Cute cottage accommodation”
The cottage was a bit dated but clean and tidy. Very comfortable bed, good sized room and a good location near the edge of town. Staff were friendly - I would recommend this accommodation

We stayed here for the second time - handy to everything - we did the Wineglass Bay Cruise which was only an hour away and the scenery from Swansea to Coles Bay is worth seeing over and over. We staying in a cottage which is fully self contained, good sized television and recliner couch! Bed very comfy and cottage very clean. Will stay there again :)

Hopefully you noticed that we are continually upgrading such as the 50" LCD TV's now in most cottages and the cabin along with the recliner couch. The cabin also has a second TV in the bedroom as well as a a new microwave convection oven as well as ceramic cook tops, not that you want to cook whilst on holiday, however the option is there. Close to beach, small room”
Swansea is a pleasant very small town on the beautiful Tasmanian East Coast. It is hard to get accommodation in summer, and this was really a last resort for us as nothing else was available in the area - to be fair it was not really the kind of accommodation that was well suited to our needs. More suited to a single traveller or a couple. The room was quite small and there was no kitchen sink in our room option - the only sink is a small hand basin in the bathroom. All the accommodation is close together and not very private in that respect. Having said that, it was clean, quiet and comfy and close to the beach. Access to the beach is through the adjacent school grounds.

Hi William, Thank you for sharing your review. It sounds like you booked a "motel" room but was maybe expecting a cottage. Had you come to reception we would have been only too pleased to have upgraded you to a fully self contained cottage subject to availability. the motel room that you stayed in was a family3 (queen + single bed) room of 32m2 which is not really that small and a lot larger than many motel rooms. Motel rooms generally do not have a kitchen or separate bedroom(s). We invite you next time to try one of our fully self contained cottages. The East Coast does get very busy in summer so it might be a good idea to book your accommodation well before hand. Many thanks Rob & Toni and staff.
Cute cottage but noisey at times”
The cottage we stayed in was a small cute little studio style and was suitable for our one night stop over with our toddler. It is right next to the school with a playground and the tavern was a 3 min walk down the road for dinner. My only issue was that with several rooms all in the one cottage (which I didn’t realise when booking) it was noisey at night. We could hear the people in the room next to or above us when trying to get our little one to sleep. The pipes were also noisy when the people upstairs flushed their toilet. The staff were friendly and the room was clean. The lounge was old and worn but everything else was fine. If it wasn’t for the noise It would have been ok.

It sounds like you booked one of our family motel rooms and unfortunately being a motel room with adjacent guests some sounds come through despite thick concrete walls and lots of sound proofing. Settees and dining suites have been updated since your stay. Our cottages by comparison are separated and therefore very quiet. We invite you next time to try one of our cottages. Cottage of Great Location”
The cottage located at the heart of the small town of Swansea. The cottage located beside a beach but the beach in my opinion is not suitable for family swimming. No in hotel dining but located in walking distance to good restaurant and convenient store.

Hi Ali, Thank you for sharing your review of your stay in a motel family suite. The beach is an ocean beach, however protected so it is always a safe swimming beach. In the afternoon the sea breeze van make the waves a little choppy so usually best to go for an earlier swim. Yes it is convenient having the Swansea Barkmill, Tavern and Bakery so close as its a very easy 50M walk for both fully cooked breakfast in the bakery and evening meals in the tavern. We are fortunate for a small seaside village to also have 2 IGA stores in town for a good selection of groceries and wide range of other commodities. We hope that you may be able to return in the future and we invite you to stay in a fully self contained cottage next time. Many thanks Rob & Toni and staff.

Our stay at Swansea was very pleasant. The cottage worked well for a family of four. They had a bbq area, laundry and close access to playground.

It was quite a nice place to stay, near freycinet. The house was slightly smaller than expected, & the kitchen was not as fully equipped as expected. Overall, we still enjoyed our stay.

It sounds like you booked a motel room which are a lot smaller and while still very well equipped for a motel room are a lot less comprehensive than a fully equipped cottage with separate bedrooms. lounge room and fully equipped kitchen complete with dishwasher and rice cooker. the room is under our expectation. it doesn't come with cooking equipment such as stove or a fry pan. and the room is 1/3 of the cottage which is quite small. i would rather pay a bit more to get a sole cottage in the future.

Cottage in nice setting”
we only spent a night there on our way from hobart to the freycinet peninsula. breakfast was not included but would be a great help if it was, since we do not have time to do shopping the night before to prepare our own breakfast. the owners were very friendly and helpful in pointing us to places for sightseeing and dinner. the price was quite high, even higher than a hotel in hobart or launceston, perhaps because of the christmas period.

Hi Chi, Thank you for sharing your review of your stay. You did not say whether you stayed in a motel room or one of our fully self contained cottages. We do have breakfast menus available so you could have ordered a breakfast from reception. However, if you arrived after reception had closed the Bakery ate the Swansea Barkmill Tavern serve excellent breakfasts from 7.00AM and it is only a 50M walk from your room, so is very close by. Price of all accommodation on the East Coast Dec - April is higher than Hobart because it is not only the peak season but as most accommodation properties are smaller than the larger hotels in the cities costs to operate are much higher as we have to also bring in and provide accommodation for our staff and cleaners due to a shortage locally.
