Overall, one of the best hostels I have ever stayed in. The facility is huge and clean. The staff members were helpful. The ‘check-in and check-out’ process was smooth. Location-wise, it’s close to everywhere.

You're never too old to stay in a hostel! ”
I'm 60 years old and this was my first time staying at a hostel. The staff at Generator Dublin are fantastic. So helpful with any requests or questions I have. The room (womens 6 bed) was big enough for me to put my personals in the large lockable bin under the beds and put my suitcases out of the way. Personal bedlight and plug for phone, etc was great. Washroom and shower as part if the room is a plus i wasnt aware of. The young women sharing the space were all fun, friendly, polite and respect. Having laundry facilities on site as well as a restaurant and bar make for a great stay Easy access to so many sightseeing areas. I highly recommend if you're traveling on a budget.

The staffs were friendly and the room was very clean and tidy. Even though each room has own toilet, there were also shared toilet and shower facilities enough, so I could be comfortable in morning. Nice hostel! Don’t hesitate it!

had a great time at generator. the staff were super friendly and fielded all my stupid questions (there’s a girl at the front desk who’s cute too ;) this place runs like a well oiled machine - so the name is quite fitting. comfortable and clean beds with outlete. great bar area and lockers for luggage storage. highly recommend. thank you generator <3

Location not bad 15min away from city center. But nothing around hostel. You should walk more than 5min to find a place to eat. Clean room everyday housekeeping. Kind staff. Only thing you should know is the place is very noisy at night because of a bar downstairs I guess.

Best one night's stay! ”
I'm a solo female traveler and I just needed a one night's stay. It was good value for money, good location, I felt safe, and we had a problem with our toilet but the staff attended to it quickly. The vibe is also great and if I had time I would have stayed another night!

A good place”
This is my first hostel experience and it was really good. The place is walking distance to most of the attractions. It is also in a safe location. It is a well known place so people know where this is. I had good room mates and it was fun. If you are a solo traveller, it is highly recommended to chose this place. The only con is that the door is loud when it shuts. I checked in very late in the night which is about 1am. I didn't know that the door makes a loud noise. I am sure I woke my room mates up when I entered the room. The toilet is spacious. A good value for the money.

Ok for older Travelers”
I'm a geezer and the Generator is aimed at the young. But It still worked for me. the location is great, a little out of city center, but still walking distance. I had a private room, but didn't read the description carefully when I booked and at check-in, learned that it was a shared bathroom on another floor! Try that after a 3 Guinness night! But it's all part of the adventure. They have rooms with private bathrooms which I would opt for.

Better than the other options ”
If I had a better choice I would choose it but the standards for hostels in Dublin are very low. Considering the price of the market this is disappointing. Staff was fantastic and helpful. I stayed 3 nights. The bathroom/ room was never cleaned and I had to request toilet paper the last day. There was garbage and dust bunnies around the floor. No hand soap(fixture gone) in the bathroom. Toilet only flushed half the time( nerve wrecking). Mold on bathroom ceiling. For the price this was tough. Overall bathrooms needed an update and refresh. But most of the other hostels in Dublin are worse. Wish a cool hostel would open and raises the bar in Dublin. I normally love staying in hostels but this felt like a rip off.

Not the best choice”
Is you are traveling with a backpack you need your sleep. Its cheap and the staff, if available is friendly, but it’s to warm inside, too noisy, too crowded and not clean. If you don’t mind this its a nice nabourhood with bars, restaurants ans lot to do. For me… I just need some sleep.

Soulless Hostel”
Pretty soulless generic hostel with no athmosphere. Was there for the New Years but left very disappointed at how dull atmosphere the hotel had. Not recommended.
