A lovely little cabin with awesome views out to sea over the Friendly Beaches. Absolute peace & quiet with the local wallabies happy to join you when you're out on the deck. The cabin itself isn't large but it's well stocked with everything needed and the kitchenette is large enough to prepare a decent meal if you don't wish to eat at Coles Bay. The free 375ml bottle of wine provided in the cabin was a lovely touch and greatly appreciated. Highly recommend this place for anyone looking to visit the Freycinet area, and where budget isn't such a huge concern.
Peaceful shack, off the beaten track...”
This was a hidden gem. Tranquil, quiet, surrounded by wildlife and away from the hustle and bustle. The shack is located on a huge property in between Bicheno and Coles Bay. It is hidden away from the other buildings on the site and overlooks its own personal pond and has an ocean view you can see from a well appointed outside deck. There is a practical kitchen with a gas oven and cooktop, a small tv with DVD player and DVD library, comfy master bedroom, CD player, wood fire and sunroom. The only quirk with this property is that until you’re there you don’t realise how incredibly isolated and out of the way it is. The driveway is a 10 minute trip back to the main road. I say this because on our final night at the shack my husband and I woke up to the sound of music on the CD player at midnight… we later figured out that there had been a blackout and that the player had turned itself back on while we were asleep but I’ll admit it was quite eerie in the pitch black in the middle of the bush… so maybe not great for smaller children who don’t like the dark….
Fantastic view on top of the hill! Top notch environment and facilities! ”
We had an amazing time at Freycinet Eco retreat. View from the lodge was fantastic. You get wildlife right outside your door step. The lodge was thoughtfully designed and built with quality. Little things like having salt pepper, butter, cling wraps and foil made cooking very convenient in the lodge. There was also a complimentary half bottle of Pinot noir which is the label being served on Quantas First Class! Owner was also very friendly and thoughtful in briefing us on where to dine at, which route at Freycinet to take. We also got lots of privacy! Environment was really peaceful and serene. Ohh yeah, wifi was really strong. Excellent place to stay in!
Do yourself a favour and stay at Freycinet Resort!”
Freycinet resort exceeded expectations. The view from the studio is breathtaking and the studio itself fitted out perfectly. Staff were lovely and the recreation area near reception was a great touch for things to do after our day hiking. You'll feel like you are falling asleep and waking up with nature - highly recommend!
Amazing views- we didn't want to leave!”
I am so glad we decided to stay here- the view from our cabin was amazing. I loved that the place was energy efficient and very eco! Very close to Freycinet National Park and plenty of great restaurants around. We only stayed for the one night but really wished we could have stayed longer. Will definitely be recommending Freycinet Retreat to friends and family visiting Tasmania!
excellent view! tranquillity! modern!”
room is equipped with modern and advanced furniture and devices. floor heating, wall panel heater, fully equipped kitchenette. beautiful bathroom with hot water that never runs out. many wallabies. great view from bed. breakfast provided of milk, orange juice, museli, cornflakes, cheese, jam which you can ask for more. 5 min drive to freycinet marine farm with good priced seafood.
Amazing Eco retreat”
Beautiful lodges tucked away in my Paul with the peaks of Freycinet I the distance. Indigenous wildlife everywhere, peace and quiet, welcoming knowledgable staff: what's not to love? Our only regret is we didn't book for longer!
Very private location and the view is stunning. Shame we only stayed one night, wish we spent more time in Freycinet. Room is focused on one thing, the view. Will not hesitate to stay here again next time.
Absolutely stunning. Small and intimate quiet and relaxing. Great place to explore wineglass bay. We took our own supplies of food and kitchen was great to prepare meal. Breaky stuff was included which was a bonus and we enjoyed the bottle of wine that was left for us. Would highly recommend and would stay again. Thanks.
It's quite remote, and the drive up to the retreat was a bit rough, but that's what makes this retreat unique and allowed us to be completely submerged in nature. We had a great view towards the bay. The night skies were filled with stars and we woke up with deers and wallabies right outside our porch. It was absolutely amazing.
Great views ”
This resort is so amazing it's very peaceful place and exclusive mountain ans sea views. All staffs are lovely friendly. In the room they're welcome you with the bottle of champagne. For the entrance is a bit far from the resort and little spooky at dusk.
A lovely place to stay”
Cozy little lodge with balcony overlooking the Freycinet national park.
Fablous Location and Privacy”
Problem with room WiFi - no laptop internet connection (only place out of ten we stayed in TAS with this problem). For 400AUD per night a bit frugal with toiletries (one small sachet of conditioning shampoo/conditioner per person to last for 2 nights) and room breakfast supplies a bit 'motel-ish'. But peaceful, quiet, a huge comfy bed with good linen and a very helpful owner.
Secluded, comfortable and quiet retreat”
What an amazing location, if you are looking for a secluded and quiet location, this is it. Where nature is on your door step. The cabin is in the middle of nowhere and has everything you need. Certainly not modern, however the facilities are all in place. The layout is comfortable with a place to read your book or what a movie. The Wombat and Wallabies are the only locals you need to worry about. We would highly recommend this accommodation for those wanting to get back to nature.
a little piece of heaven”
We booked 3 nights and ended up staying for 5. Such a wonderful amazing place. the owners Virginia and Philippa have built 8 studios and 2 cottages over a very large piece of land, so everything is nicely spaced out and nature preserved. 4 km drive in means that peace and quiet are ensured. we love the wild life there and the views are amazing. We had a wonderful stay, one of the best in a long time and hope to be back soon. Check out the recommendations made by Virginia and Philippa. good stuff and great fun. Good job V & P!
Absolutely A M A Z I N G. I would love to live here.”
If you want to get away from all the madding crowds and be in a cabin in the middle of the woods sitting on top of a mountain with excellent Wi-Fi, this is it. Period. Away from the maddening crowds. Extraordinary views. Separate cabin in the woods with all the modern comforts. Each cabin has own WiFi. Extraordinary design. Eco-friendly. One of the best places we stayed ever in 28 years of traveling together.
Great place for a few day”
This retreat is fantastic. Absolutely beautiful location with fantastic little cabins which have everything you need. The breakfast provisions are perfect to sit out on the deck with and the ability to cook your own dinner on the supplied BBQ's was a great touch. Would highly recommend this retreat to anyone looking to stay in the local area.
Great location and spectacular views.”
Great place to unwind and enjoy the beautiful Tasmanian coast line. The cabin was very neat, tidy and cosy. The only thing I would complain about is that you can't use the microwave or stove top in the kitchenette which was not communicated to us before our stay and we brought food with us to cook. With no food available on site or nearby it was frustrating. We will be back however as we loved relaxing here.
Even though printed, guests should be verbally told of drinking water cautions on check-in( e.g. In my case had a drink of tap water upon entering room before seeing cautions/recommendations). Room design and comfort was excellent. Nice work.
Away from the rest”
A nice self contained studio apartment with all necessary amenities. Love the sunrise seen right from our balcony in the morning. Also had a wild wallaby across our balcony at night. Do note that it's up on a mountain so it's best to check in prior sunset.
