First time to try traditional B&B”
We are a couple and newly migrated to Melby from SG and we never tried a traditional Bed & Breakfast. We had lots of good surprises: 1. The place was VERY clean, almost "sparkling". There are a lot of spaces and nooks inside the house if you want to do some reading or relaxing or watching TV. 2. Breakfast - there's a menu you can choose from. We thought it was a small breakfast just like fast food but was surprised it was a full breakfast! We actually ordered 2 breakfast and I had to cancel to other one. The juice was organic and very tasty! 3. Surprise - there's a box of chocolates waiting for us on the bed. Appreciate it 4. Light supper - I was car sick going up/down Falls Creek and I was not able to eat well. Appreciate that there are some muffins and cookies baked for the guests 5. Added perks - there are a lot of options for the drinks with different flavors: tea, coffee, juice, soda, beer and even liquors (wine, whiskey, etc) - and all are free! 6. The bed is heated and I was able to sleep well Nex time, we go to Bright on Autumn, we will probably book them again if they are not fully booked! I took out 1 star due to Pauline who was not that friendly. I asked about late checkout as our friends who are staying at another hotel was just checking out same time. Perhaps latest 11am but she said she is not going to be able to clean up in a but irritated tone which was still fine but then the asked us to wait outside the door and it is winter so it is chilly. We felt we got kicked out. Other than that Keith has exceeded our expectations. Thanks a lot Keith!

fantastic place to stay”
It was one of better experiences with B&B stay. Keith and Pauline were most gracious hosts. Keith provided freshly baked/prepared afternoon tea each day during our stay. We had friends from France with us and they were quite impressed with standards of the Gatekeepers Traditional B&B. We plan to stay again during May Autumn festival.
Enjoyable”
Enjoyable. This time of year at Bright is renowned for the autumn leaves and this place is well suited to enjoy them. It is a very pleasant 10 minute walk to the town via either the trail trail (just out the back gate) or along the river path (across the road and down a side street). It is also an easy bike ride along the trail to other towns. We were the only guests (there are 3 bedrooms) and layout worked very well for us. Owners maintain the place in an "as new" condition and everything form BBQ area to inside of the house is spotlessly clean and tidy.
Bright Stay”
I highly recommend the Gatekeepers Cottage. The owners were fantastic and catered for absolutely everything and the cottage itself was perfectly spotless and comfortable.

This is a wonderful B&B with great hosts who go the extra mile for their guests. Rooms are impeccably clean. Would definitely recommend this to anyone who is looking for a quiet location but still within easy walking distance of all that Bright offers.

Fantastic location just metres from Bright town centre. As a host Keith was brilliant, offering advice, insight and a great atmosphere. All the little touches were very much appreciated such as supper, chocolates and the rest. Will happily come back again before the end of the year,
Welcoming hosts in a beautiful town”
We stayed at Gatekeepers for three nights to explore the area and ride the rail trail. We were made to fell very welcome and nice little extras included free drinks from the fridge, a box of chocolates and quality toiletries. This b & b is only a couple of years old and spotlessly clean throughout. Located right next to the rail trail and within easy walking or cycling distance to town it is in an ideal location to explore the area.
All-round excellence”
The cottage itself is an interesting, historic building and has been very sympathetically extended to provide the Bed and Breakfast accommodation. The hosts, Pauline and Keith, had thought of everything that is needed for a comfortable, pleasant stay. They had paid great attention to detail and knew exactly what would appeal to guests. There is plenty of space, both in the bedrooms and in the well-equipped guest lounge.

Without a doubt this was the best bed and breakfast we have ever stayed at. We couldn't have been made more welcome by Keith and Pauline who ensured our stay at their lovely place was the perfect break especially with their extra special touches and thoughtfulness.

Friendly comfortable and clean B & B”
Very happy with our 'cross your fingers' choice ... We got lucky. Hosts Keith and Pauline were very hospitable and helpful. Room with ensuite was very clean and comfy. Shared lounge area was relaxing and well stocked with papers, books, and local information. Breakfast was beautifully cooked by Keith and a supper of muffins one night and fruit another was thoughtful. Wine, bottles of water etc we're also available for free. Thanks for the choccies and ladies gift pack . Flat quick walk to town and nature walks very close. Great stay. Italian restaurant Sole Luna fabulous but you must book!
Lovely place to get away”
We were looked after so well, beautiful breakfast and delicious suppers were provided by our hosts, who were so friendly. The fridge was well stocked for our use, and the chocolate and lavender products that were waiting for us in our room made us feel very special. The location was great, a lovely spot for a getaway. Would definitely recommend staying here and would go back for another visit.

Lovely place to stay, the owners made me very welcome and I really couldn't have asked for better service.The only thing that could be improved on is car parking which is currently off road but in the open.
