Fukuoka Guesthouse Little Asia Kokura
Very convenient location”
Propose of Stay: JR Travel Very convenient location to enjoy Kitakyushu downtown area, Kyushu, Japan. Near JR Kokura station, many shopping locations, Tanga market, etc. The right price for backpackers.
Nothing in the room except mattresses and double deckers bed. Not a place to book for stay”
1) Have to put on own bedsheet and pillow cover, when check out have to undo the same. 2) This place only suitable for people really have no place to stay.
Location is very close to both the monorail (1min away) and kokura train station (10mins). It's located in the 'business district', but isn't dangerous at all. Infact, it adds to the atmosphere. The mattress itself was more comfortable than I expected (based on what previous reviews wrote). Only issue would be the lack of shower facilities for the numbwr of guests staying there.
Super kind host”
We are a group of 3 where we have 2 girls and a guy. Both of us girls manage to book a room somehow our guy friend doesn't have any room. We wait there and try to slow talk with the manager there. Since it was almost midnite, we requested her to at least let our guy friend slept at the kitchen or living room. And she kindly help us with that for 2 nights since there is no room available in the town as it was a peak season. The female dorm is so comfy and the location is nearly at the heart of the city of everything. Very convenient. Super kind hospitality. Would recommend other budget travellers to stay here.
Just fine, nothing amazing
very good guesthouse and this is second time to kokura
nice place to stay for a few days. Located in a 'lively' area, but very safe.
location good, kind staffs but in not good area”
Located very near to the Kokura station, only 5 minutes on foot, but it's surrounded by host bars and clubs, so not good in night. Staffs are kind, friendly but they are working for part time job for staying there, so some things are not organized and personal stuffs are piled up. But I enjoyed staying in general.
bed large, nice staff, but if you go to common room need to go upstairs, not convenience. no hand wash, just a solid soup feel like not clean. female dom not enough toilet and bathroom. just only one bathroom and toilet for more than 10 ladies use.
The staff may be unhelpful if you don't speak Japanese.”
It was different from other stay experiences I had at Japan. I speak Japanese fluently, and I could see that the staff were looking down on me, or seeing me as a equal friend. I did not mind this, but it may be a bit uncomfortable for some customers. The staff did take good care of us afterwards though.
Fair Hostel, Don't Expect Too Much”
This hostel is located at around 10 minute's walk from JR Kokura Station indeed. It is situated in the area of bar street. It is quite noisy and dark there at night, somehow feeling insecure due to its location. The bed isn't very comfortable. Sleeping on the upper side, the stair and the bed seem quite fragile. But the shower room and toilet are clean. It is recommended for a short stay there. The common area is occupied by some people who seem not to be the guests there, and the overall facilities are old. Yet, given that comparatively low price, it is already satisfactory for a bed overnight.
Very homely ”
I came to this place not knowing what to expect but suprisingly everything had a very homely atmopshere. The staff and everyone living there was super friendly and welcoming. The location is great..your a 5 minute walk to kokura station and ten minute walk to kokura castle. You are in downtown so everything is within walking distance. The bed was nice, they have these really fluffy comforters that are to die for..soo fluffy and thick, truly amazing..I really wanted to take one home with me :) I would deff. Come stay again
Busy and crowded location”
The hostel is a bit difficult to find, it is in the busy district, red light district, many pub, bar and restaurant. It is not so easy to get parking and it is not free. Besides, there is no private bathroom and have to share, no clear indication in Agoda booking.
not good not bad”
Clean. Nice common room”
Clean room and clean shared bathroom. There's an elevator so no need to bring luggage up and down. Common room is pretty cozy and with everything provided.
Comfortable and am thankful for staff who provided me with all the information I need to get around Kokura.
The place was very close to Kokura station, about 10 minutes walk. The room was small and very badly-furnished. There was a bunk bed, and an air conditioner in the room. Thats it. There was not even a hanger to hang jackets or even a small table to put stuffs on. The bunk bed was so old that it produces an ear-piercing squeaky noise when climbing up to the upper bed. The mattress was so thin I had to place the provided extra blanket under so as not to hurt my back. The was only 1 shower room for man and one for women. So its very likely that you have to wait for a long time to take shower at peak hours.
Only the location is good and the price is cheap. But don't expect too much.
Budget Dorm ”
The dorm is not clean for japanese standards ( a little bit dusty ) The location of the dorm is in the middle of night club & karaoke and on the 4th floor
