Excellent Experience!”

Comfortable Bed, Air conditioning, great location

Even though we had deliberately booked a small double room due to attending a festival and only needing it for a place to recover, it was of a higher standard than we expected. The room was very clean, and inviting, with great air conditioning, clean bathroom and a larger than expected, very comfortable bed. The staff were very friendly and helpful. We each had the $16 steak and schooner deal, which was very delicious and filling! The only let down was the hollandaise sauce on the eggs Benedict the next morning, which had a very strong vinegar taste, but once scrapped off the meal was lovely and my partner enjoyed the big breakfast very much! We will definitely return here whenever we are required to return to the city, and will happily brag about and suggest the George Williams Hotel to our family and friends! Thank you very much! :D

Having arrived at Roma Street from Brisbane airport, after travelling from Melbourne, we were delighted to discover that George Williams Hotel was in such close proximity to both the train station and the buzz of Brisbane! amazingly quiet at night considering it's in the town centre, highly recommend!

Quiet, comfortable and quick layover”

Location, big and tidy room

I only stayed 1 night at George Williams but I checked in in the afternoon and I liked the size of the bathroom in the room comparing to some other budget hotels as I go to Brisbane on a regular basis and I can't afford expensive hotels. The location is great in the center, close to everything, restaurants, shopping centers, casino and of course very easy to catch public transport. I personally highly recommend this hotel for a short and even long stays.

Comfortable beds, great location and helpful staff

The George Williams is in a great location for making the most of Brisbane with the main hub being just walking distance. The decor was a little tired but the clean, comfortable beds made up for this as well as the central location of the hotel

2 day holiday stay”

location and price

we were 2 persons sharing a small double bedded room. this was totally fine for us. went to the Brisbane International tennis tournament and just stayed in the room for sleeping and showering for 2 nights. very centrally located hotel with a big train station nearby. no free wifi at the hotel. unfortunately no own restaurant. breakfast cooperation with neighbouring 325 on George cafe. miserable service there. cafe staff didn't ask if we were hotel guests or just walked in. charged cappucino full price although we bought a breakfast voucher from the hotel. because they didn't ask if we were hotel guests we ordered the drinks before it was clear that we stayed in the hotel. breakfast voucher from the hotel includes only regular coffee which we didn't know before. instead of charging us the price difference from a regular coffe to a cappucino they charged us full price for the cappucino. 325 on George: unacceptable! very poor behaviour of the cafe's staff!!

Budget hotel, great location and clean!”

on George street just next to YMCA, the hotel room is spacy and clean. Walking distance to city centre like the casino and the wheel of Brisbane. Just a few minutes walk to the shopping area of Queen Street Mall. Plenty to buy there! Beware of early closure of shops on the weekend.

Excellent Location!”

The location of the hotel is excellent, they provide a complimentary breakfast each morning which was better than expected and the staff are very helpful.

I was on transit from Malaysia to Fiji when I stayed here and I had a very good experience staying at this hotel. I will definitely stay here again if I am traveling by myself to Brisbane or past Brisbane. Liz, at the main reception, is exceptionally helpful. She helped me to get a late check-out on the 20th of September 2015, my flight back to Singapore was at 11.35pm and I requested for check-out at 8.30pm and she fulfilled my request. She also gave me great advice and information on where to buy souvenirs around the Brisbane CBD and in the Southbank. Thank you very much!

Good hotel”

Location, clean rooms, good price

George Williams was a pleasant hotel, very good value for the price. I'll be back. Next time I'll book direct, not through Agoda. Refused to provide a proper Australian tax invoice for a stay in an Australian hotel; on a business trip, this costs me real money. I won't use Agoda again.

A perfect location & easy access from airport”

Close to public transport, central & low budget accommodation

The Hotel George Williams was very easy to find in the center of Brisbane. I was travelling by train so it was only a 200 meter walk to the Hotel. On arrival my booking had not been issued but that was no hiccup to the staff who quickly accommodated me. I was also very quickly contacted when my extra payment went through with big apologies & prompt refund. The Staff were very efficient & were able to advise me on direction with a complimentary map for my appointment the following day. Train access was again only a 200 meter walk to catch my flights the next evening. What a great friendly city Brisbane is & the staff proved that too.

Stumbled upon this hotel looking for affordable accommodation for three adults. Firstly, I was very impressed with how spacious the rooms were and the fact that they actually accommodate for three without having to book another room. We had a double bed and a double sofa bed and it was not cramped at all. It is the perfect spot if you're looking for something nice, clean and affordable. The room was very clean and tidy. Staff was very friendly and helpful. I would definitely book again in future if we ever have to go up to Brisbane for the weekend.

Great NYE stay”

AWESOME location in Brisbane; the room (611) is quite small (about 11 m2) but big enough for an overnight NYE stay. Room looks like a "real" 4-star hotel room, but comes in mini-size. All the necessary elements are in there, though. Don't expect too much space to swing a cat, though. This is a YMCA hotel, so all proceeds go back into the YMCA, which is excellent. Love the concept.

Location is just great; Staff were cheerful and efficient; Breakfast is deliciious and good value.

This was our first time and we really enjoyed it. The staff are what stood out to me, and I noticed how helpful and efficiently they treated all their guests. The food was good - well prepared and served with a smile, as well as being value for money. The positioning is perfect and allows quick and easy access to Brisbane Central. We would be more than happy to stay here again. It does make a favourable impression alongside many of the other pricer CBD hotels. Check in here!!!
