Amazing Customer Service, Awesome Room”
From the moment we arrived at the Gaju Suite Hotel until the moment we left, our stay at this hotel was incredible! When we arrived, the owner, Reuben and his assistant greeted us with smiles and impeccable English! They upgraded our room from a Deluxe to a Suite (which was like having our own private apartment, complete with living room, kitchen, spacious bedroom and bathroom) since they weren't fully booked and it was low season! We were escorted to our room and asked if we needed anything else--our jaws about hit the floor when we realized how incredible the suite was--we'd been staying in lower-budget hotels and decided to treat ourselves to a nicer hotel with air conditioning for our last few nights! The rooms were clean, modern and even though there's load sharing (power outages) throughout the entire city, the power would only stay off 30 seconds, max....We'd stayed in other hotels where the power'd be out for hours. Also, the internet was extremely fast and reliable, which proved difficult to find in other locations hotels in the city. The Gaju is located in the heart of Thamel, but despite it's proximity to the bars and restaurants, is surprisingly quiet! Breakfast in the upstairs restaurant was fun! The restaurant is adorably decorated and breakfast was good! Their lunch/dinner menu is reasonable and the food is excellent quality--I was hesitant to order meat at most Kathmandu restaurants, but the Gagju's food quality was exceptional! The restaurant turns into a lively bar in the evening, and we got to hang out and listen to excellent live music with the amazing, friendly owner, Reuben...The customer service was over the top wonderful! The staff was friendly and always gave great advice! Guests also get a 25% discount at the spa inside the hotel and I received an amazing pedicure for a few dollars at the salon across from the spa. We were sad to leave this wonderful oasis in the city and we will DEFINITELY return again!! For the price we paid,
Outstanding new business class suite Hotel”
Gaju Suite is a unique and new venture focused at providing a superior standard of service where hitherto Kathmandu hotels are uniformly small, with frequent and protracted power outages. Gaju Suite had strong Wi-Fi in most rooms, reserve backup power almost instantly. Rooms are clean and well furnished. This is very new property. Some small details still need to be resolved to realize the uniformly high quality standard they aspire. But overall outstanding value. This was our honeymoon; I definitely look forward to returning to Gaju Suite on our next journey to Kathmandu. Fine rooftop restaurant for breakfast and meals through the day as well as a live music venue with views of the cityscape. Restaurant downstairs also excellent. Central location in Thamel is right outside the front door, easy to get to and also to escape from. Gaju Suite was our home in Kathmandu, not just a tiny room to sleep. Bravo!
Brilliant Corporate-Style Suites in Thamel”
This location is wonderful, and the quality of the accommodation is simply astounding for Kathmandu. The Hotel is a part renovation of a business center on Thamel Marg, so it is a relatively quiet location in the evenings, and the fit out for the rooms is corporate style accommodation - suitable for business travel but a real find for anyone looking for wonderfully clean rooms and great bathroom set up. There was always hot water whenever I hopped into the shower, and powerouts are at a minimum, here, I am guessing this is in part because the building itself is designed as a business center. There was also a security guard who was located in the stairwell at night - although the security on the doors is pretty comprehensive itself, as a single woman travelling by myself I found this to be reassuring. The Yeti Cafe is great for breakfast just below, but you can get great bakery items where the locals shop too, just a few doors down towards Leknath Marg, and there are grocery items available in the small shops alongside as well. All up I would thoroughly recommend the Gaju Suite for the professional, no fuss, and smart service, where I felt completely at home and slept a good deal more soundly than on many of my other nights in other locations, in Thamel.
Great Place to Stay”
We stayed at Gaju Suites from December 2 to the 5th and I was very happy with my choice to stay there! I have stayed in many different hotels, from 5 star to small local family owned places in larger cities like Singapore and Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia to small villages in Thailand, Indonesia and Vietnam. This was the best small, family owned hotel I have stayed in. We were made to feel at home and all the staff are friendly and recognized us as we came and went throughout the day and were very helpful with any need we had, even going out of the way at times to help with things like helping me get a local SIM card for my phone. The rooms are big with full kitchens, living area with flat screen tv, large windows and very clean. They also have heat, which was needed in the room at night. We had a cab waiting when we arrived at the airport even though we only called for pick up about an hour before we arrived. There is a lift up to the rooms on 3rd and 4th floor of the building. Also have security on each floor which is nice. Ground floor has a restaurant with really good food and great prices and a spa, salon and money changer too. 5th floor has a nice restaurant/bar (The Reef) that has a really good band there each night. I have seen some reviews complaining about the noise from the band but we stayed on the 4th floor and were not bothered by it. We could hear the music, but it was muffled and not loud by any means. Room service was fast, free wi-fi internet worked great and location is in Thamel area close to shopping. I will definitely stay there again when I return to Kathmandu.
We decided on Gaju Suite quite some time ago after founding it on the Internet and was looking forward to staying after our trek. We were certainly not disappointed at all! We had a free upgrade to suite and the room was huge!! There was a big kitchen as well as a living room. The bedroom was very comfortable too and we had a really good sleep! Location wise, it is located at the shopping belt of Thamel and very convenient to make a trip to the nearby supermarket. On the negative side, there was not wifi on the ground floor where the lobby is located, as well as on the 5th floor where the bar is. Also, it will be excellent if the shower and toilet area is separated (so that water will not flow all over). Also, although there is a big kitchen, but there was not a single piece of utensil. Not a big issue to me since I do not intend to do any cooking but will be great if there is a flask to boil some water if necessary. Having said that, I will not hesitate to recommend this hotel to anyone who is going to Kathmandu and I will stay here again next year when I go to Kathmandu again. Great and friendly staff!
Home Away From Home”
This hotel was the best I stayed so far. I stayed in this hotel for 10 days. On arrival I came to know that my room was upgraded to a studio room which was quite spacious. There was lots of privacy which I wanted and got. The hotel staff was excellent. If there was any problem, one had to just ask the hotel staff who would quickly come up with some solutions. The room is well maintained. As said in the hotel preview on the internet, there was no problem of Hot or Cold water 24/7. There was high speed internet available 24/7. The room service is also good. It was like a home away from home. Even if there was a load shedding, the electricity would be restored with few minutes. The roof top hotel is just beautiful. To my surprise I was given a Free Airport Transfer on the last day. I would surely recommend Gaju Suite Hotel. I would keep coming to Kathmandu often and will always prefer to stay in this hotel.
Good, Clean & Efficient”
We have a very pleasant & relaxing stay at Gaju Suite. The hotel is clean and warm. Hotel is situated at the entry way to Thamel street so its it not so clutter in the of all the chaos that was Thamel. There were music from the rooftop bar but it cease after 12am. Which is a god sent as the last hotel we saty in at Thamel, there was a bar/club was blasting thru the night. Shops are just out side the hotel and Durbar square are within the walking distance. Walk to Durbar square and you will notice the difference of shops and clientele, fascinating! Breakfast was limited to 3 selection of sets which was fine with us. Less wastage. After the 2nd bbf, the staff have known our preferred beverages. All in all we have a great stay at Gaju suite and we will definitely recommend this hotel to our friends.
best hotel in thamel！”
Gaju is located in central Thamel, so it's very easy to get around. Suites are super clean compared to other hotels. I booked a 5-star hotel for my first night in Kathmandu and ended up switching to Gaju for the rest of my stay. There's also a Reef restaurant and lounge bar upstairs from the hotel which opens until midnight. It's the only nightlife I found in Kathmandu. The only problem is that not many driver can find this hotel.
Great comfort and value in Thamel”
I return to Kathmandu frequently and keep returning to Gaju Suite. The suite/apartment room is spacious and the staff is exceptional here, as always. For this price, there is nothing in Thamel that I've found that compares. My only suggestion this time would be to really pay attention to the guest comments about doing more soundproofing, as the nightly bar band (at least on this stay) played 6 nights a week and really the whole building vibrates with music from 7 or 8 pm until midnight. Other than that, another very enjoyable stay.
New hotel in heart of Thamel - fantastic service!”
We stayed at the hotel before it was finished as it had not officially opened. We were given a free upgrade to a suite by the hotel management who were fantastic during our stay. The suite was great, featuring a living area with cable TV, a separate kitchen area with cooker and fridge, a bedroom with a/c and a large bathroom. When we learnt that the wifi had not been hooked up yet, the manager came to our room with a free card to connect to the public wifi outside. When we returned to Kathmandu after a few days we were again upgraded to a suite. When we remarked that there was not yet a fridge or fan in the room the management brought one from another room 2 minutes later! The rooms are large, new, comfortable and clean, but as this is an apartment, rather than a hotel, don't expect hotel facilities or room service (although they may plan that to come!)The maid will come once a day to give you fresh towels and clean the room. The management did everything that they could to ensure that we had a comfortable and pleasant stay and they are a large part of what makes Gaju so special. Great service, great room, great location - enough said...
A Diamond in the Ruff of Thamel streets…”
Searching for a hotel in thamel was a headache!I came across GaJu hotel out of pure luck, not a lot of reviews on this place but I went ahead and booked it. Without trying to sound like a paid advertisement I can't say enough good thinks about this hotel. I found a gem in the craziness of thamel streets. What really made this hotel experience for me was the personalized service the hotel owners give to the guests. I stayed in room 107 which was an upgraded room. The one they gave me originally had a tub and I prefer a stand up shower. The hotel is brand new with a modern decor… Soft beds Very hot water all times of the day WiFi service Flat screen Tv (I didn’t watch Tv so I’m not sure what the channels are like) Kitchen with refrigerator and microwave Same day Laundry service I originally booked the hotel for 2 nights but after trekking and staying in a nightmare of a hotel in Pokara. I went running back into the arms of the GaJa hotel for a night of decent sleep. Love it here id definitely go back.
A haven of tranquillity in Thamel”
I booked this place for 4 nights a couple of years ago after trying other hotels in the Thamel area and decided that this was by far the best of them all. Stayed here again a total of 7 nights on my 4 week holiday in Nepal earlier this month and once again was not disappointed. It really is a haven of peace and tranquillity in the chaos that can be Thamel. As the name suggests, all the rooms are suites (I think) with a separate bedroom and living room. The one I stayed in was huge, I opened the door and had to laugh, it’s the biggest room I’ve ever stayed in. Being a solo traveller I felt a little guilty having so much space. But after staying in some pretty awful rooms elsewhere in Nepal the guilt lasted only seconds. It even had a kitchen which was very useful, especially the fridge. Best of all was the amazingly comfy bed and duvet, I felt like royalty. The bathroom is between the bedroom and living room and is wet-room style with a great shower and almost instant hot water. The breakfast room is in the nightclub up on the top floor. Usually there is a choice of 3 set breakfasts, veg, non-veg and Nepali and occasionally an all you can eat buffet of everything. The choices are amazing and even the set meals are way too much for one person to manage. My only slight complaint is that when the nightclub is open it can get a little noisy especially the clicking of high heels on the dance floor. I think it only operates occasionally as in my time there it only bothered me twice, though it’s more amusing than annoying and didn’t prevent me from getting to sleep. All in all a great place to stay in Kathmandu. Amazingly helpful front of house staff, great breakfast, good WiFi availability, spacious and spotlessly clean rooms and close to everything that happens in Kathmandu. 10/10.
Pleasant hotel with friendly staff.”
Fairly new hotel in lively neighbourhood, in the heart of Thamel. We had,2 people, a relatively small but cozy room on the fourth floor with very good, large bed.In the evening live music band can be heard on the fifth floor,if you donot like that, ask room on third floor, but we did not bothersome. Breakfast is excellent, but after one week, one-sided.Very good and cheap jeweler- and hairdress-shop in the hotel. Staff very friendly and helpful, there is even throughout the night guard, so feel safe. Certainly recommend, considering price/quality and fairly quiet location in this busy part of Kathmandu, this hotel. Would definitely book here again. Ideal location in Thamel”
I definitely recommend this hotel. This hotel is on one of the main streets in Thamel, set on the 2nd and 3rd floor of a commercial building. Yet, at night, it is surprisingly quiet, as the street dies down pretty early. It is a new hotel, so the rooms are nicely done and well maintained, all that you would expect from a new hotel. The staff were great. I was upgraded from a deluxe room to what appeared to be more like a suite upon my arrival. The staff were very helpful. I asked for a late check out, since my flight was late at night, and you will get very dusty walking around Kathmandu, and they were able to give that late check out, very late in fact (I know this is subject to availability and note December is not the high season in Nepal). Be mindful that if you are traveling when it is cold, the rooms get very cold. You should ask for a spare key to put in the socket in the room so the heat in the bedroom will stay on while you walk around town. I made the mistake of not asking, and the room was freezing upon my return. Also, if you do have a suite, be sure to ask for a space heater for the living room/kitchen area, as there is no heater, and the room really becomes unusable without being heated to some degree. The only down side to the hotel at this point is that breakfast is not included, nor does the hotel provide the typical complimentary coffee/tea in the room. It is not so much the price (everything is cheap in Kathmandu) rather than the convenience. The staff really did not know where to tell you to go for breakfast. Here is my suggestion, particularly if you are looking for good coffee - turn left out of the hotel, walk down a bit on the street until a t-junction with a street on the right - down that street there is a coffee/pastry shop called Pumpernickel. The hotel is building out a restaurant/bar on the top floor of the building, so maybe breakfast will soon be included.
Best in Thamel”
We stayed in the 4th floor. 2 Apartments. From the start to departure we were really happy with their really hospitable service and nothing too much trouble for them. The owner Mr Ruben personally helped us and all his staff we found to be very well trained and helped guests in any way they could. Specially few names come up, Anu(Anamika), Gina, Kapil to name few. We stayed in few places in Kathmandu and Gaju Suites was by far the brilliant hotel that to us provide 110% service. The breakfast was excellent.. Reef Bar/Lounge in 5th floor was excellent place to listen and dance to live music every evening. All I could say is we would most happily stay here at any time.
Dear Francis, Greetings from Gaju Suite Hotel! Thank you for the wonderful review. We are glad to enjoyed your stay at Gaju Suite Hotel. We look forward to serving you in the near future. Thank you Mr. Mendes and Mrs. Mendes. Best Wishes, Gaju Suite Team
We had a great stay at Gaju Suite Hotel. Its spacious, clean and centrally located. Staffs are very friendly and attentive especially Mr Ram Kumar. Very good breakfast and dinner was excellent. I would rate it as the best hotel in Nepal. If i go back to Kathmandu i would definitely stay at Gaju Suite Hotel.
I CAN NOT FORGET TO LIVE IN A QUALITY HOTEL”
I would definitely choice Gaju Suite Hotel when I next time to visit Nepal again. The most important thing is select a home-like of hotel. I Could feel quiet, privacy and security. All staff warm and thoughtful service. A good location to make us feel more convenient. Gaju Suite Hotel.
Great and Nice”
It was great staying at Gaju Suite Hotel during my stay on 4/26, 5/8 & 5/9. The taff show their friendy and supportive during my stay on these days. My room was upgraded with the best deluxe rooms on 5/8 & 5/9. My husband lost his glasses on the car which was arranged the pick up at the air-port by the hotel in the late evening that we can get it back in the morning of next day. One thing is required the improvement in the bathroom that there is no stand to place our stuff for shower such as shampoo, bathing gel and cleaning cream etc. However, it's enjoyable during my stay in Gaju
So nice I stayed there twice ...”
I stayed at the Gaju twice and really enjoyed my stay both times. I stayed in other places in Nepal and even Kathmandu, The Shanker, and much preferred the Gaju. The rooms are very comfortable with great beds and very clean all around. The rooms have wifi and a flat screen TV to add comfort to your stay. Moreover, and most importantly, the staff was wonderful! They try to make you stay as comfortable and pleasant as possible and are helpful. The service, treatment and room/location/amenities you will get during your stay here really make staying at the Gaju more than worthwhile. I highly recommend this place to fellow travelers!
Excellent Service - Excellent Location - Kathmandu & Pokhara”
Room Facilities: We stayed in the ONE BED ROOM APARTMENT SUITE . It was huge for the 2 of us. Pros of the room: - Huge space for 2 of us. - Microwave & Fridge Available - Clean room - We stayed in Room 302 and we could hear the music every night from the bar/restaurant on the 5th floor. Honestly I don't mind but if you are light sleeper, you might want to consider this . Cons of the room: - The shower head needs a major overhaul. It's dirty. I hope the mgmt can look into this. - The hose next to the toilet bowl also needs cleaning. - There is no TV in the bedroom ; it's only available in the living room. Sometimes in a new environment, you need some TV to fall asleep so having a TV in the bedroom would help. Location of Hotel: The hotel is located in Thamel which is the shopping paradise of Kathmandu. The security in the hotel is good ; we see the guards constantly walking around in the lobby . Many restaurants and eateries located close by so perfect choice in terms of location. It's about 30 to 45mins to the hotel from airport & vice versa ,only because of traffic. Service Standards: The service rendered was EXCEPTIONAL. We were hit with the Indian Rupee crisis when we there but it was comforting to know the hotel manager , Suman offered a listening ear and suggested some options to change the currency. If you need some help with planning your trip itinerary or anything else, please look for SUMAN OR RUBIN. Special mention to Suresh who also engaged in friendly conversations each time he bumped into us. Tips for travelers: 1) If you are looking for convenience, book the tours offered by Suman. We paid about NPR5000 for each day for a driver to bring us to 4 tourist place. Now, I find that expensive ,only because the places of interest were easily accessible by taxi and close by and also because we were done with each place of interest in 1 hour. Nevertheless, if you are new to Nepal, this option will suit you. 2) The hotel offers bus tickets to nea
