What I really like staying in this hotel is they provide thick cotton blanket like hotel !!! Not towel for blanket nor cheap blanket like the others. So comfortable staying here. This hostel using card access like hotels also. Very spacious room. But, I dont like the waterplant in soap dispenser and shower. I hope they change it regularly. Bathroom floor is clean no waterplant. Lil bit far from the public facilities and beach.

Place was very clean, bathrooms very spacious with free soap and toilet paper, unfortunately moskitos, too, because the bathrooms are upstairs in an open hall. As i had a bed upstairs (dorm with big locker for my whole backpack, really liked that!) that meant I had to go outside and down some steep stairs, cross the courtyard and into the open hall and then into the bathroom. Quite a long journey, especially for a nightly walk to the bathroom...

Alright place though I am sure there is better”
The staff's limited English is irrelevant, as they were kind and helpful. Dealing with them for day trips was great. My gripe if anything with the facility is the poor layout. Someone in the room has to give up their card in order to obtain power to the whole room - lights, AC, and plugs. The seats outside are in poor condition, and while this was not an issue for me; the bathrooms are together. Shower and toilet x4 total. I suggest showering at night to avoid the morning foot traffic. It has the potential of being a social environment, though its not there yet. The doors also have a tricky issue closing, so for those that don't get the hang of it, the door will beep indefinitely until dealt with. Locker storage is great though, can handle any sized bag. Also keep that bug spray handy as the area is fairly open. Anything outside of your room and you will get devoured. Again not their fault, just the nature of the country. Is it worth it overall? I suppose. For the cost at least.

This was an ok hostel, staff were pleasant. The shower was just a dribble, not adequate enough to wash. Walls also didnt meet the ceiling in the the shower, so lots of geckos with you. The other downfall was that the shower was right beside the toilet, so you'd get the dribble of water from the shower on the toilet. Would be better if the shower was slightly separate from the toilet. Biggest downfall was that the toilet and showers were across the other side of the building, meaning you had to go outside, then back inside the building to get to the toilet. Not ideal through the night. I spent one night here, then moved accommodation. It was also slightly out the way. It's such ashame as this hostel could be great. It covers alot of floor space, but the set up isn't appealing, practical or ideal in any way.

Friendly staff - but shy, Clean rooms, clean bathrooms, hot water, boring Decour… And the usual hostel roommates that are often unconscious coming in at four in the morning from partying making a loud ruckus

Good hostel, we didn't speak much with the stuff or take any service from them. The hostel is in the middle of the Iceland, good distance not that close to the beach but far enough to be quite for sleep.

It’s okay for a basic place to stay”
So it’s okay the rooms aren’t too bad and big locker and bed was okay. There’s not much else to it though it’s a bit further away from the party scene which is good for noise but the cockerels will wake you up from 4am anyways. There isn’t much atmosphere I didn’t really think the staff were too friendly and in my room it was a group of unfriendly foriegn girls who sat as a group so it wasn’t the best but it’s fine for just a bed and place to sleep if you’re out all day!

It's a shame I have to write this but my bed at this place was infested with bed bugs. I left this place covered all over my face and body in bites and I found them in my clothes and bag. They were EVERYWHERE. I don't want anyone else to go through through what I did. Bed bugs are the absolute worst.

Decent Hostel”
Was a Decent Hostel, bit of a walk to the main party area but not too far. good if you want to get some sleep at night on this island. all the other hostel are next to the party area so you can forget about sleep. Rooms are air conditioned and they have decent toilets. Was pretty clean from what i saw and the bathrooms seemed to be cleaned regularly. Not much in the way of a social atmosphere here. Bit hard to meet people if you are a solo traveler if you don't meet ppl in your dorm room. Staff are OK. beds are comfortable with power and a light next to each bed. Nice big lockers in the rooms as well. Would recommend if you are already traveling with someone and want to get some sleep while on Phi Phi.

Good place to stay in Phi Phi”
one of the few normal hostels around. Clean, comfy rooms and toilets, location close enough to town and partying and to walk to the viewpoint and longbeach (phi phi is tiny as it is) but tucked in the back so you don't get all the party noise and can get a good night sleep. Staff was OK, not to keen to answer questions and provide travel advice.

The bed there was so nice. The best I ever had while backpacking, a really nice tick blanket and darkness! You would want to stay inn all day long. Location was perfect, nice little garden, everything on walking distance. aircon, clean. shower was nice (but a lot of mosquito friends in the shower). If I go back to Phi Phi I will go back here.

Stayed here for three nights while on Phi Phi. The rooms were fine, good size beds and lockers. The rooms get cleaned once a day, unfortunately when people return from being out alot of sand ends up in the rooms so they could do with a broom in each so the sand can be swept up. Definitely not enough wash facilities for the amount of guests at the hostel. There are queues in the morning and evening and it doesn't help having both toilet and shower together. There is a very large disused so called lounge area so there is plenty of space to add additional wash facilities. The toilet paper is non existent (and very very cheap - imagine tracing/baking paper) because there are so many people here. The communication with staff could be improved also. The place has a lot of potential for sure. It's on the quieter side of the island which is great. If someone cared enough, it could definitely be the nicest hostel on the island with very little work.

Looks like a prison, but it was clean”
There was very little choice on Koh Phi Phi in terms of hostels if you're the sort of person who doesn't want to party all night. Freedom was quiet and clean, but the staff weren't exactly friendly, the foyer looked like a prison and it was largely empty. Nobody really socialised in the communal area and there were four bathrooms, each of which contained an electric shower and toilet. As soon as the bedroom doors were opened, mosquitoes made a dash for the light so be sure to wear lots of DEET! The place was basic and dreary, but it was clean and quiet.

On 7-1-2016 I travel to the island by booking a Freedom hostel AT phiphi when booking travel, but do not expect it to stay beyond expectations, the beds are very comfortable atmosphere. Good people are good, I do not screw it back on next time will come again.

Nice and Quite place relatively to Phiphi variety”
Phi Phi island is very poor among hostels variety, i found it hard to find a decent place to stay during my visit. Nevertheless most hostels located at the beach party area and are very noisy. Freedom hostel is the only one i found that has quite location and nice facilities. However the location is not central. Considering that Phiphi island is relatively small still there are 10 min walk from the hostel to the beach or anywhere else. The rooms are fine. Not sure why they have only 4 showers which include inside the toilets - at evening always need to wait in line for showers and bathrooms, need to take that into consideration. Besides that the stuff is lovely, the rooms in good condition. maybe i will recommend a room downstairs to be closer to the bathrooms.

Clean beds and friendly atmosphere”
This hostel is value for money as it has very clean environment with air-conditioned rooms. Lockers and wifi is provided. However, the hostel is slightly far away from the beach and is about 10-15 minutes walk away from the beach bars and parties.
