Nice view facing the sea”
Lucky my wife can speak Thai and manage to divert to get this hotel. The room was good where it was a nice seaview and the wind was excellent. During night time you can have some beers and light snack sitting at the terrance to enjoy your night. If you are not driving, better get the hotel transport inadvance.
Handy for overnight stay on way to islands”
wanghin bungalow is a very low key family run place standing alone on a headland within walking distance of lompreyah pier. the family are delightful and very friendly and can offer you a limited selection of home cooked meals and some refridgerated items adequate for an overnight stay. the hillside bungalows are comfortable and have lovely views over the tidal bay. it's a good time to sit back and relax while waiting for the ferry, and watch the local fishermen and women working their nets and boats. while not a holiday destination it is certainly a good stopover place where you will be looked after to the best of the family's ability. we enjoyed and appreciated our stay.
Isolated location with old and worn down rooms”
Staff is fairly clueless, they didn't know what to do with our reservation but we did the get the room that we booked. If you don't have wheels. it's very isolated, no food nearby. Room was dark and worn out.
Good place to sleep over before you go to the boat”
The property is 5 min from the Donsak pier. Otherwise it's quite remote from the village or Town. You need to take a taxi or some other transportation to come to the town. So a lot to do you don't have hier. But it's very peaceful. And water is also not for swimming. Its dirty and not so gut approachable. The internet connection wasn't working. They have two different wlans, but none of them worked. It was very inconvenient, becouse we rent this bungalow also becouse of internet, that we can plan our trip. What we did find gut, was the room. It was big, clean, toilet and shower were also more or less clean. It had ventilator and AC and the bed was also gut. It was not like sleeping on a wooden plate, like on the most places in Thailand. And the the owners came to peek us up on the arrival and they drove us to the peer. Becouse of the wind we had to go to another pier. So pay attention from where are you leaving, becouse we booked the boat on Internet and they didn't informed us.
Po is great! Highly recommended ”
Great place, great view and beat of all the host (Po) was incredible! We arrived late, he took us to go eat, got us an extra bed and in the morning also took us to go buy ferry tickets for Koh Phangan!
Comfortable stay before heading for the islands”
We arrived on Suratthani airport in the evening and were hoping to get to the bungalow quick. There was no public transport available anymore so we had to take a taxi for 1800 baht (45 euro's), which took 1,5 hours. Wanghin Bungalows are nice, basic bungalows near the ferry for a very reasonable price. The staff gave us a free shuttle to the ferry (which was only a 3 minute drive away). They helped us buy the tickets to Ko Phangan as well.
For one night transit only”
If just are just looking for somewhere to stay one night for transit between the island and mainland then this hotel is fine. The bed was very hard, so we didn't really sleep. It's ok to stay here if you want to catch the early ferry to Phangan or Samui.
location of bungalow is perfect. possible to meditate on the sea view. bunlalows is exactly near the water, so you can hear the sea at night, it is very relax. bungalows have a nice veranda and friendly staff. room is not big, but clean and comfortale.
Far away from town, but very charming, clean rooms”
We stayed at Wanghin Bungalow so we were able to catch an early ferry from Don Sak Pier the next morning. While the resort has no beach (you can probably jump over the retaining wall to swim though), the bungalows are very cute and clean. It was one of the only places in all of Thailand that had a somewhat separate shower from the rest of the bathroom. For what we paid it was absolutely wonderful. I wish we could have stayed longer.
Beatiful cottages on the coast”
I booked this hotel because it is less than 1km from the Don Sak Pier, which is the take-off point for ferries to Koh Samui. This seems to be a common use of this hotel, which is unfortunate because it seems to be worth staying at of its own accord! They have individual cottages on a hillside sloping down to the sea. I arrived late at night, but the staff were expecting me (they asked if I had booked on Agoda). Although it was past 11pm, they were extremely hospitable, and offered me food. The Tom Yam soup was very tasty, but expensive. I had to catch the ferry at 10am the next morning. At 9:30am they were at my door, ready to help load my luggage and drive me to the pier. Alas I didn't do much in this hotel other than sleep the night, but if I am in that area again I will seriously consider staying longer and holidayhing at the hotel
Lovely bungalow nice people”
I was there just for one night transit. Because we love bungalow , so I chosed this one. Night from the airport is very expensive, u should contract the patron first will be better. The staff are really nice. Water free, transfert to the port free. Meal is delicious. Really love this bungalow^^
great location with friendly staff,”
Not much english spoken but friendliness and smiles in abundance. difficult to find even with a taxi, but well worth the effort, the guy will run you up to the ferry terminal for no charge, it is a long way to walk. would definitely stay there again no restaurant but they bring in for you good value
Friendly service in family run bungalows”
i arrived at wanghin during the slowest of the slow off season in this area. i received top customer service from the moment i arrived, including dinner, friendly chit-chat and even a motorbike ride to the pier in the morning. i would recommend these bungalows for anyone who needs to break up the long journey to koh samui.
Great location and super-accommodating staff”
We had a really long journey to get to Surat Thani and we didn't feel like dealing with a ferry journey to the islands late at night so we decided to stay in Donsak for the night. A shuttle service dropped us off at the bungalows and as soon as we arrived the staff asked us if we had eaten (we were ravenous) and within five minutes of our arrival we had been shown to our bungalow and had been provided with room service: drinks and a delicious meal. The bungalows are basic but pleasant, with aircon and TV which had some English movie channels. The staff also arranged to drop us off at the pier the next morning and we had breakfast room service as well. All in all I cannot fault it; and the location is fantastic to get to the islands. A ticket to Ko Phangan cost us 350 baht each and took a bit over an hour. The price is so reasonable and it was very convenient for us.
Fine for a stopover on the way to Samui”
We arrived late, for a stopover night before the morning ferry. This place was fine. Gave us some food, couple of beers, room was clean, nice view in the morning.
