nice clean but dark room”
Room and staff were nice. Room was clean; hallways are a bit tattered. GREAT massage in the spa; restaurant small but pleasant. Next time would ask for a room on the street side which might have more light. Very central location...a block from the airtrain to the airport.
Best location, easy to travel, nice staff, clean”
great for value, right at the walking street, walking distance to the palace, can find the motorbike taxi very easily
Beautifully presented but basic hotel”
Old building, nicely renovated with lovely artistic touches but rooms very small. The fan rooms with windows at the front would be very noisy and the air-con rooms were windowless. Only shared facilities (spotless). No idea what the competition in town is like.
Perfect for a night before our Boat to the island”
Great place for one night before you catch the boat. Nice old property renovated and nicely decorated. Friendly lady on reception . nearby 7/11, places to eat and drink. Good price.
Great option to spend one night in Ranong”
Very nice room (Ventilator with window) close to the market. The staff is very helpful and can arrange tickets to Ko Phayam. If you want to spend one night in Ranong it is perfect.
Great renovated heritage hostel”
Best of a budget stay. Best location on the small main street of Ranong town, surrounded by interesting colonial architecture and vintage shop fittings. Great renovation of an original terrace building, cement spaces downstairs and hardwood upstairs. My clean and cozy room has windows that open out with nice street view. There aren't no mosquito net on the windows though, so not a good idea to keep them opened at night. Shared bathroom facility is also clean and well maintained. I would highly recommend this place.
Pleasant layover ”
Nicely styled retro/vintage chic hostel. Convenient location for mini markets, shops and restaurants in central Ranong. Communal areas upstairs very pleasant and clean. Hot water and kettle downstairs. Rooms lack windows but fine if you're only sleeping there. Within walking distance of decent restaurant (Farmhouse and Sunny Side Up) and travel agent (Pon's Place). Short walk to hot spa (free!) or bus station if you don't mind crossing a main road. Ranong not much to look at, more a transit town, but this hostel is great if you're passing through, especially if you get it at a discounted price, off season.
Good place to stay in the heart of tanning!”
Very nice and clean - don't worry about the shared bathroom, they're clean like home :) super fast WiFi, short walking distance to different restaurants and shops. With a scooter taxi you can go to the pier within 15 minutes for 50-60 bath p.P.
Great value for money”
It was a PLEASANT surprise when I saw the room and the hotel. After traveling for a couple of weeks in Thailand and the experience I've had, for the rate they charged I was expecting the place in worst conditions honestly.
What a surprise!”
I booked my room in November 2014 for my single nights stay on 2 January 2015. When I arrived they had no listing for me , that no room had been assigned. So with my assistance We looked up there e-mail system to confirm that I had booked and paid for my room. The front office guy spoke ok English if you kept simple. next he said "take a seat as He will and go make up a room" This was happening at 6 pm in the evening and in most hotels all rooms are made ready before 2 pm. Well I choose the room with windows over looking the road. The level of noise from the road was ok . It was the noise from the room next which what woke me up. The bathroom area is clean and roomy. I was surprised it was a common bathroom area for men and women. Lots of privacy. The street outside is great and in the early morning I went for wonderful walk around near by streets and up the hill to look at the sun rise.
I already reviewed this hotel!!! ”
Please stop asking Me to do over reviews that I have already done!!! Do You not bother to check this before demanding them? Apparently not! in the future I will just ignore Your annoying, persistent emails, and just keep deleting them until You finally give up!!! and I only selected family fun so I can send this. The only thing in My opinion that Ranong is good for is a place to get a room to help with visa run, and/or making sure to be on time for the Train from Chumpon to Bangkok
Great spot for the night ahead of a quick Visa run”
Came to Ranong to do a visa run, and really happy to have stayed at Luang Poj. The friendly staff mapped out our trip into Myanmar the next day and onward travel all the way to Koh Tao. They also had some great suggestions for food, and we managed to find a great place just a 5 minute walk away with live music. WIth more time, probably would have spent a couple of extranights here. Had an awesome experience!
Very comfortable, great for visa run”
We stayed for one night so we could organise an extra 15 day visa. The staff helped us organise this and made it very easy for us. We were not looking foward to sharing a bathroom but they were so clean and I think we were the only ones staying there at the time. Staff gave me the wifi password without even having to ask for it and they were so friendly - helping us find a place for dinner. It was wet season so was great that we didn't have to go far to find food =) great one night stay - Not too much in Ranong but perfect for what we needed. They have also decorated it very funky! Each room has different theme. Very cool.
clean, artistic, and air conditioning!”
our stay at the hotel was for an in between time before we went to one of the local islands. the rooms are well built and quite clean. orginally we were told we were going to be getting a fan room and when we arrived we were given a room with a/c! the purple room was great. our first time we took a taxi out we did it through the drowsy rabbit looking front desk guy who we feel ripped us off by us paying him 200 baht for the pair of us for a ride to the pier. when we arrived t the pier, the taxi guy charged the 3rd guy in our ride 60 baht. it just bothered us. when we came back from our island trip and wanted a place to hold on to our bags for the day before our bus came, we went back to this hotel and ran in to the owner who was a great guy and held onto our stuff and allowed us to use the facilities free of charge for the day. very nice owner who cares very much for his work and building a quality hostel. would recommend staying there, best hostel in ranong. just watch out for a guy that looks like a sleepy rabbit.
Nice artistic place”
Good budget hotel in the city center. All the rooms are decorated differently. Very clean. Friendly staff. A great option for those who stay for a couple of days. In the morning it is noisy, but in day time very quietly. Good wifi.
Good deal hostel.”
We arrived from Phuket by bus and this stopped really away from the hostel so you have to get a songthaw to the market area and then walk five minutes. The hostel room was clean as well the shared bathroom. Ranong is a small city but the street where the hostel is located seams to be the main one for tourist aiming to go to Kho Phayam, so you can find there some places for dining or having a coffee. We you are ready to head to Phayam you can catch a moto taxi for to the pier which may be located a couple of kilometres away. There are no money changer stalls, we were told that to get baht we have to change money at the banks.
