Nice view with nice hospitality ”
I've been to this resort almost 10 years ago. Although the facilities got old over time, the Thai-style resort buildings are still stunningly attractive.
The resort was very nice and peaceful. It was a great escape.”
We booked the resort at the last minute for the long weekend. We arrived there at night and thought the resort was in a middle of nowhere. The location is quite away from the tourist destinations but it didn't bother us. The resort is quite old. I would suggest, if possible, to change all the fabrics like curtain, table cloth, and of course towel. The atmosphere is very nice and peaceful with traditional Thai house and very green garden. What we were impressed most is the staff, especially the lady at the reception (Khun Pum?) We had a little issue with the room type which was incorrectly described on Agoda. However, the staffs managed to take very good care of it and we were moved to a better type. I can say that all of the staffs were so friendly and very helpful. The dinner was superb. Thanks to the wonderful chef. We happened to forget our stuffs in our room and the staff was so kind to send it by post to us at no cost. I was a very wonderful stay at Petchvarin Resort.
Awesome place and amazing people”
We spent 2 wonderful nights at this resort. The staff was very helpful and so kind to us and the kids. Always ready to help and make us fell like at home😉 The resort is an hidden place with a real Thai feel with its Thai beautiful bungalows. We also recommend the experience at the spa... A jewel closed to Kareng Krachan National Park.
Agréable”
Great location great view of Petchburi River. Quiet and relaxing for a retreat. Beds are old need to be replace. Bed sheet and blanket too. Swimming pools are unnecessary deep (3.6M) with no life guard presence. Staff are not as attentive as they should be.
Rich of nature!”
The place is surrounding by nature, and the room is cozy and clean. Staff was helpful and friendly
Wild location but hotel not properly maintained”
Location is great in the middle of the jungle and with pineapple fields in the surroundings. However no proper maintenance/minimum investments have been done since the hotel opened 15 years ago. The roofs are leaking when it rains, the bed sheets/towels were old with some holes in it, the swimming pool was full of algae and leaves with the chairs/tables broken and the restaurant full of spider nets/ants/dead butterflies... This hotel should have been great when it was properly managed but now it is in total decay
Serene, secluded, friendly, comfy”
We booked the mini Thai studio for two nights. The authentic Thai-style house is shared with another 3 rooms. (All other options are detached houses, albeit at higher prices). We had no problems with the other guests; they were all friendly and considerate. The location is a bit secluded, approx. 10-15km from the National Park, which added to privacy but took toll on convenience. Landscape of the resort was nothing short of amazing. Unlike B&B style of accommodations, we enjoyed staying at the place as much as the National Park, walking around, sitting by the river, swimming in the pool, and watching wild birds. (Yes there were drongos flying within the vicinity.) Staff were very friendly and accommodating. All in all I can recommend this place.
Disappointed with room”
On my last stay I had a cottage which was spacious comfortable and very pleasant. The mini suite I was given this time had a very uncomfortable bed, large gaps in Windows and doors for nightlife to enter, holes in sheets, very worn towels and wifi was useless. Won't stay again.
Beautiful resort and nice staff”
A nice resort in the country with lush landscaping and friendly staff. It is far from nightlife and the town if you want that kind of thing, but it suited us fine. The quiet, country nature of the grounds afforded us lots of views of birds, a treeshrew, and fruit bats outside our room! The staff was so nice, they kept the kitchen open for us even though we arrived 20 mins after they closed.
A BIT TOO CLOSE TO NATURE”
The hotel was well signposted and easy to find once you got within a few km. Car Parking is good and check in took a couple of minutes. We had a bungalow down by the river. It had recently rained and the lower part of the site was a bit wet and I couldn't get the car parked within 40m of the room which is fine unless you're handling heavy rolling luggage on pathways not designed for it.... stepping stones!!!.. hmm.. In retrospect I should have asked for a different bungalow. The rooms are fine but were quite dark with not the best air conditioning and the bathrooms were a bit gloomy. For the prices they charge the rooms should be well air conditioned, insect-free with bright bathrooms... Beds were fine and everything was very clean. It was late and we decided to eat at the restaurant which is in the main buiding up a lengthy concrete stairway, poorly lit, greasy and slippery when wet. Holding the hand rail in one hand and an umprella in another I still slipped and fell injuring my back and calves. If the hotel are going to have this type of stairs they really need to be anti-slip - in this case they were dangerous. I've been to a number of these bungalow-in-the-forest type hotels in Thailand and I usually like them but I doubt I'll go back to the Petchvarin.
A small room. ”
Good
hotel in jungle”
good was the room, shower, bed, staff very friendly, even got a glass of juice for welcome and later when sitting in the lobby. pool large and deep, nice to swim rooms and houses small and sweet. lots of fresh air and birdssinging. internet very slow, but it will get fixed, we were told. only 2 channels on the tv, one in thai and one about christianity religion.
Nice area with great staff”
The rooms are all pretty basic and I would no way rate it a 4* resort. The prices are 4* but room comfort and amenities are 2*. Dinner was superb, but the breakfast awful. The staff was very friendly and helped us getting directions to a few things.
Petchvarin Resort”
Beautiful location ok rooms but in need of upddon'”
2. Day stay room ok Reception poor Thai food good but breakfast was the worst I've ever had and we ate it by the pool where workmen were building a patio Choice at breakfast was dreadful and the tables and , Mats were dirty This hotel has the potential to be great but staff are in desperate need of some training"" The spa- overpriced by an excessive amount and staff were no where to be seen We ate our evening meal in a grotty restaurant whilst off duty staff sang on karaoke in the next room it was awful!,,,
Memorable stay in calm surrounding”
We stayed in the Resort for 3 nights and were nearly the only guests. That was remarkable as we experienced the Resort to be one of the best we ever stayed in. We were picked-up at the train station in Petchaburi and only after the one hour transfer we have learned so many things about the region from the manager. He as well as all staff members were extremely friendly and took care of us every moment. Thai food was delicious and the resort is beautiful. A trip with the resort-own tuk-tuk to the Worldlife Friends Fund Thailand is worthwhile.
wonderful”
amazing place - great grounds with lovely pool, great restaurant - what a place to relax, a real retreat, good birdwatching and a good place to stay when visiting Kaeng Krachan National Park.Love to go back.
Beautiful spot”
we stayed 2 nights and basically had the place to ourselves. the staff were very friendly, rooms very clean and it was very quiet.
