EVERYTHING OK, NO CONS.
Room was basic but clean and was fine for us. WiFi was very weak and wouldn’t load any websites for us either in room or common area. Common and area and kitchen is basic but ok and clean with all amenities. Location was great for us as we wanted to be close to the airport. 15 mins walk to Hakata Station and from there 5 mins on the metro to airport. It was a bit of a walk to central area but we didn’t mind, Metro service is reliable. Overall it suited us fine but we thought It was very overpriced for the standard we got compared to other hostels we have stayed in in Japan.
Everything is good with this hostel. Only that it is a bit far from Hakata station but well there is a bus with 100 yen fare. However, I like it since it is very quiet and facilities are all good. Just hope on every floor there is a female bathroom.
The staff is friendly, helpful and can speak fluent English
The staff are nice and it is about 15mins walk from Hakata station. But it was a bit noisy when someone was using tap water. I heard the sound of water running through the pipe, etc clearly. If you are light sleeper like me, maybe it wont be that great to stay here.
Great little hostel”
Great little hostel, friendly helpful staff and super clean. Other reviews mention the lack of toilet/shower facilities, these are only few but manageable if you avoid the peak times (of which the hostel inform you of when you arrive) Would recommend and would stay again.
Great place to stay
Japan is no cheapo”
This backpacker is well managed. Lots of information on pictures in the lobby and great staff at the reception. You will get any assistance you need. The (single) room is very small. Stayed on the first floor (which is ground floor in Japan). No view, extremely small room, old mattress, but clean. It is very noisy, as the doors don't close smooth and everybody is in and out all the time. Earplugs highly recommended. Facilities and the whole place are very clean. A bit pricy for what you get, but the nice girl at the reception makes up for it.
Quite far away from Hakata Station, but very comfortable.”
Going to the hostel on foot will take around 20mins. But the place is quite safe, surrounding the hostel are resident housing and commercial building. There is common place on 3rd floor, having a kitchen , toilet, female bathroom and TV Room. No lift in the building.
Simple hostel - not as new compared to the others that can be found in JP but good considering the price. Staff was friendly and helpful. Far from JR station but near to some of the good food locations.
It's pretty nice! ”
I won't say the location is really great, but you can take bus to the Hakata station, and the bus stop is just nearby. So it's still convenience. The room is toooo small. I know Japan's hotel room is always small, but this one disappoints me. However the staffs are fantastic and they are happy to provide any information you need.
Retired Auntie at this Hostel ”
First off, I was a little apprehensive about staying in a hostel (because I'm 59, retired and normally stay and 3 and 4 star hotels). My 17 year old niece and I travelled together for 3 weeks in Japan and part of the experience was to try a range of accommodation (including a hostel and ryokan), so I gave this hostel a try, and I was quite satisfied. First of all, it's clean, and that's most important to me. The staff were helpful and friendly too. There's a bus stop about a block and a half away with quick access to Hakata Station for 100 yen. There's a convenience store about a block from the hostel, and a good supermarket about 5 blocks away, a very easy walk. The washer costs 300 yen and although there is no dryer, there's lots of space to hang clothes on racks outside on the 4th floor deck. I always have about a dozen large plastic coated paper clips in my travel kit, and these came in very handy to secure socks and underwear onto the hangars provided. I washed two loads in the late afternoon and everything was dry by 8:45 p.m. (the roof top access closes at 9:00 p.m.) We stayed 3 nights and although I found the bed way too hard, it didn't kill me. Our room was small with a small desk, one chair and a bunk bed and air conditioning that worked very well. Toilet and showers were shared, but there seemed to be enough capacity because we didn't experience any long wait times. As was expected, most of the guests were younger than me and everyone was respectful and there were no noise issues.
A good choice for limited budget to Hakata!”
Though it's a bit far away from the Hakata Station (like 10mins walk, which is still acceptable), the price is rather low and the living environment is quite clean too. The staffs are really helpful as well! Recommended!!:)
This is one of the loudest hostels I have stayed in, traffic outside and very thin walls. Every sound made in the hostel can be heard in the rooms, and with people coming and going all night... I often stay in dormitories, but this was one of the worst. Nice staff and great location, but the building is not meant to accomdate that many loud young people...
Good location, nice lounge and comfortable bed”
Not too far from Hakata Station (even with a lot of luggage). Small room but the bed is comfortable and there is a memory foam pillow which was great. The place is fairly clean as well. There is a nice big lounge area in 2 rooms (1 with tatami mats) and a balcony. There is also access to the roof where you can dry your clothes and relax.
I spent almost 2 months there 'till i got my apartment on the Town and i wanna say it was an incredible place to stay and meet other travelers and share experiences. The place is a Building with 3 Floors, spacious rooms and confortable bed and full equiped Kitchen and toilets with Shower gel,Shampoo and Towels. Very nice place with 1 tv room and computer area, very friendly staff and absolutly clean and perfect localitation with Convinece store,Vending Machine,24h Restaurants and near to Hakata Station. Always when i back to Fukuoka this is the first place i want to stay.
nice and clean hostel”
This is a nice and clean hostel and the room I booked is a bunk bed, upper desk is more comfortable then lower one, for the lower one, even cannot sit stright. But on the next day when I checkout, I found the bunk bed in other rooms have more space for the lower level. Maybe can ask before booking, my room was the first one in 2nd level.
Only negative was people coming in late, turning on the overhead light and keeping it in until after 1am. I realize this is a personal thing with each guest, but Khaosan's sister hostel in Beppu has curtains on each individual bed and the main light has a dimmed setting. Very nice.
Excellent deal for the money.”
This was a late check-in, early check-out stay, but I was impressed by how clean and neat everything was, especially the kitchen, and how many facilities and amenities were provided for such a low cost. There was even a curved neck-support pillow on my bunk bed--best pillow I ever had at a hostel or hotel!
comfortable place in walking distance ”
This is the third times I am staying at this cozy hostel in a walking distance from Hakata Station. The place is clean and the staffs are helpful. There are Lawson convenience store near by so you could stock up some food & drink on the way to and from Hakata station.
