Cheapest hostel I been in. But for 50 bath extra you get a nice clean hostel were you can get at least a coffee in the morning. If budget is the only thing its cheap but don't expect to much. Could use a good clean

A/c worked but, was a bit noisy. Wi Fi worked ok but, not great. Lots of street food at night. During the day, had to use mall food court, 3rd floor. Locals were friendly, not much English spoken but, overall nice town.

Good for overnight stay”

Basically perfect place for an overnight stay, before catching a ferry to the islands or catching a train. Very close to rail station 5-10mins walk on the street straight from railway station. Very cheap as well! Is it a hotel? Not really, since the place looks like a hostel and my boyfriend didn't even bother having a shower in the morning, so cleanliness is something it could be improved. A positive thing was owner/manager sorting out ferry for next early morning swiftly, even though we arrived at 11pm the day before.

Fine for overnight”

It was a very basic room in the back of an electronics business. Nothing fancy but suited my needs.

Good budget hotel”

The room was huge and clean. The staff didn't speak English very well. Wifi was advertised but didn't work.

Rubbish”

Rubbish room, was on the 4th floor, no lift, staff showed us to the bottom of the stairs only. Bathroom rubbish, bed hard, pillows even harder, bed linen badly stained, towels threadbare only fit for floor cloths.

some issues but good stay overall”

I had an interesting experience at Yong Dee. For one it's really far away from the bus station, but otherwise it's in a good location near the night market and lots of dining options. When I went to check in at around 9 at night couldn't get into the building, and since we didn't have a phone we couldn't call the emergency number and the security guard from the karaoke bar next door said he couldn't reach anyone at the number either. We ended up getting frustrated and found Salsa Hostel next door where we were going to stay instead but as it turns out the owner there is the brother of the owner at Yong Dee so he was able to get us checked in. Once we were in the room was as promised (huge room, good aircon) so overall the stay was enjoyable we just had a few kinks checking in.

Cheap and cheerful”

Couldn't really fault this place for the low price - it was exactly as it said on the tin. A large clean room with AC, balcony, fridge and cable TV. The bed was comfortable and amenities like shops, restaurants etc were right outside on the main drag.

Huge Rooms with Air Con”

Great for a night as we needed to take the train out of Chumpon the following day. Close to the market and mall.

Noisy room but spacious”

This is what you get for only US$17. OK for this price. Huge room space and large bath room. Another type of rooms available to avoid the busy street noise but smaller bed room only, perhaps for local people. Better ask the room with re-fridge, if you need it. Hotel is up on the home electric appliance shop.

It's Just an Apartment...”

many mosquitoes. no proper or dedicated parking for the apartment. left pretty much on our own with nobody at the reception counter if you need assistance.

Central, clean, comfy, all essentials, bit pricey”

If I could get this room for 50-100 baht cheaper, it'd be just right! We're backpackers touring SE-Asia on a budget for the past 6 months. Chumporn being a rather non-touristy city, we were expecting and hoping to find some much cheaper accommodation. That said, we were still satisfied with the actual hotel room. Very spacious and clean AC room with wooden furniture in good shape, fridge, warm shower, writing desk, clothes closet and Thai TV (no satellite channels though, so forget English programmes). There was also a balcony, but it was tiny and a bit grimy, so suited for smoking only, not for lounging. In the hall, a (free) drinking water dispenser is at your disposal! Because we stayed for 3 nights, we were also allowed to check in at 5 in the morning, when the night ferry from Koh Tao docked. This must be arranged in advanced. I don't think early check-in is an option for one-nighters! Beware that there's never anyone at the reception. However, the same owners run the electronics shop on the other side of the wall, so you can get their attention simply by popping by there, or by calling. In the evening, food stalls (selling OK pad thai) and other cheap stands sprawl up along the road just out the door. Can be a little noisy - an annoying ad truck with megaphones woke us up every morning as it passed by. The tourist information is on the same street, at the end of the road towards the railway station. Curiously, they too don't speak English, which is a little counter-productive.

budget hotel to recharge whilst waiting for train”

we were charge close to nothing for one night. we had 6 hours wait before our train arrive, it is definitely a good idea to check in to one of this hotel to have a shower, nap. many street food stalls available around this area too.

Nice Hotel”

the hotel is located above an appliance store. the owner are nice and welcoming. the bedrooms are huge and clean. the hotel is very well located close to everything by foot.
