Pros : peaceful area away from the cwrowd, surrounded by local residential houses, etc. Convenience store is also available about 8-10mins walk just down the road. Cons: approx 2.5km (one way) to the local supermarket & main area with restuarants. Hotel shuttle bus: punctual and on-time. Helpful staffs who will assist with your luggages. *Personal note: No doubt you might read comments that the place is "old" , " tourist trap" , etc. But please keep in mind that this is a rural district operated by locals. Overall at enjoyable experience. Thank you Fuji view hotel.
Relaxing facilities with scenic views”
Fuji View rooms were spacious and a welcome respite after the tiny rooms in Tokyo. The bathrooms were clean, but no matter as you will want to spend your free time outside of the outdoor activities relaxing in the onsen! For the ladies, Fuji View provided top-shelf amenities including shampoo, conditioner, body wash and body moisturizers/oil. The onsen had both an inside and outside portion with the outside having appropriate privacy. I don't think you can go wrong with the rooms that view either facing the lake or facing Fuji. Lake Kawaguchiko does not have a "downtown" area with a multitude of shops and restaurants, so you will want to choose the property where you stay carefully. Fuji View is on the west side of town and they offer a free shuttle into town throughout the day. Again, this is a sleepy town, so there are very few locations open before 1000 hrs (outside of 7-11/Family Mart) or after 1800 hrs. Outside of those hours, you will need to order a taxi. The hotel will need at least 1/2 hour notice to obtain a taxi.
Hotel with a view, ground and lake”
The ground is lovely with a lake at the back Room is basic but the view is great, we are greeted by Mt Fuji every morning. We booked a room with Fuji view and we got one that is right in front of Fuji-san. We are very happy The onsen is lovely, went there everyday, the temperature is just nice, kept at 40 degree, the outdoor onsen is very relaxing. The dinner is too expensive and not value for money. We have Japanese styled dinner course in many hotels and ryokans around Japan and this is the most disappointing. We are shocked at the food we were served for the price we paid. We have always enjoyed our Japanese dinner course elsewhere, some are truly magnificent and memorable but sadly not this experience. We only dined once while staying in this hotel but I must say, the breakfast is very good, we looked forward to the breakfast every day. The spread is fantastic. We were asked to pay for our kids breakfast, our kids are sharing a room with us and we gladly do so.
I absolutely would recommend the Fuji View Hotel. I was fortunate enough to visit during full bloom sakura. The grounds were beautiful then, but I am am sure it would be nice throughout the year. It is worth the extra money to have a room with a view of Mt. Fuji but if you have a room with a lake view, you will still enjoy your visit. The hotel has two panorama lounges which afford great views of Mt. Fuji. Looking at a map, the hotel may seem a bit far from the train station, but don't let that concern you. The hotel has a shuttle van operating to and from the station every hour. The ride takes only ten minutes. Also, the local tourist bus passes right by the hotel. Finally, I recommend including breakfast with your stay. I ate both the Japanese and Western meals and they were delicious.
Our stay in the Fuji View hotel was lovely. It's located beside the Kawaguchiko lake. You can rent a bike to cycle around to the center, find some restaurants, do some shopping, etc. The room was spacious, clean, and we had a view of Mt. Fuji, which was beautiful. Beside the hotel, towards the lake, there is a bus stop for the green busline that takes you to all sorts of activities around the area. We only discovered this during our last day, which was a shame! But it brings you to all the good stuff. You can catch the red line from the station, but you'll need to get the shuttlebus from the hotel., which goes once every hour. The staff were very helpful and friendly. One night, we tried to arrange a taxo for dinner, but there weren't enough. So, they had one of the members drive us to the restaurant. Unfortunately we had to make a reservation for the planned restaurant, so he recommended us a Japanese BBQ place that was owned by his friend. This was a great recommendation!
The best location for an awesome view of Mt Fuji”
The day we landed at Kawaguchiko, it had snowed the previous day and we were not very sure which mountain was Mt Fuji amidst all those clouds. The hotel has a viewing station at the 6th floor and we woke up early at 5 am hoping to catch a glimpse of Mt Fuji during sunrise. We were at the lift lobby and lo and behold ! Mt Fuji in all its majesty could be seen from the lobby window. The hotel has a beautiful walk in its backyard which takes you to a lake. It was a beautiful walk in the morning alongside it taking in the beauty of the mountain. You can see it from everywhere at the hotel - even while having your breakfast. Other than that, the staff is very friendly, the amenities are very good. The room has a balcony with chairs to sit and take in the beauty around . There are beautiful cherry blossoms too. Dinner is priced high ( but delicious), you may consider bringing in packed food / bentos. A bus from the Kawaguchiko station every hour drops you at the hotel.
We enjoy this hotel a lot especially with the Fuji view from the room!”
We have a good stay at Fuji View Hotel. The room we choose is with Fuji Mt. view and it really makes our stay wonderful. Staff is very friendly. Bike rental is available at hotel but make sure to ask them first because they only have 5. Hotel shuttle bus from train station is convenient and fast yet mind the last one is 18:30. Hotel breakfast is AMAZING! We love the food and the Fuji Mt. view from the restaurant window. Only one disappointment is that you can NOT see the Fuji Mt. from the hot spring place. Make sure to buy some snack / drinks before you head to hotel as there's no shops nearby. Overall, we love the stay and highly recommended. Mom is really happy :)
Great hotel! Great for families who wants to relax!”
We had a great experience with Fuji View Hotel, despite being far from the town center, the view, food, and amenities were great. They do have a free shuttle that will drop you off/ pick you up in kawaguchiko station that runs between 8:30am-6:30pm. We only stayed overnight, but if we do return, we’ll definitely stay there a bit longer. Breakfast was superb. :) If you wish to stay here, make sure to book the room with the mount fuji view. We were lucky enough to get a corner room, which allowed us to get a partial view of lake kawaguchiko and a full view of Mt. Fuji! :) Don’t forget to try the onsen! :) Place could use a bit of upgrading, but i guess the oldness of the facility is part of it’s charm. Also, John Lenon stayed here before. :)
Hotel with Famous Fuji View”
Unlike the other onsen hotel I stayed in Kusatsu, Fuji View should have been there for quite a long time too but it’s very well maintained. The room was very modern, beds was comfy, and it comes with an air humidifier in the room! I didn’t know there’s an onsen in B1, the onsen is very well maintained and clean with an outdoor pool. When I checked in, the hotel staff took good care of me - she checked if I have dinner plan, transportation going back to Tokyo and then helped me to book for dinner in the hotel, shuttle to Kawaguchiko station, even recommended me to check out the fireworks and arranged shuttle for me. All the staff in the hotel were very attentive. The Fuji view was fantastic, remember to go up to the panorama floor to check it out too! I had a relaxing stay.
Mount Fuji View & Sakura (Cherry Blossom) ”
I had an amazing and direct close distance Mount Fuji view from my balcony (only USD 280 per night). They have so many different type of Sakura trees within the hotel area, which giving you a private space to take as much photos as you like and enjoy the scene without any interruption from any tourists. The hotel itself is a golf club and the service was really good. Unfortunately, I missed the breakfast as they only open until 9:30am. I should have asked upon checked-in as I thought breakfast usually ends at 10:30am or 11am in most hotels. They do provide shuttle bus service to Kawaguchiko Station but the latest bus is 6:30pm. You gotta take a taxi back to the hotel if you prefer to have dinner at restaurants nearby Kawaguchiko Station.
Room with Mount Fuji view (Dec19)”
There are hotel shuttle service pickup from Kawaguchiko station from 8.45am and ends at 1845pm (1hr interval). Distance about 5mins drive. You are able to view Mount Fuji from many locations around Kawaguchiko lake. Unless you wanted a room view of Mount Fuji (awesome view) which you need to pay much more for, if not room rates for garden view room are much cheaper. Rooms are pretty old but well maintained. They served Japanese buffet breakfast and have public onsen. There are 7-11 ,lawsons and not many restaurants around Kawaguchiko station, you might want to grab your food around that area before heading to the hotel. Hotel dinner set starts from ¥2800/pax. To get around Kawaguchiko lake, u can take the hotel shuttle bus to Kawaguchiko station and board the red line bus.
This hotel has one of the best views of Mt Fuji! We arrived on a miserable day with no view of anything. Our hotel room was a traditional tatami mat room which was looking a little tired, but still comfortable. When we woke up on our secondary it was sunny and there was definitely a view of Mt fuji- amazing! Buffet breakfast good and the hotel also had a shuttle bus to pick up and drop off holiday goers to the nearest train station. I would recommend this place to anyone who wants to stay the night near Mt Fuji.
A nice old style resort hotel”
Pros: very nice ground, good view of Fuji from our room's balcony. Large room, tidy and clean with adequate accessories. The standard set dinner was reasonably priced and excellent quality. We by chance came in on a fireworks night (emperor's birthday). The hotel provided free shuttle bus to take guests to the lakeside and thoughtfully provided a handwarmer pack. The fireworks was delightful, and it was not very crowded (corona virus means no China tourists). Cons: hotel is a bit dated. Bathroom equipments are seviceable, but can do with modernising. The dining room/breakfast room are more like a package tour or university dorm setup, though the food quality is quite acceptable . The hotel's location means the rooms are either lake view or Fuji View. Though we should not really complain.
I went during the latter half of winter so I didn't experience the possible heat problems other reviewers were saying. I cannot say enough how impressed I was with everything. Everyone was extremely polite, my room, while a bit small, had 2 incredibly comfortable beds and it was nicely designed for what I was paying for. Get the breakfast buffet at least once! You won't regret it. To this day, it serves as one of the signature breakfasts of my travels in Japan (I've been here every year for 3 years). They are professional, the food is delicious, and the view at the breakfast hall is amazing (if the clouds do not obscure Mt. Fuji). The walk around the lake is wonderful and if I ever got married, I would definitely book this place for a honeymoon (as I recommended to a friend which he did!)
Lovely Place, Stiff Staff”
Fuji View Hotel is arguably in one of the best locations to enjoy the view of Mount Fuji. The surroundings of the hotel is beautiful and the interiors are clean and spacious. However, the experience with the staff wasn't that great. We booked a Twin sharing but kindly requested if they had a double room to accommodate us upon checking in. We were rejected and told that we booked a Twin Room, so twin room only. Okay, no problem. We got our keys and went up to our room but everything was in a mess. We dragged our luggages down again and explain to them that the room wasn't ready for check in. The staff who checked us in was visibly irritated and insisted that it was our room. We kindly requested for someone to follow us up to understand our situation. Upon seeing it, they gave us a new room but the staff who checked us in DID NOT apologise. However, the staff who assisted us to our new room was very apologetic. Some staff need more training.
Great Mt Fuji view ”
The shuttle bus picked up at the station on time and staff was really friendly! The room is spacious and very clean. Yukata is ready whenever you checked-into the room. They have both indoor and outdoor onsen. I went in around 9pm and it was not crowded at all. We didnt expect to have such perfect Mt Fuji view during our breakfast in the hotel! After the breakfast, we wanted to have a short-walk and then accidently discovered the Lake kawaguchiko was just 5 min walk from hotel. If you are holding the kawakuchiko & hakone day pass, you dont have to go back to the Kawaguchiko station, there is a bus stop at the back entrance to the hotel. Very convenient.
Great view of Mount Fuji!”
We had a mountain view room, and WOW is the view amazing!! We could not see Mount Fuji the night we arrived, but the next morning and until we left (We only stayed 2 nights) the mountain was in full view and breathtaking! The breakfast buffet was delicious (although, the cuisine is very Japanese) - not included in price though, but considering it's a bit of a hike into town it was kind of worth it. Very quiet but nice area, we did have to take a taxi in/out of the main part of town. Extremely helpful and friendly staff. The onsen in the basement was nice and clean, very relaxing.
Mt. Fuji view from the Hotel”
- there is free shuttle between the hotel and Kawaguchiko station. Please check the timetable. From the hotel to the station u have to reserve ur seat at the reception. The hotel only has 2 vehicles (1 van and 1 mini bus) - The hotel has onsen but it is regular one (dont expect like the ones in Kanazawa, Hakone, Nikko, else) - for breakfast with Mt. Fuji view, u should come earlier because the restaurant will be full (so come earlier to get best seat)
We booked a Mountain view room last April 12-13. The trip from Haneda using the Tokyo Wide Pass was quite long but the view on the way was great. Mount Fuji can be partially seen and there were a lot of sakura blooms along the track. It was too early in the season the cherry trees in the area only had buds. But the view of Mt Fuji from the room is amazing and in the observation deck it was even better. There were some vending machines at the basement and some massage chairs. The shuttle service was on time. Eating buffet breakfast at the restaurant on the 2nd floor was a real treat as the mountain can be clearly seen.I expecially liked their yogurt and cereal and a chef can make any omelet you like. We were turned away by Bellevue as we did not have a reservation. Lucky for us, they forgot to remind us to make a reservation when we checked in, the set dinner was too expensive. Left with little choice, we brave the drizzle at past 8. We walked for about 5-10 minutes in the dark as the lamps barely lit the street. There was an old style Japanese restaurant open that let us in even without a reservation. The food was delicious but cheap.
A beautiful hotel with quiet surroundings and awesome facilities”
This hotel has free shuttle bus to and from the station almost every hour. It takes 6-7mins using shuttle service to and from the station. The hotel has a panorama view of the surroundings (you can see Fuji san too!), and seats available to enjoy the view. There is a newly refurbished outdoor and indoor onsen. The indoor has Jacuzzi feature in two of the pools. The staff are very warm and readily available to help you. Walk 5 mins from the hotel and you can reach the lake to have a nice walk along it. The room is very spacious, and the TV is adjustable to whichever angle you prefer within the room. The beds are very comfortable with mid firm pillows. The toilet is functional with a Japanese size bath tub inside. Yukata is available to wear to go to the onsen! The nearest restaurant (Nabeya) takes 5-10mins walk from the main gate, on a clear night, you will be able to see a lot of stars along the way, as the hotel surrounding is quiet. Definitely will visit again for a relaxing stay.
