Hotel is old and undergoing renovation. Breakfast is at another hotel. Staff are very friendly and helpful.
Hot Water sometimes Had to go to Hotel around the corner for breakfast and swimming pool Long way out of town
My thai wife and i have stayed here 6 times now its close to where her family live about 10 mins on her motor bike .I like the swimming pool which catches the sun most of the day so the waters not too cold and its never crowded.the rooms are clean and comfortable and very spacious and excellent value for money particularly if booked on line.Im not sure the staff speak much English but for us thats not a problem as my wife talks with the staff when needed and my small amount of Thai is enough to get by.
Good and bad”
The hotel is old they have just opened a new one just a minuets walk away, called awarez I think and is much more modern and better as we had to take breakfast there, I looked it up and only 100 baht more per night wish I had known before. But the the thepnakorn hotel was clean and staff was excellent with the little English they knew, I would stay again if no rooms at the new one. two bad points was 1:Everything closed shops, lobby bar, massage and beauty moved to the new one 2: rooms and hotel very old but still good standard but more a 2-3 star hotel
I booked an executive room the manager saw that we were there for 10 days and upgraded us to a VIP room at the end of the wing for no extra charge, the room was huge. Hotel is showing its age and they have just opened a brand new hotel at the rear of this one although you can't get a room for £16 a night for two including breakfast in there. I would not hesetate to book there again and enjoyed our stay.
Friendly, relaxing and budget friendly”
For $30 a night it was superb! Pool was good, staff were friendly..no complaints! I had read previous reviews where people had said mixed Thai and Falang were not welcomed but absolutely not the case. Staff were brilliant and understood Thai, English and Cambodian. Would definitely stay there again if my house had not just been completed!!!
fine and Ok and nice and not too expensive and that sort of thing and uh ... fine and Ok and nice and not too expensive and OK people and swimming pool and poor English, but friendly and so on to fifty words
I had a great stay at The Thepnakorn Hotel”
I had a great stay at The Thepnakorn and would recommend to anyone thinking about staying there. The room was a good size, the staff very friendly and accomodating, the food was great and the bar very relaxed. There is a good size swimming pool and the city centre is a couple of minutes away. There is a miny bus service to anywhere available from the Hotel. I would definately stay at The Thepnakorn again.
Great hotel ... will stay again”
hotel is very large...but 8th floor requires going up two level of stairs...if going up stairs a problem request up to 7th floor. large lobby. i left early are returned late...only able to enjoy breakfast.
Not so impressed”
with the only advantage is the location, the vip room was nothing more than a regular room that i wouldn't do it again. the room was stuffy. the good was not memoral, checking in was unprofessional, it was a bad choice being there. wished we tried elsewhere, but unsure as the city was small, perhaps it maybe worth driving to korat and stayed there. not lots of options here in this city, think before you decide.
Poor service, they did not find our booking and tried to get more money from us. It took over 20 minutes to solve this. The room was bad, smells, the water was charcoal black, poor hotel. Try elsewhere. Not so much selection in this city, either try something else or drive an hour to Korat is recommended.
Good nice hotel”
We were only staying 2 nights for short family visit hot weather mid May time, first night our room was very hot as air conditioning wasn’t good at all WiFi unable to connect old fashioned tv wasn’t pleased with it at all thought I won’t go back there again! But then thanks goodness I reported problems to receptionist and kindly moved us to different room, everything were improved. I changed my mind Soon after and will definitely go back again and do hope they will improve and upgrade tv by then.
Booked 4 nights , stayed 3 hours and checked out. Staff unhelpful at reception and said no available rooms (had booked already). Took time for them to realise we had pre booked but still no apology or smile. This hotel may look nice in photos but in reality it has not been updated since the dark ages. Didn't think the lift was going to make it to our floor. When we got to our room it was hot and stuffy. No window to open and air con took 30 minutes to cool room down. Furniture and decor was very very dated, TV about 20 years old and not many channels. Bathroom was very poor, didn't look clean or bright. This is only my opinion but I would avoid at all costs, was willing to forfeit the money to find somewhere else. Don't be fooled by the grand entrance hall, this hotel has not spent 1 baht on improving the rooms, I'm surprised this hotel was fully booked.
We arrived and booked in. Service dismal. Door key don't work. Ordered luxury room with king bed. Got two singles. No hot water in room. Broken. Breakfast is in another hotel. Good cold. Go for swim. Pool demolished. Go into another motel. Worst experience I have ever encountered. Staff were not interested in my complaint. Frequent travelers. Never return. Wasted money.
Old, worn out Hotel”
Turned up asking for a room and staff wanted to charge double Agoda price. Management didn't know what they were doing. Ended up using Agoda and saving a lot of money.... which come to the next point; the room was barely worth the Agoda price!
Could have had better accommodation for the same value else where in Buri Ram.”
Hotel is getting old and in need of renovation. Swimming pool was being renovated but no mention of this prior to booking. Breakfast was in their partner hotel just a short walk away which had a large buffet to choose from.
The wifi worked!”
Ours was one of the non-renovated rooms, presumably. The shower just poured water out on top of the bathtub faucet, so showering was impossible. The AC didn't work, although it made the right noises - and more. The sink drained very slowly. Everything was worn. None of the staff spoke any Western language. The "bartenders" we're not. The bar menu was irrelevant: it said cold green tea was 50 baht and I got charged 80. Same happened to others with other orders. A van rented by friends never showed up on time, and it just disappeared for an hour once. The list is long.
Old and run down hotel”
My family goes to Buriram at least 1-2 times a year for race competition at BRIC. Will not stay in Thepnakorn for my next visit. Hotel is very tired and run down. No taxi facility. Needed front reception to call a taxi which is unmetered, ie, flat rate. Hotel has own vehicle that you can charter but do not accept the offer immediately without negotiating the rate. Breakfast is served at a nearby hotel (Alvarez) which is in the same premise. Alvarez seems to be a better and more conducive hotel to stay in, though I have not stayed in the rooms, but Alvarez seems a lot fresher than Thepnakorn.
Short stay in buriram for a family of 10”
Uncomfortable, bathroom was very unclean and very poorly designed. Hotel looked like it was really nice about 15 years ago. The pool was VERY dirty. Air conditioners worked really hard to keep up with the heat. Staff did not speak hardly any English and was less helpful and knowledgeable than most Thai people. They did send us over to the "newer" hotel for breakfast which is why i gave it a better rating.
