Overpriced”
The room was very small and our room overlooked a roof terrace with mechanical services. It is an OK hotel but definitely not a 3-star hotel. The location is super central and convenient and the staff is friendly.

just a place to stay”
Room and hotel was OK . It didn't appear super clean but it was just a place to stay for a night and it served its purpose. It wasn't disgusting or necessarily dirty but it was questionable.

Convenient location”
Helpful front desk staff helped to take baggage upstairs & downstairs despite of no lift/escalator for baggage. Convenient location to National Express bus station and walking distance to train station.

NO breakfast ”
Great Location But nothing else. NO breakfast, NO parking at front door, NO lift. The price was quite high and you stayed in a b&b without breakfast . Not suitable for business travel.

Convenient Hotel near City Centre of Oxford”
It is situated near the Gloucester Green Bus station, just within 5min walk. The room was clean and tidy. The staff was friendly. Unfortunately there was a bar at ground floor and was quite noisy until after mid-night.

Trip to Oxford”
The hotel is clean and has very good location that in heart of Oxford city center. Many resturants, bars, and shopping centers are not far from the hotel. Also many of Oxford Colleges not far and you can reach them by walking. The hotel as many of Oxford's small central hotels has small bedrooms, small bathrooms, and no elevator.

Very poor staff”
Customer service is ZERO. You have to carry all your luggages from the ground all the way to your room without anybody offering help. The same when you check out. There is no elevator, stairs are too narrow and stiff. If you have personal car, the location is definitely not the one for you. Paid parking is half kilometer away and car can not enter the street. Rooms are too small. You can hear all the noises from the street and bars below.

Great location outweighs negatives for me”
Whether you love or hate this hotel will depend on your priorities. This was my second stay, so for me the positives outweigh the negatives, but that may not be true for you. The positives are the very central location (you cannot get a better one in Oxford) and the reasonable price. The staff are friendly. The negatives are that it is very noisy at night due to the club in the basement of the building and general noise on George Street, there is no lift, the rooms are fairly small, and the furniture is a bit old. The hotel also does not serve breakfast, but there are plenty of places to get breakfast nearby (I like Combibos in Gloucester Green). So decide what is important to you. For me, the location and price make this a great place to stay.

Great value for money!”
New bathrooms, central location, terrific value for money
I had to stay in Oxford to attend classes for 4 separate weeks in 2015. The cost of hotels in Oxford is high but there's very little value. I was very happy to find the Victoria House. It's fantastic value for money, clean and neat (though the bed cover could use a wash) with lovely new bathrooms and carpet. I simply needed somewhere comfortable, warm and clean that was within walking distance of school (Said) and didn't cost the earth. I certainly got it with the Victoria House, it fit my requirements perfectly! It's the only place I stayed in twice (would have been three times expect they were booked up).

Small room but great Location!”
Location, easy access to bus station and attractions, friendly staff
The room was quite small for 2 single beds. There was no lift but the staff fulfilled our request for our rooms to be on the first floor (same as reception). We didn't have our meals there, but the staff recommended good food restaurants, as well as some of the must see in Oxford.

Ok experience”
only the location
It was ok, hotel situated in the centre of the town, near the shops and colleges, so very convenient. The room was very basic, the bed was unconfortable and small for 2 people. The lack of an elevator is an issue if you are an old person.
