Good Value for Money”
Stayed here again and still feel the same. Great WiFi, Friendly and helpful staff. Shop owners nearby are great. Good parking. Great laundry service. Nice Shower. Just a little noisy at times. No toilet paper. Rock Hard bed. Yeah you’ll remember that one. Overall pretty good for the price.
Enjoyed our stay. Would come back again.”
Pros: Fast WiFi, Friendly and helpful staff, Great laundry service, friendly shop owners nearby. Good parking. Clean and Tidy. Cons: Rock hard bed. No need to set your alarm clock, Rooster will take care of that. Can be noisy late at night at times.
No toilet paper for all room, the hotel provide only for facial tissue.”
The only thing don't let me down during the stay, is a toilet tissue paper issue. the hotel claimed that they have facial paper as a toilet paper which is a totally different thing. other than that the place is very clean and not far away from the main road. it's only about 15 to 20 minutes walk to the town.
Absolutely value for money”
We did not expect that much since the price war very reasonable but we were positively surprised. Nice room setting, very pleasant and comfortable. Just a small language barrier can complicate things a bit. Considering the price you can't ask for more.
Only problem is noisy !! ”
It is because this is an apartment complex for many Thai families. They live on the 3 rd floor and 2 Nd floor underneath them is hotel !! That did not work well for me, family upstairs made noise until midnight so I had to ask help from the front desk but she knew zero English. Little kids start running on corridors and at garden early morning !
Better than an average hotel ”
I enjoyed the stay. Air conditioner was 5 years old, not powerful but it cooled the room 1-2 hr later. Shower tiles had black mold spots and shower mat on the floor was too old but overall room was clean, comfortable, quiet and bed was nice. It is 20 minutes walk to UD town, there is a songthaew to the bus station for 10 baht.
Few plusses for the hotel and minuses outside ie Dogs barking. But worth the money for Udon, I would stay again without a problem.
Good hotel, nice stuff”
Big and clean room, not expensive, nice and friendly stuff, close to airport, UD town, 7 eleven, and night market. I will recommend to all.
Good, cleand and nice staff”
Room big enough, clean, modern, close to UD Town and night market (20 mnts walking distance) Girls at reception friendly and funny. I recommend the hotel to all
Good hotel nice staff. ”
Close to almost verything. 20 minutes, walking distance to central market and UD town. Not too far from airport (200 b) Good service and nice smiling staff
Out of town, friendly staff, new clean,”
Great little motel, comfortable bed, good tv, air conditioning quiet, good WiFi, no complaints, would stay again. Not many restaurants, but good hamburgers at local Aussie sports bar 200m down the same so I LHS.
EXTREMELY rude owner/management”
After my first night before 2 PM the staff attempted to open my door without saying anything or knocking - I found this a bit incompetent already (I mean.. for one I could have been completely naked, or whatever could have been happening behind that door, and had I not locked it - she would have just barged in like it was nothing). Not long after she returned knocking loudly on my door (again without even communicating anything; I presume assuming that I speak no Thai), so I answered and promptly told her I'm not checking out; she returned by asking if I'll be booking on agoda or paying cash. The following day it was raining all morning and afternoon, and I was not bothered on this day, so I assumed that they were being kind and allowing us to stay late because we ride motorcycles and the riding conditions were very poor, however they had different plans - around 2 my friend asked them in Thai if it was alright that we are checking out late because of the rain, and they said that I have to pay 100 baht an hour, so it was already 200 baht. Following this we promptly left the room leaving the key at the desk, and when we were getting ready to leave they followed us out in attempts to collect the money - we simply told them that this is not okay, and after an awkward standoff they told me not to book this hotel again (as a result of their own ridiculous business practice they lost a loyal customer who stayed here multiple times, and would have likely continued to if it weren't for these incidents). Had a good impression of this place from when I stayed a few months ago, but after my experience today my opinion has drastically changed. Very poorly managed hotel. Would not recommend.
Nice hotel and nice stay”
15min walk to ud town. 25min walk to central or busstation. Recomended if if like a small stroll or have rented a bike. A tuktuk take from 60-80 bht to central Everything worked and i had a nice stay.
Far better than expected”
I stayed five days and it was very nice. The staff don't speak English but they made up for that with smiles and helpfulness. Not near any falang restaurants. But essentials available across the road. Free coffees available at reception. Good free wifi cover. Will definitely stay again.
Ideal for short or long stay; many pluses'”
I've stayed at this excellent hotel several times before, and it's always been very comfortable in every way. It also has so much to offer in shopping opportunities within a few blocks. Since it is a block off the main street it is quiet and peaceful. As I am from the U.S., I believe a similar room there would run at least 3 times more, and without the friendly smiles and helpful staff here. Great value! I guarantee it. Galen
value for money”
New hotel, good value for money.A bit out of the way so you need to take a tuk tuk but there are also songtows thata go past on main road.I would stay there again but best if you have a car. No breakfast and no breakfast place near the hotel.
I enjoyed my stay at Soontree. The room was nice and clean, the hotel is very new so it was a good place to stay. The staff were very nice and attentive to my needs. The best part of the stay was the BIG bed and the huge doona. After all the most important part of any hotel room is the bed and I wish I could take that bed with me everwhere I visit :-) Was amazing value for the price.
The place was new and simple but it lacked the basic necessities like toilet rolls, kettle and hair dryer. You can purchase things like tissues at the reception but the point is, you shouldn't have to! The bedside lamps did not work and one of the lights in the bathroom too. The bathroom was quite big but its the type where there is no divider between where the shower is and where the the toilet is so it was constantly wet and slippy so be careful! I did request for extra floor matts and the staff were happy to provide. All in all, I did have a comfortable stay as the room I stayed in was one of the big spacious ones and it was clean.
Nice and clean
