We had a good time here!!!”
We had a nice experience here... The overlooking view to the Macajalar bay and the growing city of Cagayan de Oro is mesmerising day or night time. The environment is so relaxing and having a garden atmosphere was just good enough for a restful holiday. But we would just like to suggest that the management should start practicing composting rather than burning dry leaves. Smoke is just a terrible thing to handle all day. Second, we would like to see new signage and nameplates of different plants and animal species because as of this time, it is already faded and almost can't be read anymore. I think, if they will consider a makeover, this will lead to a better experience of each guests visiting the village.

Amazing”
We found the Gardens of Malasag Eco Tourism Village an amazing place to stay. Very quiet and peaceful. The view was incredible, the staff were all very friendly helpful people. Unit was very clean and cleaned everyday. The gardens were wonderful to wander around, beautiful flowers, huge trees, lush vegetation. Would definitely stay there again.

My stay was great.”
The 7.2 hectare property is operated by the Tourism Infrastracture and Enterprise Zone Authority (TIEZA) under the Department of Tourism (DOT). It is one (1) of the only two (2) properties in Mindanao island that is operated by TIEZA. The property has an overlooking view of Cagayan de Oro city. If commuting, you should ride a motorcycle or taxi than costs a little expensive due to the location. I stayed in a Superior room/cottage that is said to be good for two (2) but is actually good for four to five (4-5) as there are two (2) single beds and one (1 ) queen bed. There's a balcony that looks over a part of the city and the swimming pool. The food was delicious, however, I needed to walk a little far to reach the restaurant. The staff were polite and very accommodating. The plants in the garden were beautiful but not well maintained. There were spider webs when walking near the hanging bridge and mini zoo. But overall, my stay was great.

Quiet and lovely "us" time”
Our trip to Malasag last November was really memorable. It started really bad because we missed our flight and we can't rebook with Cebu Pacific without paying 3 times our original tickets. But it was really worth it that we continued our trip. We arrived in Malasag at 8PM in the evening. it's around 45min to 1 hour from the airport. The staff greeted us and walk us towards our room. Room is bigger than I expected. View was superb. The next day, we checked out the area, checked out the mini aviary and got lots of pictures. Food from their resto is also affordable and tastes good too. On our last day, we requested to have late check out since we also have late flight at night, We requested for 2pm check out instead of 12nn and they allowed us. We will definitely go back and next time we want to stay longer. Nice place, nice people.

Onw With Nature”
The Gardens of Malasag is a perfect place for a soul who wishes to seek solitude and peace. I find it the perfect place to rest from the busyness of the city, plus the fact that it is just nearby CDO.

Resort with best view in CDO. Botanical-ethnical Village.”
This government-owned resort with professional staff was very pleased place to stay for about two weeks for the following reasons: 1. Nice view to the bay and city from cottage 2. Have small zoo there you can see and feed monkeys, eagles, snakes etc 3. Resort is itself as a botanic garden but also it is an entry point to The National park their you can make half-day trip at canyon with jumps to waterfalls (supervised by professional team of the park) or ride horses on the mountain. 4. Some of employees belong to different Tribes so they can tell you about their customs and believes. 5. All day attended by lifeguard nice small swimming pool, which is good for small kids. 6. From 6 am to 9 pm restaurant with reasonable price and very delicious food opens for service. 7. From CDO easily get there by taxi (300 pesos), or can ride Jeepney (10 pesos) and take motorcycle (50 pesos) after. I believe that this is a best place in CDO to spent time of vacation.

Amazing view of the bay”
I was lucky there were a few guests I was able to enjoy the serenity of the place. Be careful when the paths are wet, I slipped and fell down. I couldn't enjoy the pool coz the staff were late in cleaning but the whole experience was great. The price of the meals were reasonable too.

More of nature..”
Went here for my daughters birthday. We had fun. What I like about the place is that you will feel closer to nature. The view of the city from the village is awesome. The pool was not available when we came. Staff were accommodating and friendly. Worth your money.

Beautiful and relaxing view of Macajalar Bay”
If you’re looking for a place to relax and enjoy a peaceful quality time with your loved ones away from a hustle and bustle of the city, this is a place for you. And it’s close enough to the city but it feels like you are in the middle of the jungle. The deluxe rooms have the best view of the Macajalar Bay. Getting to the swimming pool and the camp ground is very stiff for walking not ideal for elderly. For improvements, to maximize this beautiful location having more flowering plants would make it more enjoyable to explore.

Very beautiful rooms in a great location”
The rooms are very nice, more beautiful than the pics here show. The view from the big terrace of the rooms over the bay is great. A good location for a few romantic days! Getting there from the city proper will cost around 250 php per taxi. If you order a taxi from the reception to bring you back will cost 300 php. You can make small walks in the hotel park - a lot of nature, a small zoo, a swimming pool, which was unfortunatley closed when we have been there.

Location is far ”
Pros: A relaxing place to be away from the city, great ocean view from the balcony. Room was clean + bigger beds. Nice garden & surroundings. The staff were very friendly and courteous. Restaurant has amazing ocean view. One of the waiter that served us for breakfast, was so lovely and kind. Made our breakfast + his service so pleasant. Great customer service! Cons: Location is bit far away, paid 300 for the taxi one way. The drivers will asked to add extra 100 cause it’s far away and they won’t have passenger on the way back apparently. The cottages were far away to the main reception and restaurant. No telephone in the room to make calls to the reception. Had to use our own phone. This is place is good for people who enjoy hiking, as you will be walking a long way, up and down. Not so good for older people, as the steps are quiet steep, even if you take the road. You’ll be so exhausted and your legs will start shaking if you’re not used to the walk uphill. No buggy cart to help you unfortunately. We had an emergency, one of our children believed to have been food poison. There were no taxi or public transport nearby to get us to the hospital at midnight. I recommend bringing your own transportation if you’re thinking of coming here. Toilet plush were issues. It stopped flushing.

Nice and peaceful ”
Though it is a little outdated, TV has only one channel, the pool is not that nice however the water is clean and I love the view of cdo.. I also like the peaceful ambience and the staff is nice and that matters a lot.

Great Family-friendly venue.”
Exceptionally friendly staff, which is so important to a young family. There are beautiful views night and day, plus a playing field, a family-safe pool and some nice swings, seesaws and a slide. The chalets have aircon and lovely balconies, the bar is fine and spacious and there are large conference facilities; it was all most impressive.

Overall a Comfortable Stay ”
Pros: The place had a beautiful view. Room was big and clean. Aircon was cold and the hot water for bathing is working. Bed was comfortable and towels were clean. Even though we got to the place past 9pm check in was a breeze. Cons: Everything was outdated though. The ref is old, the pipes are exposed. The shower head needs to be replaced. But since everthing is working can't complain much. Overall it was a comfortable stay and value for money. Will book again. Thank you.

Great view from our room”
I like the ambiance it seems like we are really in a very remote place. We arrived in the evening and entered our room. The room was very far from the entrance of this place. We walked for about 5 minutes or so. It was very very tiring. We arrived in our room very tired with a sore leg we hardly breathe while walking. Lol. It was bad. When we entered the room. It was nice, nothing fancy except for the view. It was really nice. We can see most of the CDO. It was very peaceful at night. It was very private and safe to stay. However, if you are adventorous and is not afraid of the dark you can walk through this place. The place was covered with long trees . During free breakfast, i recommend that you’ll stay in your room and opt not to walk to the resto because it will really piss you off early in the morning. We just called the resto and ask to deliver our free breakfast to our room. However, There was a 30% room service. But it’s okay rather than walk up road. I felt bad for the delivery man though. We also visited a mini zoo where there were live animals like monkeys, snakes, hawk, eagle but i feel sad looking those in the cages. I hope they were free. The place needs to be developed more. Overall, it was a nice stay with a very lovely view!
