Best hotels & accommodations in Geylang

The hotel and room is real pretty. Really stands out among the other hotels in Geylang. It puts all the other hotels to shame. For a really affordable price, the bed is worth the money because it'ssuper duper comfy! Just like in four stars hotel. We could just watch anything we want on the TV because there is a android tv box installed. We can comfortably enjoy dramas ...

I honestly hesitated to proceed the payment when i booked this hotel because of the reviews. Well, its not the best you can find there but its comfortable enough to stay with your family at a cheapest rate. They have big beds, room cleaning is available but you have to tell them. They don't offer bfast but you can borrow a kettle/pitcher if you want to make your coff...

I guess our only gripe would be that their internet/wifi was unforgivably slow but everything else was awesome. Also, Geylang is indeed a red light district and might not be best for a family travelling together. But if that's not a problem, choosing Hotel 81 Star would be a smart choice. Take our word for it! Note: This review is only for Hotel 81 Star.

Near mrt , just need some walk and across a road to paya Lebar square. Convenient store just next to hotel ,petrol station . Is raining day for my 3 night stay, hotel have umbrella to borrow too.No issue if find breakfast early in the morning like 7am. paya Lebar square 5 minute walk From hotel,Many restaurants already open. Food variety and nice to eat. Food at Cafe...

Stayed here for 9 nights. Rooms very clean and quite big for a Geylang Hotel! Big bathroom with walk in shower and fridge in room. Great free WiFi. Walk to Aljunied MRT about 10 minutes. It's in a quiet sidestreet. Best hotel I stayed so far in Geylang. Good price and more space in room than most cheap hotels in Geylang.

This is a vey comfortable hotel in Geylang area, althought it was abit far from the MRT station. The enviroment was good, silent and comfortable, LCD TV was mount on wall with some local channel. Room space wasn't big but enough for solo traveller. Staff was quite friendly and helpful, serving with smile. Cleaner did their job well too. Overall was satisfied at this ra...

Pros: - Rooms are exactly same as shown in the picture. - Towels changed daily and bottled water provided daily. - 10 mins walk to Kallang MRT Station and walking distance for bus station. - 10 mins walk to Kallang McDonald's & Kallang KFC (I found the food tastier at Kallang Maccas & KFC). Cons : - I did not have any cons for this hotel. First night we got into the ...

this hotel is clean and aesthetically pleasing. It is a nice hotel for a budget friendly trip. The staff were friendly and very discreet. The only issue is that the walls are very thin. You can clearly hear your neighbors across the room and adjacent to yours. Not for children but good for couples and solo travelers. Overall, it is a nice, cheap, and convenient hotel i...

This is a clean and nice hotel situated at Geylang. Hotel has parking so if you are travelling in a private car, you can save some $$ for parking overnight. Nice room and quiet environment. There is a mixture of families and couple travelers staying here.

I have stayed in several hotels in Geylang - the only affordable area for me in Singapore,(which has just been classed as 'the most expensive city in the world' by The Economist for the 2nd year in a row), and this was by far the best. Yes Geylang is the of Singapore, however, this is Singapore so it is still an area that is well maintained and has great infrastructure...

Location is good, clean, and safe. There is a cheap Indian restaurant on the corner that serves excellent food (get the mutton briyani and prata with teh ice). 7-Eleven is nearby. Walk to Aljunied MRT takes 7-15 minutes depending on your foot speed. Hotel lobby is sparse, just a bench, front desk, and luggage storage. Room is small (as most budget SG hotels are), but i...

The hotel is actually on a Geylang road. So basically it's opened on mainly road. Unfortunately if you bring luggage with you, it's quite burdensome since you have to drag your luggage around 500m along the main road. The nearest station is Alijunied, closer than Keylang station. For Muslim who seek Halal food, it's so easy because Geylang has so many choices. The staff...

I spent 10 days at Hotel 34 and was pleased. It's among the best budget hotels in Geylang. The front desk and housekeeping staff were consistently helpful, friendly and professional. 5 minutes of walking will get you to wonderful Chinese and Indian eateries or to a small Fair Price market to buy food and beverage supplies. The Alljunied MRT is less than a 10 minute...

Location of this hotel is right in the middle of the red light district but it's okay since there are lots of eating places around and it's quite safe to walk around. Actually quite fun to observe the hustle and bustle of Geylang. Hotel room seems to have been recently refurbished and it all looks clean and wonderful. The size of the bedroom is quite large compared to ...

good location on geylang were in transpo is very accessible like bus and mrt..although it is on the city center but u can rest well because of the neighborhood...not too far from hawkers area were u can eat local foods fit for ur budget...staff are really nice..they are willing to assist and will give u tips and instructions in going around SG...rooms were cleaned ever...

The receptionists are friendly and willing to guide me wherever i want to go. The housekeeping service is good. Although the room is small but it is free of noise of the geylang town.is convenient to get bus service. We were enjoy having our supper nearby the hotel.

located just 50m from geylang, singapore; ideal for those who like another experience of nightlife in singapore. best time is from 9.00pm onward till early morning. stroll along the geylang road and you will see the leisurely life style of some singaporean on this part of the city which is 180 degree different from the hectic life of most singaporean who live in the ci...

I called the hotel a day before our arrival in Singapore. The person at the other end of the line confirmed our reservation and was very willing to answer questions regarding transportation options, directions, and tours. It only took around 15 minutes for us to reach the hotel from the airport. The hotel looks like a converted and refurbished condo/apartment, which...

Compared to 2 other budget hotels rated 2 stars I stayed in Geylang area last Sept & Nov 2009, 81 Palace is better although it is rated 1 star. Room & bathroom is cleaner and also designed better. Better room paint color and floor tile also creates better ambiance. As other budget hotel, the room is small. But better furniture placement in 81 Palace hotel room create...

My impression is that Singapore is a tough place to get a low priced hotel room in that isn't a complete pit or a backpacker hovel. So, a number of these hotels in Geylang actually work pretty well if your budget is closer to USD 50 than USD 150. I suspect that the dual use feature of Geylang hotels (presumably, a lot of the rooms are rented by the hour) is what keep...

i stayed in deluxe room for 5 days. for those who doesn't expect too much unnecessary luxury things(swimming pool, gym, etc) for their stay, it is good one to select.. you will have all basic amenities in the room.. they provide complimentary 2 water bottles, shampoo, soap, tooth brush, etc everyday in your room. provided with a cubboard and a locker key to keep things...

We are a well travelled couple and our expections for a good hotel are cleanliess, friendly staff and reasonable location, then the rest shall come along nicely! And Golden Star Hotel is one such example. To be critical, only the size of the room and surrounding are worthy of making an arrogant fuss about. The queen bed is overwhelming when first entering the room and ...

If you want to explore Geylang as the food capital of Sg, try booking yourself a reservation at Lodge 41 in Lorong 16. Staff are amazing, esp Albert who happens to be a Filipino like me. Richard, who owns the place is prompt enough to tend and accommodate all your needs. You just have to ask for things youd like to request. Great value for money! If youre travelling a...

I have stayed in Geylang many times in a variety of the hotels. They are all pretty much in the same condition ... they all need a paint inside and could do with new furnishings and bedding, shower curtains etc. ... but cleanliness and good WiFi is very important to me so on that basis I would say that the Darlene is the best I have stayed at. Furthermore the hotel rec...

This hotel is pretty good with decent cleanliness and less than a 5 minute walk from the Paya Lebar MRT station. The room can be quite dark, and the hotel is situated in Geylang. I believe this hotel may not be ideal for fussy travelers. However, for a few night's stay, it is good for its price based on Singapore standards. Would not mind staying here again really.

#GOOD Very near from MRT Aljunied Simple interior, good design This time, Wifi is no problem. Rooms are very clean. #BAD Image of Geylang(but not Geylang) No Breakfast(but no problem) Recentry erased customer's review Agoda's map is still NOT correct. Hostel's name is not clear...

Great place to crash if you are arriving on a late flight, and will only be there to sleep before beginning your journey. Excellent service even with my late 23:00 hour check-in, and very accommodating. The best thing is there are some great food vendors nearby, food was better here than at some really well reviewed other places in Singapore. Plus the food and everythi...

We had a great stay at Hotel Fuji. It is just a few minutes walk from the MRT or around 15SGD taxi from airport. I'm not sure where the previous negative reviews are coming but the hotel is clean. This is a no-frills offer in a new building a very short taxi ride from Marina Bay. There is no real reception as such - when you arrive your passport details are recorded and you're given a key and swipe cards allowing access to property, floor and room. The room was clean and stark (nice modern bathroom with good hot water and water pressure) - wardrobe, bed, desk an...

More about Geylang
Joo Chiat Street is the most attractive tourist district in the area. It’s named after a Chinese merchant who established an early millhouse in Geylang. Today, this street boasts well-maintained shop houses that blend elements of architecture from China and Europe.
While most of the people in Geylang are local residents, tourists do venture here for the exciting and affordable nightlife. Geylang has Singapore’s most famous hostess bars that operate with formal government approval. Most of the tourists that book accommodation in Geylang are from Malaysia and other Southeast Asian countries.
Beyond taking advantage of budget accommodation, one of the biggest draws in Geylang is local cuisine. The fusion of Malay and Peranakan cultures here goes back to the 19th century, and local dishes reflect this unique heritage. Spicy curries and sweet coconut-milk deserts are favorites, and they’re widely available from hawker stalls throughout Geylang.
