                  Good value for money”

Fresh-cooked breakfast, quiet location, friendly staff

G2 Boutique Hotel is a great value for the money. Tucked away from the main streets of the old city of Chiang Mai, the location is very quiet and next to the homes of real-life Thai people. The room was cozy and the bathroom's concrete floor gave it a spartan feel, but there was nothing uncomfortable about our room, and we slept well in the bed. Not only that, but we received fresh fruit to our room every day! If you like a fresh Western breakfast, G2 is the place for you. In the morning, our hosts cooked us eggs with bacon, cut fresh fruit and served with a full cup of coffee. Yum! A great way to start a day of elephant tours and the like. The staff in general was very friendly -- they even helped my girlfriend decorate my room to surprise me for my birthday! About the only problem with G2 is that taxis and tuk-tuks have a difficult time finding this place, and the drivers weren't able to read the map provided on the back of the hotel card. So you might be wandering around a bit looking to find G2. Other than that, I think you will have a good stay here.

Wonderful small hotel - keep it up!”

                  Cleanliness,

I am seldom 100% satisfied with a hotel or room, because many photos or reviews are just a fake - but - the G2 hotel exceeded what i expected. Its a pretty new small hotel located in a peaceful residental area of the old city of chiang mai, just a short walk away from the next main road where you can find tuktuks, food and everything else you need. Rooms: I've stayed in both Room categories. The rooms are large and superclean, no moskitos inside the room (outside they're everywhere in chiangmai), bathroom is large and the design of the whole place is just awesome. Very hard to find anything negative here - a real boutique hotel as you expect it. The staff is absolutely helpful - altough there was a problem with the agoda booking and not their fault at all, they managed to fix the issue at my time of arrival which was around 1am.

Fabulous - No faults but one”

                  Staff, Decor and Location

To summarise, we would not hesitate to go back to this hotel. The staff, the decor and the location are all great. Plumbing was the only issue but all the good stuff can make you put that behind you. Probably the best hotel we stayed at during our 3 month much-lower-than-usual-budget trip to south east Asia. Staff The friendliest, polite, kind, considerate, sociable, informative, etc. Couldn't fault them. All three staff covering the administrative/management duties are great and the cleaning lady may seem a bit on edge at first but give her a few smiles and she is also great (seems like she is new to the tourist environment). Decor As soon as we walked in I felt like i was at home. The decor is in line with similar themes I've used in our house in London. Very modern, minimalist yet somehow homely. It's a new hotel so expect new fixtures/fittings. The garden with fish filled waterways on the ground floor is a very good use of space. Room We stayed in a Superior room. Very nice decor as with the rest of the hotel (see above). Each room has sliding French doors overlooking the garden. Good for fresh air and a pleasant view. A kettle is also provided. The bathroom, although decorated well, is the let down in this hotel. The plumbing is not up to scratch. The hot water only works at very low pressures and the drainage system isn't great i.e. the water from the shower/flush doesn't drain as quickly as it should. However, it's not extremely bad, given the other qualities of the hotel it's very easy to forgive and get pass this. We rebooked this hotel at least 3 times even knowing of this issue. Location Located in a very nice residential part within the south east side of the square / ring road in Central Chiang Mai. Its more of a large house converted into a modern boutique hotel so you are surrounded by residential housing with gardens/flowers/plants/etc.....its a nice atmosphere walking on Ratchamanka Soi 7 to/from the hotel (see the rest on tripadvis

Its more of a large house converted into a modern boutique hotel so you are surrounded by residential housing with gardens/flowers/plants/etc.....its a nice atmosphere walking on Ratchamanka Soi 7 to/from the hotel (apart from the neighbours dog who will

Very helpful staff, close to the "Walking Market"”

                  Staff, food, location

The taxi took us from the AirPort 150BTH. Be prepared there are tiny streets, and even taxi drivers get lost in old town. The area of the hotel is not the nicest but it is safe and the hotel is very nice inside - modern, minimal style. The receptionists are there from 7.30-midnight and always ready to help! Laudry cheap, tours, Spa, massage and transfer back to AirPort can be organized at the reception. The receptionists are extremly helpful and always smile - not faking it like in other places! They called several taxi drivers to find out who is the cheapest for us in early morning(4am), since they always raise the Price if You go late or early morning. They also Tell You which tour Agency is cheap and good quality. We did a 1day tour with elephant riding, tracking in the forest, bamboo rafting on river incl lunch and transfer from/to hotel for 1000BTH/person. Elsewhere 2-3000/person. Chiang Mai is famous about the tailors, the best is "Chiang Mai Fashion" - it is close and maybe not the cheapest but they make your suits within 24h and if needed they send You the suit to your next/last accomodation (within Thailand for free!) so You don't have to carry. The owner even offered us a 1day long tuk-tuk Service by one of his 60staff because we were on holiday ;) Also there is a good restaurant on the corner where "walking market" starts during weekends it's ThaanAoan where You can eat a lot of thai food, served by very nice waitresses (bit weak English but OK) and it is cheap!!! There are so many things to see nearby - mountians, Tiger Kingdom, long neck village, handicraft village, temples, etc. It worth to go there for at least a week or so. The old town is quite, while the new town is more touristy and more life in the evening. But the tuk-tuk and taxi is very cheap, so stay at this hotel and You will have good time ;) we loved it!

The fishes in the garden, the stuff, good breakfast

The hotel is located directly in the centre of Chiang Mai, inside the city wall. For two main temples it is just less than 10 minutes walking. Located in the very calm and quiet street. The hotel itself is quite "boutique" that means plain walls. The rooms were not feeling comfortable for us, but nothing bad. Just strange. The stuff was very friendly and helpful. The very small garden in the front of the hotel makes a good impression, especially we liked the fishes. The breakfast was very basic, but well made and quite fullfilling. Overall, we do not think that it's a 4-star hotel, rather good 3-star. We had a nice stay.

Friendly Staff, Good Price, Close to Airport

We had stayed at the hotel for 4 nights in May 2014. One thing I have to mention is that we really loved the staff who worked there. They were so friendly and helpful throughout our stay and they really made our stay worthwhile and memorable. Even though there was no big buffet served at breakfast, we were quite happy with our breakfast. We were served fruits, coffee/tea, eggs of our choice, toast, and sausages. We were also provided with complimentary fruits and water everyday. The hotel is only 10 minutes away from the airport and few minutes away from the night bazaar by car which makes it a good location to stay at. It is a bit hard to find at first but it is quiet and away from all the noise which is great. The only drawback I would say is that there were a lot of Chinese tourists staying there during our stay as well. They were really loud especially at night and the walls of the hotel not thick enough so we could hear them while we were trying to sleep which wasn't very pleasant. Overall, a good experience and I would definitely recommend G2 boutique hotel.

                  Quiet and Comfortable”

We loved G2. Down a quiet soi and near some nice restaurants. The room was fantastic, silent, and everything worked well, AC, WIFI etc. We stayed on the third floor. Comfy soft beds. Staff was great, especially Fan, who is beyond lovely and incredibly helpful. Really great hotel. If I had to make one small criticism, it's that there are no power points/outlets anywhere near the bed, and no desk or chairs near the outlets. If you want to use any electronics, bring your own extension cable. I asked a man at reception if I could borrow one and he flat out said no. He assured me that in the entire 3-star hotel, there wasn't a single extension cable or power bar anywhere. That kind of irked me. Small word of advice to the staff: don't say "no" to a customer without offering some sort of solution. Great place though. Really great. You're in good hands here. Thank you Fan.

                  Value, location, quiet

G2 Boutique Hotel is decent value option in Chiang Mai, but not exceptional. It is conveniently located both for the old town and the airport. It is up a side alley which makes it peaceful, but some songtaews will not go right to the hotel. Staff were OK. I did not eat at the hotel, so can't comment on food.

Clean room, good staff performance, very quiet

We have stayed 4 nights. At the beginning we were not impressed by the look (hotel has got strange boutique style grey finish on the walls - they should change it!)but the room was clean, with the AC, fridge and hot water can, perfectly working shower (I mean by this good pressure and amount of hot water). Fresh large breakfast & fruit service in the afternoon. Staff was very polite and helpful and we were feeling like quests. We appreciated a lot the quiet surrounding - had perfect sleep in otherwise very busy city, but still walking distance to great places like Wat Phra Sing and Sunday market (10 min walk) or Chaing Mai Gate (15 min walk, good local food and Saturday market). At the end we extended our stay by 1 more night.

comfortable rooms, awesome and helpful staff, quiet neighborhood.

This hotel is tucked away in a quiet soi. Everything about it is great. Great size room that was comfortable to be in. Staff was very helpful. They booked tours for us at great prices, better than what we were quoted at various tour locations. The breakfast included is cooked on the spot and it fills you up for whatever your day has planned. It's small boutique, which is why they don't skimp on quality service. It's hard to find for drivers not familiar with the place and the road is narrow giving cars a hard time maneuvering with oncoming traffic. Location could be a turnoff for some people, because it is quite a walk from most activities or foreign friendly areas. However, the price and the quality of the hotel all makes up for it and a bit of walking won't hurt. Also, safe neighborhood at night. Highly recommended place.

A nice hotel with only a few rooms. Very modern (lots of concrete). Friendly staff. Good value for money. The only problems : the curtains in the rooms are not very efficient, and the part of Chiang Mai where the hotel is located is not the most interesting one (but the old town is small and the main streets are juste a few minutes away).

Unfortunately I had to spend most of my holiday in Lanna Hospital but managed to get 2 nights here out of 7. The staff were very helpful, with a superb ground floor room. The bathroom and shower was huge and it was a shame I was unable to use the shower because of my condition. Breakfast was good and basic and freshly cooked to order. The Hotel is tucked away in the back streets but it is still easy to get to the main roads for shopping and taxis etc. Will make a point of returning next time in Chiang Mai.

                  Quiet, great guest services,

I liked the G2 Boutique Hotel, but my husband did not. I felt like it was a decent hotel. The room seemed smaller than the picture on their website showed though. It was very quiet, which is one of the reasons I choose that hotel. There is only 9 rooms. If you want to be in the center of things this is not the hotel for you. It is an easy walk to the shops, etc. If not, grab a red truck or tuk tuk. We never had a problem catching one down the alley from the hotel. Again the bed seemed a bit hard for me and the pillows too big, but I have found that in every hotel we have stayed in in Thailand. My husband likes a hard bed, so he thinks they are great. I'm used to a pillow top at home. There is no clock in the room or washcloths. They supply you with two bottles of water a day and coffee and tea is in the room. We did have problems with the shower running hot and cold, but found if we left the water running in the sink it seemed to solve the problem. We stayed four nights and breakfast is pretty much the same every morning. If you order sausage its a hot dog. The people at the front desk went above and beyond, they are fantastic. Our train to Bangkok wasn't until 6 and they let us stay past checkout, 100 baht per hour and it was well worth it.
