Séjour reposant, quelques activités à faire autour (même si les écobuages ne nous ont pas permis d'aller sur les montagnes). Petit dej plutôt bon (pain et confiture fait maison), cependant le jus d'orange "fanta" mériterait d'être remplacé par des vrais fruits. Lit un peu dur. Pas de restauration quand nous y étions (du à la periode je pense)

Beautiful bungalows, in a garden, in a forest, with birds”

Khun Malle runs a very sweet guesthouse. If you're into birds, you can watch birds all day without ever leaving your balcony. The huge and wild Doi Luang N.P. is right next door so bird and wildlife viewing opportunities abound. The stillness and majesty of the immense rainforest at night is a key part of the Malee bungalow experience for me. Every one of Malee's bungalows is unique. The decor is a little dated but dated in a way that feels comfortable, as though you were visiting your grandmother's house. The beds are divine, the balconies on selected bungalows are a really nice place to hang out with a beer or, if you're so inclined, to watch birds. The bungalows are well separated and surrounded by exotic plants and flowering trees. Breakfast is included and it's no ordinary breakfast. It's toasted homemade bread and jam, eggs, juice, handmade coffee or tea. After a great night's sleep and that awesome breakfast you can sit and watch those beautiful birds.

A great place for a relaxing stay!”

We loved our stay here - lots of small lodges in fabulous well maintained gardens. It's only a 5-10 minute trip from Chiang Dao, and a great base to explore local wats, waterfalls and hot springs, and do some trekking. The gardens and the deck are perfect areas to sit and relax and catch up on reading. Breakfast is fabulous, including Malee's home made bread and jams, and freshly brewed coffee. We stayed for three nights, and loved it.

If I Could Give 6 Stars For Staff I Would”

Malee’s place is outstanding. Set in the hills on the outskirts of Chiang Dao it was as peaceful as it was beautiful. The rooms are simple but comfortable and clean with a good shower. What sets this place apart is Malee herself - she is possibly the friendliest person I have ever met. She drove us to a local restaurant and we had dinner with her and a group of other guests. She drove us to the bar and gave us excellent recommendations for activities and food. Unfortunately during my time here I wasn’t very well and Malee was so kind. She also organised us a 1 day jungle trek with very little notice which we thoroughly enjoyed. The area around Malee’s has a small selection of restaurants, cafe’s and bars - many of which are within walking distance but be sure to bring a torch!!

Lovely private bungalows in a garden, in a forest”

Malee's is a fantastic place for anyone seeking a quiet retreat in a splendid setting. The bungalows are all separate and are situated here and there in the beautiful gardens Malee and her husband lovingly care for. The resort is surrounded by a verdant and extensive rainforest and Doi Luang N.P. The rooms are not new but they are clean and have their own charms. The bed we had was very comfy. This is something that many Thai guesthouses skimp on and for me, a hard bed would be a deal-breaker. There is a small splash pool on-site and beautiful tropical birds to watch if you're so inclined. Also, a note about breakfast. The usual guesthouse offering is boring; instant coffee, a bit of fruit, toast. Blah! Malee provides a delicious spread; homemade bread with homemade jam, eggs, fruit and wonderful espresso-style coffee. You simply can't go wrong.

These bungalows are simple but have everything you need. Malee and her brother were helpful and friendly. The location is great, an easy walk up to the temple which is a beautiful and peaceful place. The breakfast with fresh fruit and muesli was nice. I'd go back.

Malee and her family were incredibly hospitable. They welcomed us to Chiang Dao and were very helpful. Breakfast was great too- homemade bread and jam and generous portions. HIGHLY recommend Malee to anyone looking for an authentic experience!

We had a great time at Malees. We had the honeymoon bungalow, it is definitely worth the little extra money, it has a nice balcony with hammock and jungle-view. The place has a nice family vibe, and it is certainly for nature lovers, located close to the mountains, super quiet place with only the sounds of the jungle. Malee and Kurt were really welcoming, super friendly and always helpful. Breakfast is really great, different things to choose from, and Malees homemade bread and jam is particularly good. The little pool is great for a little dip in the afternoon heat. Would definitely come back, and I give the place my biggest recommendations.

I've stayed here on and off for many years. A simple, straightforward place, often frequented by birders and those who like hiking. Malee is usually very friendly and chatty, occasionally a bit short, but not malicious. A human. Quiet location close to the mountain temple. Breakfast included. The only place I want to stay in Chiang Dao.

Peaceful, friendly and relaxing”

We had a twin share bungalow which was roomy enough for two. The bathroom was good although a little dark. The room was clean and the beds comfy. The bungalows were surrounded by beautiful gardens and were far enough apart so you still felt private. There was a hammock outside along with a bench to sit and drink a coffee and other seating around the garden to relax at. All the guests we met there were super friendly and Malee, her husbsnd and brother were amazing. Breakfast was great as was Malee’s home made bread. Mallee and her husband even took us and the other guests out to their favourite restaurant - the food was fantastic and the company was great. You are surrounded by nature and wonderful views - if you are wanting a complete break from city life head here for some clean air. This is not five star accommodation but it has five star votes from me for being the most relaxing, quiet and beautiful place.
