Perfect location for a relaxing break”
    Clean beach and big pool
This is our second time stay at this lovely resort. It was low season because of monsoon then. The beach is clean and I was advised not to swim there as the sea waves and current are strong. Nevertheless, I enjoyed swimming in the big pool - all by myself! The staffs are friendly and helpful. The 1st room that was assigned to us has electricity problem. So, we were given a another room facing the beach. The view was fantastic and it's so relaxing to listen to the sea waves will being lulled to sleep. We will definitely come back again!

    Great private location! Comfortable stay!”
The clean, quiet and looooong stretch of sandy beach
the room is clean and love the view from the balcony that looks out to the sea. if you're tired to go out and find food in the city (about 30 mins driving distance), you can try the hotel food. we had chicken chop and fried chicken wings for dinner. they are delicious! with that said, the buffet breakfast didn't live up to our expectation though. the restaurant is on stilts/pillars and we can enjoy our food with a sea view and soft breeze.

I think GBR has management issues. (oopss..sorry!) I said so because the maintenance is very poor. the cafe also closed with no amenities provided. the buildings look very creepy. the place was very quiet and looks old. we are the only guest at that time, we barely see anyone around. We didn't feel good about it. We did't stay over nite instead we rent another hotel for the night. Sorry GBR, but you need a lot of improvement to survive.. Rebranding might help, may be...

This hotel has nice and spacious room. I am very satisfied with the room. It got LCD TV with astro, refrigerator, nice toilet. But the only thing is, this place need more lighting. At night it is dark and scary because lack of lighting. Need to put spotlight at parking and the pool area.

Disappointed with the beach. Went for the beach but it was dirty and the sand was so coarse. Walked around to the nearby eateries. Have the best satay at the entrance of the drive to the hotel. Nothing much around. Far from airport.

    quiet place but nothing more”
    near to beach, quiet place,
Moment we arrived, we're already exhausted due to long distance driving. There’s a family of cow greet us at parking place. The lobby and reception looks nice, but there's no bellboy service, so have to bring the luggage for about 200 meters from parking place to our room. It’s quite far for us, with 2 little kids and quite a lot of steps-climbing - not suitable for elderly people and toddlers. The cupboard has no doors. Which later i found out those other 3 rooms next to mine also has similar case. The room space is ok, comfortable for my wife and myself, and my 2 kids. i requested 1 baby cot, which cost me additional rm50. The balcony was so near to other room's balcony, and it's so easy to break into other rooms, although it’s been lock from inside, believe me. There’s no night activity, everything seems so dead and scary at night, as no other people staying at the Right Wing, except us. The garden seemed not being maintained regularly, of which adding to the creepy ambiance, and big plus the thundery monsoon. The next morning, i found out that booking through agoda, is not inclusive of breakfast and no coupon for swimming pool. (Adult - rm10 if not mistaken, to use swimming pool). There’s only ala carte for breakfast, no buffet. And only have 3 meals - western, malay (nasi goreng etc) and oriental (fried mee etc). There were 3 bored-looking European guys having their breakfast. Thinking that i don't come this far only to have this "regular" breakfast, i try my luck at near village. And yeah the food was really good! The swimming pool is not clean. (since there was no one, we didn’t pay for it) and my kids looks bored since there is no playground etc. the beach is really nice and quiet, but not suitable for swimming because its too dangerous. Unless if you are a professional surfer. In overall, the hotel is ok, comfortable, near to beach and quiet. But that’s all. I definitely will not come again.

Nice surroundings but small rooms ”
Very good service and quiet place. Also wonderful beach and pools.
Had a pleasant stays for my family especially my young daughter which enjoyed her swimming pool and beach side playing time. They provided a lot of parking lots but quite risky with the aging trees around. Not happy with the less variety of breakfast and not very presentable. Unfortunately also, I have to pay more to Agoda compared to my friend whose booking directly through hotel's website. Overall, it was not value for the sum of money paid.

    Great Holiday and Reosrt”
    Restaurant, Excellent Service
Holiday 4d3n. We had great fun. Excellent service from all gems staff, they are friendly and rendered their service and assistance since this is our first time to visit Kuala Terengganu. First day was early for us to check-in as at 8am but we are given a room for us to relax as we have to wait for another room. With consideration of my mom health cos problem with her knee, we are given ground floor for my mom to stay. They say it is best to have our own transport and since we dont have any transport gems staff arranged transport for us to go sight seeing to Crystal mosque, Kuala Terengganu town, redang island. Restaurant food was so nice. Im quite afraid that my children dont like local food but to my surprise they love so much. They also served western food. We enjoy so much. My hubby is very particular with all this but he really enjoy so much and keep giving good feedback abt the resort to our family members. Overall a very memorable holiday for us...

    food was very good
We stayed at Gem Beach Resort only one night on our way to Kuala Besut. During the time we were there it was very quiet and peaceful. Room was big enough for the four of us. Staff friendly. By the time we were there no Breakfastbuffet. Pool looked closed, no towels. After we asked for towels at reception we were able to get some.

    Great location but small rooms”
    close to beach
Resort location is quite far from Kuala Terengganu. The room is quite small thus only suitable for couple. The room and toilet not really clean. The TV signal also not that good and not using cable TV. Staff at front office not that friendly. The swimming is quite nice since it is big and close to the beach. The breakfast provided not that good since less variety and the amount also not that much to cater the guest at that time. Quite difficult to find restaurant close to the hotel.

Lovely & quiet hotel with natural surroundings”
good architectural settings & design, private secluded beach
The super deluxe is just nice and enough to cater for both of us plus 2 kids. However, the front services are not worth the hotel rates - only 1 staff at the reception to handle everything, nobody is helping us carry our luggage to the room (if they provide trolley, much better). Food is average - we only had our breakfast there since it was included in the package. But when we ask about lunch or dinner, the staff recommend us to eat outside for more varieties. The nearest food outlet not open during lunch & we've got to go to town for the food. They should promote their restaurant esp. during peak hour & school holiday. They also dont have services for island hopping/day trip. We've got to find our own in jetty Merang (to Marine Park)

The local people. Everyone is just so friendly.
My partner and I stayed in this hotel for 5 disappointing nights. On our arrival we were informed that the buffet breakfast was not available as advertised and th television in our room did not work. The room was not clean. They wanted to move us to another room where the television still did not work. For the five days we had to ring the office every day for some problem. The hotel has great possabilities but nothing is delivered. When locals ask where you are staying and they respond with "Why you stay there" you know something is wrong.
