My family enjoyed the stay
Location is calm, relaxing and close to the nature and is a remote place with difficult road access. There was a nice garden and a pool area. You can enjoy the jacuzzi as well. My family with two young children really enjoyed the stay because it was like our own place. Need improvements in water pressure/hot water, buffet food and attitude of the staff. However, the front in charge person was really friendly and helped us always.

BEAUTIFUL HOTEL BUT ........
We stayed here as a special treat for my 60th birthday. We paid a lot of money and did not receive the expected or described attention. The manager had gone away that day and as explained by other guests the staff level of service dropped dramatically as soon as she left the building. The vision as stated on their website was for a calm relaxing stay with sounds of nature. When we arrived the locals and children were there celebrating Indepence Day with a number of drums. Whilst they were very nice people the sound was not conducive to a relaxing peaceful stay. Later that evening at 30 minutes past midnight we were woken by the staff having a leaving party resulting in my husband having to get up and shouting for them to stop. There was no poolside service and everything we wanted we had to ask for even asking for the bathrobes changed as they were dirty. The saving grace was the masseur people and the very friendly welcoming chef who prepared an excellent evening meal and birthday cake. If you decide to visit this beautiful hotel we suggest you check the hotel lady manager will be there and you will get a totally different experience. The deputy manager is no more than a member of staff in uniform.

Beautiful hotel with heavenly view
The view from the rooms, the decor of the hotel & extremely friendly staff & owner.
This is a hotel I would highly recommend. The decor & view is simply amazing! I would highly recommend the Fire & Wood rooms, you'll feel like royalty there. The owner was so sweet & helpful. Made us feel truly special. You'll enter as a guest but when you'll leave, you would feel like a family. What an amazing experience it was!

In the middle of nowhere, long & dangerous drive
Good view, nice chef, pool
Had a terrible stay. Do not recommend this place. This hotel is nowhere near Kandy city center. It is high up in the mountains and a very long, dangerous drive -- much of the way is unpaved. Do not do the drive at night. The drive there was so long and terrifying from Kandy that we walked part of the way back to avoid putting our lives at risk again, and getting carsick. There is nothing to do, no restaurants or shops or sightseeing near the hotel. If you want to be completely isolated I guess it's a good place to be. Management was appalling - we asked to leave a day early since the hotel is falsely advertised as 5-star and close to Kandy. Said they would refund us if we talked to Agoda. When Agoda then called them they refused to reimburse us. We left a day early anyway since the staff made a point of being unwelcoming. Had booked a room with two double beds, instead they wanted to put us in the room that is literally in the hotel lobby (with terrible acoustics and no privacy) and has a single king size bed. After much negotiating they agreed to let us have a room upstairs with two double beds. The hotel only had 2 other guests in it the entire time we were there - so it was especially strange that they wanted to put us in the worst room in the entire place. The food was good, however many items and ingredients on the menu weren't in stock. Nothing about this hotel is five star, it is more like a 3 star. Pool is okay, wooden furniture (loungers) is incredibly uncomfortable. Don't have cushions to put on them. They also had trouble locating towels for the pool area – asked us to bring bath towels from our room! There is no food or beverage service at the pool. Accommodation for our driver was also terrible, poorly ventilated & tons of mosquitoes so the poor guy didn't get much sleep either.

If looking for a green retreat to write in peace
Nature Green, view, clean
Fine stay overall. I stayed one night as the location was close to my final destination. It is a boutique hotel with a particular interior design (very personal to the owner) not necessarily matching details yet, it is confortable offering large bedroom with terrace or balconies. The early morning around 6am is my favourite as birds waking up sing happy morning in the morning mist, lovely music and fantastic cotton clouds floating in low sky. The food service is very, very slow and needs professional implementation (lack of attention from the waiter). The food is just ok, western food is not so authentic need to improve. Apology to the head chef who is a kind and gentleman, I am sure he can make it happen, he has to follow up his team closely. It is not a 5* Standard and I doubt it will be considering the interior design style. Overall, the welcome is warm and the place is confortable.

great stay
location, food and cleanness
i have mix feelings about it because of the location of the home it is very high up in the mountain giving a fairytale for a view and on the other hand it takes 50 minutes to get to it from kandy on a long and extremely bumpy ride ending it with 2.5 km of dirt road which killed my back ! my advice if u are looking to stay in it without getting out that it is an excellent choice

Ideal for a real getaway
beautiful panorama, quiet and isolated, clean
We ended up having to cancel our second night at the hotel but the staff were really helpful. I loved my time there and would definitely go back given the right circumstances.
