Very convenient location and close to main attractions”

The hostel is in nakasu kawabata shopping street near the rear entrance and a few steps away from Kushida Shrine and Canal City Mall. Its at the heart of Hakata area. I realized that by staying in this area I saved money for transportation cost as I can walk to majority of attractions within Hakata and Tenjin. The staff were also great and accomodating. The place was very clean and its easy to navigate around. I stayed in the female dorm room for 6 so its understandable that other guests are a bit loud and since I am a late sleeper I kinda get surprised during cleaning time in the morning but this is nothing major as the staff are very considerate. The only down side for me was that the bed was hard and it kinda hurt my hip. Nevertheless if I happen to go back to Fukuoka I will definitely stay here again. And I will also try to stay in other Hana hostel chains within Japan.

Amazing Location”

Location, Location, Location

Since this is a hostel, do not expect amenities like hotel. But most hotels in Fukuoka (or Hakata) does not have lots of amenities too. Hana Hostel is an amazing hostel that is located in Kami Kawabata Shopping Arcade, near to Canal City and Nakasu Kawabata Station. During my stay, you can see many other tourists/backpackers went out till (very) late! I stayed in a 8-person mix dorm, and I have my own little cupboard. I can draw up the curtains and I will have my own private space. For the pricing, I will definitely opt to go for this hostel for my trip to Hakata region next time.

A really pleasant place to stay”

Lovely and attentive staff, close to public transport, close to attractions

Fukuoka Hana Hostel is a really nice base from which to explore the city. I stayed in a double room which was very comfortable, and it also had an ensuite which was small but fine. The best thing about the hostel is the staff as they are so friendly and will go out of their way to help you, while the location to pubic transport and to a shrine (across the road) is also a great feature. I would stay there again.

Lovely stay on my last night”

Hana Hostel was one of my favourite hostels that I stayee while in Japan. The ataff were extremely friendly and the hostel is a great place to stay if you want to be in the centre of Fukuoka. There was a small event on the night I stayed where one of the staff taught us how to cook some Japanese food. Would recommend Hana hostel to anyone travelling or passing through Fukuoka!

Must Stay Hostel in Fukuoka!”

2nd time staying in Fukuoka Hana! Glad I returned & stayed again. Slept in a 3-bed male dormitory room. They gave my request of reserving a bottom bunk. Common area was super clean, staff were super nice. The dormitory room had a private bath & toilet which is a plus! Location was very central, located along the Nakasu Shopping Street. 20 minutes walk from Hakata Station, 10-15 minutes away by walk from Tenjin. Too many establishments nearby. Will stay here again in the future!

Decent hostel in a good location”

Fukuoka Hana Hostel is conveniently located close to shops and restaurants. It's about a 15-min walk from Hakata Station. The private room is bare and it doesn't have one of those awesome Japanese toilets. There's no elevator so you'll need to carry your bag up a flight of steps. The common room and kitchen is nice though. I think the price could be lower for what you get.

Best hostel I've stayed at”

Staff; location; dorm beds (good size, doesn't make much noise)

I received a Fukuoka ramen noodle package for staying 3 nights when I checked in; the alternative was to receive 300yen off...nah. A tall beauty checked me in. I remember her vividly because she poked fun at my last name and called me "Santa Claus." I didn't mind, she was quite funny, nice, and her personality was very cool. Get the ramen by the way, I made it while waiting for my room...incredible taste...yummy. The dorm beds are nice and quite larger than other hostels; they're sturdy and don't make quite as much noise as other bunk beds. The showers are cool. They have a push mechanism to assure that water is not wasted - it shuts off in about a minute unless you push again. Shower rooms are convenient and spacious too. It has multiple hooks to hang your stuff and a shelf as well. Toilet rooms are kept clean and smells better than other hostels. There are 3 sinks for communal washing and brushing in the hall. Clean, very clean hostel. The communal area is a bit small and the kitchen as well but not too many people utilize it unless it's near check-out time. Overall, a great stay with 3 great women handling things up front for the guests. I'LL NEVER FORGET MS. SANTA CLAUS HOWEVER. I like being "Santa". ;-)

Overall was excellent. Was there for 8D7N with a room of 3 bunk beds, room is simple, clean and tidy. The hostel location was central, located inside Kawabata arcade that comes with shop lots and eateries. 24 hours ramen and udon shops as well. Along the arcade, there's one popular eatery which the only one has a waiting list, it's famous for its gyoza (dumplings), reasonable price and just located right in front of the hostel. Convenient to walk to shopping mall (canal city), subway stations (Nakasukawabata, Hakata), and shrines.

Excellent staff, good impression in every aspect!!”

Very nice staff, good location, with a fully-equipped kitchen

This was the second time that I stayed at this hostel. Last year I stayed 2 nights, and this time 3 nights. As I stayed relatively longer time at the hostel without going out to visit, I think I have noticed more about the management of the hostel, and share more with readers here... I observed that all staff (from the manager to front-line officers-in-charge (I would not call them receptionists as their work coverage far exceeded the post title!)and to cleaners as well were dedicated to their work, which resulted in that most guests were satisfied with their stay here. I noted that every day there would be quite complete cleaning of the hostel. Even the mattress of the dormitory beds would be overturned and put up for better ventilation. This was impressive, as even if you pay the minimum bed rent, your level of satisfaction and hygiene would not sacrifice even a bit. For me I found the kitchen most enjoyable. There were different styles and sizes of cooking tools, and guests were totally free to use them (of course the big refrigerator too). With the 100 yen shop and a small shop selling fresh fruits/vegetables just beside the hostel, and also a 24-hour supermarket in 1-2 minutes' walk, guests like me could enjoy much of the local Japanese life instead of eating out every occasion. Wifi work well on every floor, except one morning when there was breakdown of connection. There were two computer stations for shared use by guests. From time to time parties would be arranged for guests. The hostel had arranged 1-2 staff members as party organizers. I missed a BBQ night which just cost 300 yen per guest as it was held just after I returnd home. (to be continued in my another passage of comment while my content exceeded the 2000 words allowed, as I had stayed separately this time in the hostel)

Great place to stay!”

The location is great. It is in the middle of Hakata, very close to Canal City, and only takes 10 minutes by subway to/from the airport. The area nearby has a great number of cheap eat restaurant (there is a good udon restaurant opposite to this hostel). If you want a tight sleep then this hostel is also great! It is very quiet at night so you can sleep well without disturbance. The staff is also friendly, and is able to commute with a great fluency of English and Japanese. I would definitely recommend this hostel to everyone.

Great Time in Fukuoka”

Hana Hostel is very clean and location is close to the subway station, Canal City Mall, shrines and museums. Staff are wonderful...they helped me retrieve a pair of shoe I left in their Kyoto branch. Shoutout to Sachiko and Nana...They were also very helpful in giving directions to the places I wanted to go to. Plus Museums, shrines are just around the corner. If ever I am in Fukuoka again, I will definitely stay in Hana again. Its value for money!
