Amazing spot in Middle West District ! ”
I Spent 3D2N in Fuqi Hostel, and what I'd experienced is remarkable. I asked for several demanding route recommendation for my second day in Tainan and the owner suggested to start my adventure exploring around the nearby streets in that area, I did it and it's definitely the best way to get in touch with the local lifestyle (Oh, remember to make good use of the map which Fuqi provided, I promise it will come in handy). I‘ve learned about Tainan's history from the owner, who is really passionate to explain every bit details of Tainan with you. Enjoyed much during my stay :)

Very nice. Will definitely stay here if we happen to visit Tainan again! Love the idea of revitalizing a 50-year-old building! Wonderful common area where we can always chat with staff and other people. Got activities frequently, real fun. Extended our stay at Tainan for 2 days (and of course we chose to stay here). Real bargain.

Cozy new hostel with friendly staffs”
We enjoyed our stay in this hostel, great clean environment and friendly staffs. Location is great, close to food and sight seeing attractions. However, the room we stayed is a 3 beds private room which is surprisingly small (actually the smallest room i have ever stayed), can't open our luggages in the room. If you're taller than 165cm, it's hard to even straighten your legs when sleeping. I think the dorm bed is better choice than the private room.

All basic necessities met. But space could be a bit small to some. Our 4-bunk f male dorm did not have any room at all for luggage, and we had to keep our stuff outside the room where cupboards are provided. And I feel that the toilets and shower rooms are too small, though clean enough. Hostel owner Kevin was really did well in introducing us the hostel rules and regulations, as well as Tainan's food and spots to visit. Hostel is just a stone's throw away from Guo Hua Street where lots of local delicacies could be had.

Kind and english speaking staff, especially Emily. No hassle in checking out. The hostel is beautiful inside. I love the neighborhood. We stayed for 5 nights and we're glad we booked here.

I stayed in the budget single room for 4 nights. The room was tiny but enough for a solo traveler. The bed was a thin mattress which for me was ok too. Nice atmosphere. Staffs were nice and helpful. They also offered biscuit and different kind of foods and drinks. Wifi was fast. The bathroom was tiny, but again, enough for me.

The place is really beautiful and cozy. The staff is so kind and really helpful. On of them bring me to the hairdresser to translate what I want. The boss make us do a tour on the old part of the town and give a bunch of useful information. So really good place with amazing people for sure I would stay here again.

A terrible experience”
First of all, the bed offered is terrible —it offers a wood bed to us,and I woke up with low back pain every single day!!!! Secondly, when we came back to hostel ,the locked door would not be opened.We immediately wanna seek help from staff,but NO staff stays there (around 9pm). My friend and I had to wait for almost ONE AND A HALF HOUR (90 mins) to wait for someone open the door. And they told me that the lock is damaged due to the bad weather . Also,there is an nauseating smell in our room ,and the air conditioner is Out of function. When I use their washing machine and dryer (for clothe), I dried my clothe for almost 2 HOURS, and the clothe is still wet(I ONLY WASHED 5 CLOTHES). But something worth mentioning is that the decoration of this house is quite good—their painting is cute. Also, the shampoo offered is quite good This is the only thing I could appreciate .

In general, you pay for what you get. Met a few solo travellers there though mostly are Taiwanese travelling with their friends. The toilet and bathroom could be an area for improvement in terms of the size.
