Took us a while to get to the hotel from Takayama train station. No English translator in the hotel. Double bedroom was okay. Onsen was awesome.

Not worth for money. ”
Very far from train station, need to walk up to hill to reach the hotel with our luggage, especially our luggage is a bit heavy. Free shuttle bus need to call From 3pm-6pm to pick up you from train station. If reach early have to walk to the hotel, take 30 mins. Hotel is old n dirty front desk can't speak well English, service no good. Air con never wash very dirty. I find pay for $170 per night not worth for this kind of standard of ryokan. Other hotel pay less but get better room standard n service. Very disappointed with this ryokan. I was looking forward for the breakfast, but breakfast is very simple.When I book from the website, it stated with very good breakfast which is not true.

Good Japanese style room in Takayama.”
Room is wide, clean and beautiful with small rest room. Private bath room is ok. But shared onsen is more interesting. Traditional Japanese breakfast were very nice. Staff is friendly. They provide pick up at Takayama station but you have to call them for transfer. Hotel is located near old town area but on the hill. Be careful if you walk on snow days.

Exceptional”
This is a traditional style Japanese hotel in an excellent location for exploring the old parts of Takamaya. The staff were helpful. We only had dinner at the hotel once but it was excellent.

Warm owner, great breakfast, location on hilltop”
Breakfast is fantastic and great experience for Japanese food. Good hospitality. There are couple of ways to reach downtown, one of it is cut through another hotel (on its left). Head down to Morning market.
Taxi easily available, book through reception. Hotel provide shuttle, to book in advance.
Recommended for leisure stay.
