement : il est à peine à plus d'une minute de la sortie numéro 3 de la station de métro ueno où passe deux lignes de métro. il est indiqué sur le plan disponible à la sortie de la gare où arrive un des express en provenance de l'aéroport de narita (compter moins de dix minute à pied entre la sortie de la gare de ueno et l'hôtel). l'hôtel semble ne pas avoir été rénové depuis longtemps mais il est très propre. les chambres individuelles sont petites mais c'est la norme au japon. le niveau d'anglais du personnel est très variable d'un employé à l'autre mais des documents explicatifs en anglais sont disponibles à l’accueil. le soir, les portes de l'hôtel sont fermées de 0h30. ce n'est pas idéal pour ceux qui privilégient la vie nocturne aux visites diurnes de tokyo mais cela correspond au passage du dernier métro à ueno (0h25) et garantie le calme de l'hôtel. le quartier est calme mais à deux rues se trouvent des zones très animées : marché, boutiques, salles de jeux, pharmacie, restaurants... sous ou le long des voies de chemin de fer. l'hôtel n'est qu'à deux stations d'akihabara ou d'asakusa. certains shinkansen desservent la gare de ueno. la restauration à l'hôtel se limite à un distributeur et un micro onde dans le hôtel mais il y a de nombreux lieux où manger près de la gare. je pense que je séjournerais de nouveau dans cet hôtel lors de mon prochain voyage à tokyo.

Good location”

The hotel is less than 200 meters southeast of the Ueno train station and is close to Ueno park and the museums there. The hotel is on a quiet side street. There's a 7-11 convenience store about a block away. The nearest supermarket that I found was about a 20 minute walk. The hotel has a microwave and a toaster oven on the first floor. Rooms have a small fridge and hot water pot. Room size is average. Bathroom is a bit smaller than average. My room just had a view of the neighboring buildings. Staff doesn't speak much English, but they are friendly and are adept at communicating whatever information needs to be conveyed. I think the Ueno area is a nice part of Tokyo to stay in.

Budget place next to the metro”

Just a few steps away from a lift to the Ueno station in the Tokyo Subway, the location is perfect. Staffs are a group of elderlies, but one of them at least speaks very good English, otherwise they will press you an iPad and let you talk into the translation app. Simple, nice and clean, even though the place is a bit old and their operation system is that you return your keys to the reception after locking the room.

Near Ueno Station and Ameyoko”

This hotel close to Ueno Station and Keisei-Ueno Station. From JR Ueno Station I went out through the Hirokoji Exit and crossed the road (zebra crossing) twice, (not over the crossing bridge). Although this hotel looks old but is comfortable. The room is tidied up every day. There's microwave in the 1st floor. Overall I enjoyed my stay in Hotel Yamayuri.

Just one comment from me. It is about blanket. Even the room is western style. Blanket is futon. It is too short for tall people. It is not long enough to cover my feet. So if you are tall or westerner, you may need avoid it in winter. Also the hotel door is closed after midnight until 6:00 AM.

Walking distance to Ueno station, eateries, convenience stores”

Stayed in twin bed room, was comfortable. Room is just about average in size for typical Tokyo hotel room. Only 1 lift serving 3 floors of rooms and it is quite small. About 300m away from Ueno station and walking distance to eateries outside Ueno station (look for Uniqlo near the station, you'll find lots of eating options just there). As for the staff, they are mostly elderly folks, speak a bit of English, so be prepared with some basic Japanese if possible to make your questions and their answers easier to understand. All in all, would consider staying again.

This place is a little old hotel The staff can’t use English The curfew time is 12.30 p.m.-6.00 a.m. You can’t go to travel in Ameyoko market in midnight And I told them about my early check-in twice time They did’t remember I need to wait them around 1 hour and they had annoying with me TT_TT

Good Budget Hotel”

If you don't want to spend a lot on a hotel then this one is for you. Great price for a hotel located in a very popular area. Lots of food places a short walk away from the hotel. Convenience stores all around the area. 8 min walk from JR Ueno station and subway lines so getting around is very easy. Lots of stores nearby so shopping is easy. Room is small and feels outdated but then again i'm not spending a whole lot of time in it(just to sleep, shower, and store my stuff) so for the price and location its a good choice. Hotel staff is friendly and speaks decent English.

Very nice location, Ueno station and Shinkansen is just a 5 mins walk from the hotel. Room is decent with strong wifi, but the mini fridge is a bit noisy.
