Lovely little b&b”
I really enjoyed this place. Not too busy and the food was great. I especially liked being able to pay by card for the whole stay and food etc. Rooms were clean and well appointed. Gave the facilities a 4 because the of the AC. I thought it wasn’t powerful enough but the wife did not agree (amongst other things 😐). Over all I would highly recommend this place. If we could have extended our stay we would have.
Little slice of paradise ”
For me the location was perfect/ near town/ on the beach. The staff were so helpful. I felt very safe here and the place was super clean! The views from De Tara are gorgeous. Close walking to nice beach to swim- close to walk to town! When I go back to Koh Mook I will def stay here again!
the best choice”
Directly on the beach.A few meters outside the city center and port.Best choice I could not do.Along with a few other apartments, it divides the beach with the most expensive Koh Mook Sivslai Beach Resort, about 700 meters from De Tara. The entrance to the resort and reception is from a small road that is difficult to see unless accompanied. The structure is divided into two small areas: the upper one with the reception with some apartments overlooking the sea and the other with rooms/tents located slightly more internal,of various sizes, also seen with the sea, complete with everything. The reception area is also a restaurant /bar on the beach. My room/Tent 29 sqm. with veranda. The floor is covered with palm leaves, Air conditioning, Double bed, floor lamps, electrical sockets everywhere at various heights, wardrobe, double bathrobe, slippers,TV, indoor and outdoor drying rack, sliding wooden door to enter the bathroom all covered in resin and with brand new sanitary ware.
High recommended ”
Good value for money. The location are good, near to the walking street. Staffs are very friendly and helpful. You can actually join any snorkeling package thru hotel and the price so reasonable. They also very considerable. It is perfect if they have swimming pool and BBQ place. Other than that, I feel satisfied.
Value for money ,close to beach, friendly staff”
Only one night stay but overall is excellent!! Accommodation (tent) is very good. Near the market and restaurants Don't place any food in tent, put in refrigerator only unless a rat will drag out at night. Only one thing to improve, there no sign to the resort so we are not sure which way to park motorbike so need to ask ppl for the entrance. Next time will stay here for sure.
I lived in tent 2, is big and the open bath is ok, inside the cabinet was still toilet paper not cleaned for long time,Wi-Fi is terrible even 2 meters away from reception. The breakfast is good but the stuff unmotivated. To get a good morning takes long time. Never again and not recommend.
Great location, right next to the pristine beach and soft white sand Helpful staff for planning transportation and affordable packages for snorkeling and island hopping They can speak basic english Recommend going to the Emerald Cave Tent was better than expected, clean modern concrete bathroom and naturally open - the only problem was the air conditioner right next to the bed blowing on our faces all night (pillows are on the high side) Can walk to other restaurants, although the resort restaurant is also good Shakes and breakfast are good (banana shake, banana pancake) French toast isn't really french toast but still tastes good Next time will try the regular room
Very helpful staff at a beautiful location”
Stayed in room #1 an upstairs room with a lovely balcony. Room was always clean. Nice breakfast every morning. Even the local dogs are well behaved. The bathroom is a little odd with the wall not connecting to the roof. You can see the doors to the other rooms. They can't see you but it can be awkward if you are doing your business as they are coming out of their room, lol. Nice taking a shower with the birds singing though. Huge windows in the room. Very thick curtains to block the light if you want. Sheers for privacy during the day. Great views. Nice location. Lee at the front will book boat tours to pick you up right at their own beach. She was very helpful in many ways and made our stay even better. Very short walk to "town". Taxis right there to take you Charlie beach. I would go back in a heartbeat!
Small resort with excellent staff”
Our second stay as we enjoyed our first. On this occasion we stayed in both the best room for views (room 3) and also spent one night in the deluxe beach front tent. Once again the staff were excellent especially the team running the bar who are all very good at their jobs. The tent is very large in size and affords views directly on to the beach, however due to its location & it being a tent you will hear everything early in the morning ( long tails & roosters ) and is probably a bit over priced compared to the cost of rooms 2 & 3. The Thai food was always well prepared and tasty. The breakfasts were always freshly prepared with plenty of instant coffee refills available. Excellent wifi and very reasonable hotel bar prices.
Lovely simple resort”
De Tara has a great location next to the beach and is within easy walking distance of the main street of restaurants. The staff were friendly and helpful and the breakfasts were really good. The restaurant itself (and it’s sister De Local on the main street) are both good too. We stayed in one of the tent rooms. The air conditioning worked great, the bed was large and comfortable and the view from the terrace was lovely. It’s a small hotel and what you see is what you get, but it is really nice.
Not for relax on the beach - good for one/two night stay to see the island”
Beach near the hotel is small, dirty with many boats, of you are searching for place for relax - it’s not that place. Good for one/two night stay to see the island that all. Rooms are nice and big. Good value for money - if you want to see the island or make a trip to cave - bad choice for laying on the beach and relax
Bed Bugs, Bad WiFi...”
I recognised bed bugs at my last night there and had bites all over my body. No WiFi connection in the room. Swimming isn't possible right in front of the property because of the low tide - you need to walk about half a mile.
2 nights in Koh Mook”
We loved this little island. We stayed in a room with AC at De Tara. The location on the hotel is perfect! Not even a minute of walking and you are on the beach and you have the small village right behind you with some of the best restaurants in Thailand. The room was clean but they didn’t do any housekeeping even though we stayed for two nights there. We didn’t mind but that has never happened anywhere else where we have stayed. And the wifi only works in the reception/restaurant and on the beach. Not in your room. Extra plus for the super comfy bed though! The beds in Thailand are kind of famous for being HARD but this one was so soft! We slept like babies. Victoria from Sweden
Great place to stay at Koh Mook”
Dinner is great. Some of the best Thai food. Lovely little island. Friendly people and fair prices. Room was great with balcony.
Strongly recommended for this resort ”
Nice place to stay and Seafront resort. The food was very delicious too. Strongly recommended to order the resort menu especially Tom Yam Goong soup. 😊😊 will be back soon.
